  1. I normally do not ask for dirty plays, but that #20 deserves a massive crack back block coming his way at some point in this game. The only thing worse than that hit was the refs refusal to flag it.
  2. Twice? I could almost be convinced that Randy is some sort of offspring of Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson. The admin and Bo were very lenient with Randy in his time here. Very lenient. But I'm another one of those that still laughs that in 2015 we are having a discussion about weed, and it's even news. This shouldn't cost him money, or at least I hope not. But, those are the rules, I guess.
  3. This is correct. Freeman left because his dad magically got a job in Kansas the week Josh was enrolling. Of course, Josh couldn't leave his father in Kansas all by himself. Strange how that worked out for his father and him, eh? Ganz is pretty FOS on this story.
  4. We used to hate the snow on weekends where recruits came to visit. This weekend, I've yet to hear a recruit paint it as a negative. Each and every one of them, especially the kids from the south, said they loved the snow. Again, change.
  5. Todd McShane ‏@TheToddMcShane OV Live Tweet: @hilaryobryan needs to work on her moves! Just took about 5 shots in the staff/recruit snowball fight! Sorry Hil! Cold and snowing for the southern recruits? Hey, let's make it fun for them and something they will certainly remember favorable. This is how you recruit. Love these guys.
  6. This is the result of effort and tenaciousness. So refreshing to see so much effort put into recruiting.
  7. Not exactly sure what you're getting at here? It's a reality that the vast majority of kids on Michigan's roster would never get into the school if not for football. It's true at Nebraska. It's true at Wisconsin. It's true in most state Universities simply because they do not take alot of out of state kids. Neal would easily get into Michigan, past the NCAA clearinghouse, and past Michigan admissions. And it's not that he would struggle academically either, because Neal is definitely a solid student with his 3.1 GPA. But if he were just a regular student applying, he would never get in because Michigan takes a very limited number of out of state students.
  8. This is Snyder's mother .. John Gaskins ‏@937JohnGaskins 7h7 hours ago Will Snyder pick #Huskers or Michigan? What about Barry? How many/which LB's? Recruiting w @BigRedBryan now on @937theticket susan snyder ‏@susansnyder13 @937JohnGaskins @BigRedBryan @937TheTicket for the record ...Snyder does have the grades to get into Michigan I like this woman.
  9. When a very old white guy is going into a minority family house, and makes a very snobbish remark about grades, it's never going to come off well. I mean, could he not say something like .. "At Michigan, we take academics very seriously. To give you an idea of how hard it is to get into Michigan, only X percent (because I don't know the exact amount) of out of state applicants even get in every year. You have the opportunity to be with a select few individuals to get to enjoy Michigan academics." I'm not a salesman, so it can definitely even be said better than I did. But there are so many ways Mattison could have went, but instead came off like a *insert other word for jerk here* ..
  10. Agreeing with the above. You're paying a coach nearly half a million dollars to be only a ST coach. For that amount of money, he should be finding Joe Schmo from the NW portion of North Dakota to walk-on here and be our long snapper for 4 years. In a year where we will not have a big class, the last thing we need to be doing is using a scholarship on a LS. Give a kid a greyshirt opportunity if need be. Tell him if in 2-3 years he proves his worth to the program, then there may be a scholarship available for him at that time.
  11. This is honestly one of the first times I have been excited about recruiting in about 6 years. This coaching staff, and especially this recruiting staff, they just get it. Brav-freaking-o! Hey, we're a recruiting tool and not a nuisance again. How refreshing!
  12. I think back to this .. Ekeler - GA when hired Papuchis - GA when hired Brown - Was out of football for years Cotton - Was an assistant at Ames HS Sanders - Was out of football Compare that to the experience on this staff. Trent Bray is the baby on this staff, and he has spent the last 5 years at Arizona State or Oregon State as a LBs coach. I don't doubt the coaching abilities of this staff. The talent and experience is there in that regard. I wanna see them prove it as recruiters though.
  13. Bo and Beck - the gift that keeps on giving. But I'm just gonna be honest here, this is a very questionable decision by Joe. JMO, but he wants to test himself and cut his own path. At OSU, he's gonna find out how good he really is and can be. That's commendable. But the reality is that even if Joe is incredibly talented, he may never get the ability to show that off. Look at Cordale. Kid is 3rd string, and he's THAT good? Here, he can come in and compete day 1 due to the fact we are going to more of a pro style attack. Of course, there is no guarantee he would start, but he would definitely have every opportunity for that to happen. Even after signing day, Jarrett Guarantano is going to announce, and the heavy favorite is Ohio State. Guarantano is arguably the best QB on the east coast for the class of 2016. Just another top QB that Burrow will have to compete with once Barrett and Jones are finished at OSU. It's my understanding that the family all wants Nebraska, due to them all mainly being diehard Husker fans, but Joe is dead set on Ohio State.
