  1. The sad part is that the Huskers have fallen so far that this is a thing we actually respond to now. Ugggg!
  2. Holy cow, great call on Risky Business! That movie would be rated NC-17 and there would be people protesting the theaters that DARED to show it! Porkys would never even be made! Could you imagine the outrage! I can still remember staying up late to watch Porkys on Cinemax, I think. Animal House would have a chance but clearly there would be some heavy editing to make some people happy. Weird Science, another great call! Man, I assume it would have to be rated R today and that again there would be a certain crowd that found a lot of it offensive.
  3. I will start, Just One of The Guys. Reasons people would pretend to be outraged if it came out today: 1. Female feels she can't get a fair shot at being taken seriously so she pretends to be a male 2. Yuppie wealthy white boyfriend 3. Horny younger brother that wants to lose virginity 4. High school guys acting macho and being bullies 5. Boobs are shown Things they would have to change: 1. Teri files a discrimination claim against the school district she lives in, the case goes to the Supreme Court and in doing so she helps bankrupt the district but the good news is she's gets to publish her article on the schools cafeteria food being of poor quality. Anyone got another?
  4. I want to see Mike Riley succeed. But if the Huskers do collapse and have another 5-7 regular season in 2017...it would be a difficult case to make justifying a 4th year. My expectations for this team are 3 losses or less. Let's start by breaking the 4 loss "curse." You're in for a big let down. New defense and a new QB. These aren't little things. Kinda seems like this will be the first year that we have a QB - No let down from that standpoint Do we? He wasn't recruited out of high school and didn't exactly light it up and lowly Tulane. These unrealistically high expectations are the reason why this board goes ape poop when we lose. Coach Osborne is gone and we're a middle of the road program. We haven't won a conference title since 2001. We are pretty good against Northwestern and Illinois. Not so much against Iowa or Wisconsin. Yes, not so good against Iowa or Wisconsin and last year's game against OSU was the most telling game about this program. Temper those expectations, fellow Husker fans. You'll feel better about the losses. If Tanner Lee won the starting job at Iowa or Wisconsin we would be laughing about it
  5. Just One of The Guys...GREAT 80's movie! Teri had an amazing rack. Plus 2...if you know what I mean* *Apologies to all of those that are offended.
  6. I wonder, with Trump winning, if there will be more "non-traditional" candidates running.
  7. Really quick...did the players stop not buying in to beat MSU and UCLA and Oregon? I always get confused how the virus works.
  8. Just One of The Guys...GREAT 80's movie!
  9. I am planning on going but I will probably get tickets the day of the game.
  10. At the D1 level. Its not an issue. Fans like to claim it as one so they can have an excuse for when the team stinks. It really isn't a huge issue, Coach is right. Yeah you have to learn some new verbage but these guys are not morons and they practice and rep a ton. Now...where the issues might be is with certain players "fitting" but really learning the new stuff is not as hard as some of the fans would like it to be. Side note. I once "installed" a brand new defense for a high school (3-5-3) during pregame, about 5-10 minutes on a marker board. Then another 5 minutes on the field. We lost the game 14-6 in OT...on of the TD's the other team scored was on a punt return for a TD. It was the least amount of points we let up all year by far. Look at trick plays...you might practice those 5 times, total...and then you are good to go. The players get it. If it's so easy to install a new offense, why did your team only score 6 points? Sounds to me like the defense carried the team to OT that day while the offense didn't live up to its billing. We didn't install a new offense that day...used the same one we had all year.
  11. There are one heck of a lot of very good QBs that aren't well liked by their team. That includes some of our most prized alumni. Yep
  12. Talk...just talk. Coaches love to be super "smart" and make things hard even though they preach all the time about "keeping things simple" Do you think Bo just wasn't good at teaching his scheme? Or what? I doubt it, I think what happens is (and I have done this too) you get your basic stuff installed quickly...so then you start thinking "Hmmm, we can install some more stuff here and there" and before you know it you have put in a bunch of stuff that you will never actually use. Once the game starts most coaches stick with that they know and trust. Then the main thing to remember is this...the other team is trying to win too. So like when you have installed might be perfect IF the offense does exactly what you expect them too.

  16. New Quarterback, Defense, career 500 coach and you are all in for $1000? Funny.☺️ Wait...don't you remember that he is only a career 500 coach because of the places he coached at? It has nothing to do with NU...because at NU he is 15-12.
  17. Sounds like they are predicting Riley to be fired.
  18. I get what you are saying but I think people need to stop with this idea that the players so mentally fragile. Like, Lightbourne had a hard time punting because SF died...No, that is probably not the case. CL was an 18 year old kid that had to fill the shoes of SF that was looking to cap his college career with an all-American type season / was considered to be EVERYTHING that represents a Nebraska kid playing big time football at NU and unfortunately lost his life way before his time. If you don't think that mentally weighted on our punting stats for last year then we can agree to disagree. It didn't. We really need to stop pretending like the Husker players are the most fragile weak minded people on the planet.
  19. If the last name was Riley those fans would have an erection
