  1. I think the people that are bringing it up mean it in a "It is not a big deal" way... Like them drinking in college but not being 21... I mean, these guys "violate" NCAA rules every time they take an extra T-shirt from the gear room, or when they sell their player tickets or when a fan pays for the pizza or when they get a free drink at the bars.
  2. Why don't they have a better air filter in those dorms! Coaches Bar: Barry's Players Bar: Starlight Lounge Hahaha
  3. I coach with a guy that played at Peru State (How is that a state?) and I asked him if the coaches told them to not drink/smoke...he said something like this... "Oh God yeah, all the time...but in the town there is like 2 bars and all the coaches go to the bars too...so we go and they go and we sort of just pretend we don't notice each other" No kidding! List the number of times you called the cops in college? My number is the same number of times that I scored some beave...Zero.
  4. If I am a coach at a big school...I have a "I know you are going to do it but don't get f#&%ing caught" meeting.
  5. Are some of you starting to realize that all these dudes smoke and drink? I know some of you think this is not part of "Frost's Culture" but you gotta realize once again...the change in culture is about being a badass, lifting, not skipping workouts, showing up to EVERYTHING that is about the team...
  6. Build a f#&%ing statue if he gets either O'Connor or Casey. Also...I think Casey might be a little miffed with OSU.
  7. Since moving out of your "home" how many roommates have you had?  I was in a frat so I will only count the ones that lived in my room (not the entire house)

    Total: 12

Well...I feel like you can count them all!

My motto is "count them all". After all, you should never count yourself short.

I have 3 roommates now (wife, son, daughter).  4 if you count my dog.

  8. I totally get what you are saying and it makes sense. I hope he stays on the team and runs for 1000 yards and 10 TD's this year...
  9. Interesting, I think that since it is public it will 100% change the consequence.
  10. What about going 75 over the speed limit in a school zone? Which is worse? All these "young men" on team will become adults...no matter what the team rules and team culture is/says. My guess is that 99% of the guys on the team will "grow up" to be pretty good regular guys.
  11. I totally get what you are saying and it makes sense but I don't think it means it is fair. This SHOULD be in a vacuum, about 5 people should know about this, tops. Lets not pretend that his name should be plastered all over social media and posting sites because he has a sports scholarship. Maybe you have kids, I don't know...But if you do I can guarantee you would not want all this on them...no matter what they did. This s#!t should not be public, it is foolish that it is and frankly it is disgusting that it is public and clearly is not fair.
  12. Yep! Plus, they get crucified for the same s#!t most of us did. I drank or had booze in my dorm freshman year as often as I could. It was also always around in my frat house and I don't remember checking ID's when we had parties.
  13. I know this is a popular thing to say/think but people really need to understand what this means. The idea that players will be out a party (or bar or dorm room) and some booze is being passed around or a joint is being passed around and it gets to the player and he shakes his head and goes "Nope, none for me...I have to think about the team first" is really not realistic. The "culture" is about winning and lifting and being a badass. It is about being on time and paying attention...it is about playing through pain...it is about showing up to extra team stuff, lifting, running plays, going out to eat. Don't get me wrong, every coach in America at all levels wants their players to be in bed by 9pm each night, never miss class, call everyone "Sir and Ma'am" and never drink or smoke or speed or roll through a stop sign...but they are also realistic.
  14. Might be tough to take selfies with that thing but I think you will be fine getting it in.
  15. They have so much money, they have to spend it somewhere. Unless you are Indiana...then you make sure you don't spend one dime on the football program.
  16. Me too! The "cool" thing now...parents that host after prom parties but take the kids keys...and let them drink in their house.
  17. This is why I always wear a Michael Myers mask when I bang... The killer...not the comedian
  18. No kidding... Do some of you posters think the guys on the team are NOT smoking pot and drinking?
  19. CBB coaches probably don't make crazy jack for the most part...so look at the top 10 coaches and start making offers that will be tough to refuse. The Big Ten is printing money.
  20. I totally get the wanting to retire thing but sometimes these guys make it sound like no one else has to work full time and that they are the only ones that "don't get to see their kids grow up" I would venture (who remembers that store?) to guess that DE had way more downtime and the resources to spend way more time with his family/kids than probably 90% of the working population. Also, how much time can you spend with your family? Shoot, if I was DE I would keep my coaching job and get a part time gig to spend even less time at home...hahahaha
  21. Just my guess...him being alive still probably changes the movie a bit. This seems like something that should have been done after he died.
  22. Ha! One of the annoying things is the morons that grab the wrong helmet, get hit, buzzer goes off and now the trainer is looking for the kid who is SUPPOSED to be in that helmet instead of the guy actually wearing it.