  14. "Green Bay did not complete the process of winning the game .."

  15. From my understanding, it doesn't have to do with Beck as a coach, but with Beck as a person. Allegedly, there was a very bad interaction between Joe, his dad, and Beck when Joe took a UOV to Nebraska before he committed to Ohio State.
  16. Let it hit closer to home - would any one here be comfortable having their daughter, sister, niece or even grand-daughter hanging around someone with a history like Moss? I sure as heck would not, and I'd severely question the University for why they would allow someone like that on campus. Sometimes things are about more than football. But some are questioning the UNL process - the University CANNOT just at a random time deny Avery the chance for re-admission. This suspension came with a timeline, which included an appeals process. The University cannot suddenly in June, even if they knew for a 100% fact Avery had no chance at getting back in, just decide Avery's case. This isn't about University policy, but about a Title IX case which is where the University has to abide by and watch federal laws. Avery is a big boy, who had a lawyer that advised him throughout this entire process. If Avery, nor the lawyer, could look at Avery's history at this University, and before he even arrived in Lincoln, and not be able to see it was a giant uphill battle for him to get reinstated, then I don't know what to say.
  17. Couple things.. Avery was never promised anything by the University in regards to being eligible once again. If Avery was promised anything, it was by certain coaches who thought they could control the situation. Avery was very aware from the beginning that he was only promised the opportunity for an appeal from the University, never a guaranteed reinstatement.
  18. I said this many months ago about Avery, but this is a liability issue for the school. If it was a one time thing, then the school would probably be more willing to let Avery back. But this has been a multiple incident thing with Avery. If the school lets him back, and another incident occurs, the school could be held liable just as much as Avery could be. I don't think the administration will think any player is worth that possibility. Maybe they will surprise me though. Personally, I wouldn't bet on it though. Ironic coming from someone named "big Willie" haha

  20. I'm still waiting for the heavy hitters on this staff .. I mean, it's nice that Riley is getting guys he can trust. But I'm gonna be honest, Riley is being a bit underwhelming when he is just making this his personal Oregon State of the midwest. Riley has resources and venues he has never had access to before. He needs to utilize them to aim bigger, and aim higher. Not be content with the same old because it's comfortable. That leads to complacency, and it's part of what killed 'he who shall not be named'. Hank Hughes name even being mentioned is another prime example. The guy has been around for 30 years, and his best job is Cincy or UConn. Ross Els had a similar resume. Now he's a potential co-DC? C'mon! Go get a heavy hitter. Go get a Tosh Lupoi. Go get an Ed Orgeron. If you have to give them a co-DC title to get them here, do it. I'll tell you one thing - if you aren't willing to go compete, and do it as the highest level with talent and coaching, you are gonna get left behind in this conference now. Michigan showed they are going to do what it takes. Harbaugh will be ruthless in coaching and recruiting. We already know what Urban will do. James Franklin is a tireless worker, especially as a recruiter. "Give them a chance to see what they can do .." I don't go buy a 20 year old pickup and hope that thing can get me where I need to go. I go top of the line and buy something where I know exactly what I'm getting. I don't need to worry, I don't need to wait to see what's gonna happen - I will know exactly what I'm gonna get.
  21. I just came to laugh at Jake Cotton, again. Cost us 5 yards. Then get lit up by a LB on the very next play. His career summed up, in 2 plays.
  22. This was Riley's guy. Was one of the first guys he targeted that he wanted apart of the program. IMO, that says alot about the guy.
  23. You don't have to look the article up, as I have no reason to believe you'd lie about something like that. Plus, it looks like others have referenced it. But in all honesty, Grobe was never even contacted about the job. Why Grobe acted like he was, I don't know? Only he can answer that. Maybe it was just for giggles that he got such a huge pay raise? Again, I don't know. I can still vividly remember how great of a troll that was by SarasotaHusker. He picked a random private flight that was coming out of NC and into Lincoln, saying Grobe was on the flight. He was laughing about doing this on another message board at the same time he was posting it on RSS. When McKewon picked it up, then ESPN, USA Today, and others picked it up, it legitimately became one of the best trolls I have ever witnessed.
