  1. Nope, wrong again, not a BCer, think the firing was the right thing to do. I think hiring Pelini was the right thing. But I also think Pelini looking the other way about this type of play, while we are be hammered on ESPN and SI for what Larry Asante has done the last two weeks. If Bo would just step up and do the right thing, maybe everyone could move on. Until he does, he will look classless and weak. Sorry, but this post stinks of a BCers thoughts. I was on the bigredboard long enough to know how you guys work. Maybe Bo should resign but before he does he should rip up the schollys of any player that was flagged this year.
  2. The people I have seen crying about this HAVE to be BCers, they have to be "fans" that loved all things BC and hate the new staff so they are looking for things to attack the coach about. Similar to the fans that hated BC and ripped on him for the throat slashing and all his lame quotes from his pressers. In my opinion this is nothing more then a fishing event with a BCer who not only is bent out of shape but also sees the writing on the wall that the firing was not only the correct thing to do but also that it is clear that Bo and his staff are not going to fail like they had hoped. BCers, remember, you are not really Husker fans.
  3. You are a total BCer, get over it. If you think that Gabbert is going to pick another school because his boyfriend Watson is getting yelled at then you are a bigger BCer then I thought.
  4. As a huge Husker fan I think sometimes us fans worry to much about what other fans are saying. They want to have fun and talk smack too, some of the Husker fans get to worked up and worried about it and take it personally. It is all in good fun and it is what sports are all about.
  5. They will probably take 20 in this class, kids leave all the time and I would expect that to happen this year too to open up a scholly or two. This is a good pick up, I know the BCers were freaking out that they were not getting any recruits and look now, wow.
  6. Its a big risk and a long throw for a punter to make. Also like the other poster said, there is a lot of faking that goes on with the blitzes.
  7. Go find a 0 star recruit that has made it into the NFL. Knowing what it means to be a husker doesnt just make athleticism appear. This is a bust Ummmm, every single player in the NFL before about 1994.
  8. Sometimes you guys remind me of the Villagers in Frankenstein. Just get on up the hill with the 'forks and torches and get it over with. Was this Board around when Zach Wiegert got a scholly? I could be wrong but I think his rating was fairly non-existent. Not that his guy is Zach...but give a guy a chance. Do any of you intentionally screw up if you have a great job? This is a great post! The kid can play, its that simple. Why doesnt he have other offers? For gods sake he lives in Lincoln and his dad is the freaking coach for the freaking team, why would any school bother trying to recruit him? It would be like asking out a nun. Stop ripping on a 17 year old and stop pretending like you are coaches. Its like the poster said, would you intentionally screw up if you have a great job? Nope. So let it go.
  9. I have been to tons of games, last night it rocked, but usually its kind of not as loud.
  10. He is visiting for the OU game, taking an unofficial.
  11. It probably depends how old you are. If you are over 21, just hit all the bars.
  12. We were tricked into thinking that the last staff new how to recruit, that was a joke, they left things very bare. The WRs are so average and they skiped a year of RB recruiting.
  13. This kid looks like he could be a stud
  14. Are you really trying to compare the Skutt Team to the Waverly team? Skutt is loaded, big time.
  15. Foolish exaggerations don't make your point, they make you look foolish. Just sayin'. Not to most people, its clear he is joking, it is basically satire. We have talked about this before, I am not sure why you either do not see humor in it or realize that it is humor. Either way, you should still get it. Now what looks foolish is your post about it, because everyone that read it probably rolled their eyes.
  16. I have heard from a few people that were that were there that it was BC that yelled it out.
  17. I know there is a love watson and hate waston divide right now, but I am starting to think that its not so much that the scheme is bad, you can win with any scheme if its used well (personally I like what the Ducks, UF and WVU run) but it seems like the other coaches in the league took about one year to figure Watson out. I know he called plays at CU but perhaps there was more influence from Barnett of what to call and if you really look at the numbers the stats were never great. I think what we might be seeing now is defensive coaches in the league who have looked at game film of Watsons NU offense for a year and now they are simply shutting it down. It could be that those coaches have adjusted and that Watson has not.
  18. Funny, if you post about Watson being a bad coach its okay, but if you yell it out then you are an idiot. Get over yourself.
  19. Well, I think there is a bit of a bias when it comes to rankings for kids that are from certain states. I could very well be wrong but lots of times it seems like the state the kid is from or who just offered them will affect the stars.
  20. What makes you say that? He looks good . . . but what makes you think he is THAT good? (I think rivals has him as a 4 star and the 17th best safety. . . and his measurables are decent.) Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, the area he plays in simply plays some of the best football in the state of Illinois. The conferences that he is in and around are flat out tough. High School football in Illinois is for real, I have a feeling that if this kid was in Cali, Texas or Florida he would be a 5 star guy. The school he goes to is/was terrible but the schools they play are very good and spend a ton of time with football. Many stars in IL have a hard time academically and end up at JCs and then go D1, that is why for a very long time College of Dupage, a JC, was basically the best JC in the nation each year. This is a kid that could end up being a 3 year starter at almost any school he goes to.
  21. If this kids grades are good then he will be the very best player in the NU class if he decides to play at NU. I would go as far as to say that he would be the very best player in almost any class in the nation.
  22. This pushes the Skers to 19th now, according to Scout, using the star avg method. That is impressive for a staff that "cant recruit".
  23. This is the type of kid that HAS to see the field early and often, if this offense makes things to freaking complex so that this kid doesnt play for 3 years then this offense is doing a poor job at helping NU win games. This is a Noel Devine type player, which means he needs to be catching screens, returning punts, kicks and getting the rock on handoffs. They need to find him 10 touches a game.
  24. USC's WCO isn't as complicated, they have a true freshman QB, a true freshman WR that gets playing time. NU isn't running their offense. NU doesn't have the WRs for it to work or the big time blue chip 4-5 star pro-style QBs. NU should be running a run/gun with true reads and options along with some power-I. I totally agree and also, thank you for responding to my thread. Good lord people, almost 100 views and only one response!!
