    This is sort of how it works Say there are 1000 kids at your school... 900 of the parents are you...normal, everyday people that give advice to their kids that sounds like this "Well, you are going to have to figure that out" 50 are parents that email teachers 2 minutes after that teacher updates grades 50 are parents that you never see, meet, hear from or even know are alive. The parents that get on the school board...they make up a huge % of the 50 that email right after a grade is posted. The crazies... The political part (and I might not understand what you mean) seems small and more like..."school politics" if that makes sense. It is hard to explain.

    Yep... Usually the "biggest" district sort of calls the shots.

    Depends where you are at I guess... Anyone that didn't retire from teaching should not be on it... Past admins should not be on (most ran away from teaching because they hate kids) Non-educators should never be on it. That makes no sense at all. Honestly, there should be no such thing as a school board. It is totally insane to think that even is a thing. But, public schools gave up their power years ago.

    I am all for college being free... I would also make sure I got a "divorce" right before junior went off to college to get under that 125K...or just never get "married"...

    I was going to add..."handles" are the big thing when it comes to the classification and/or label. You can be a lame athlete but if you have handles and vision...you are set.

    Getting the "true PG" label seems really rare now... Honestly, Allen Iverson today...probably gets the "Combo Guard" label.

    How would the sick leave work? Is it that you would get paid for the entire time you were sick or is it just that your job is still going to be there when you come back?

    My guess is probably?, He seems like a huge baby and also seems like a "I am going to take my ball and go home" type of person, you know the type! I am just glad people are starting to agree that it is okay to call politicians names and make fun of them WITHOUT getting a warning or vacation. Because I got in "trouble" for it in the past and it was wrong to get in trouble for it then and it is wrong now.

      Voluntarily - not much. Just bought some extra food.

      I'm dreading when my company decides we have to work from home. That's how I get away from Elaida.

      Wife and I are working from home full time starting Monday.  Also kids will be out of school for at least 3 weeks because of this.  Bought a lot of extra freezer food (just in case).  We are going to do our best to isolate through this week and see how it goes.  I may need to go for a 30 minute drive every day to get out of the house.

       

      If you haven't seen it, that WaPo simulation on social distancing left an impression on my wife and me.  We figure its a small inconvenience for us to help flatten the curve is worth it.

      I'm scheduled to attend a meeting in another town today.  I'm going to call and let them know I've had a headache and upset stomach starting about the middle of last night, but would still be willing to come to the meeting.  I'm guessing they pull the plug on our meeting.  lol

    That is an interesting take! I 100% agree! There should be no warnings or bannings for making fun of a person (in this case a political figure) unless they themselves are posting here.

    Amen! TDS, Orange Man, Oompa Loompa... All that stuff should be stopped and the people that use them should get a warning.

    I had a friend a few years back who had used up all her sick days/days off...her daughters graduation from college was coming up but she was going to be docked pay for attending...about 10 staff members "offered up" their days off for her to use...my loser boss refused to let them do that. She was a horrible boss. Still pissed me off.

    The more I read about the lockdown restrictions that Italy and Spain have in place...the more I realize that I have pretty much been in a self-imposed lockdown for a long a$$ time. I am pretty much always home by 8pm...I only really go out to the store for food and booze...if I do hit up a bar it is for happy hour and I don't travel.
