  1. Why? Because they don't try hard enough to control their congregation? Court rules atheism a religion “Calling Atheism a religion is like calling bald a hair colour” Like I said, by it's very definition atheism isn't a religion. That court ruling doesn't change that. Everyone on earth is born atheist until someone convinces them there's a magical, invisible sky fairy. How about that big explosion from nothingness? That is just as ridiculous to believe. Or that we evolved from monkeys. How come we aren't evolving now? Or how come there are still gorillas in the zoo? How come they don't become human. You don't know til you die, so stop insulting billions of people. Thanks! There is actual evidence that suggests we evolved, and are still evolving. There's absolutely zero evidence a magic sky fairy exists. Fact. I wasn't insulting anyone. Why would gorillas become human? They've made it this far with the evolutionary advantages they've adapted. Much like humans. It's not like we evolved from modern day gorillas or chimps. We just share a common ancestor. Evolution isn't a straight line. There's tons of literature about evolution at your finger tips, but if you're happy remaining ignorant to the subject then you're just insulting yourself. Believe what you want. You and I will find out one day, but unfortunately neither of us will be able to tell the other I told you so. If you don't believe in God, leave it at that. Don't insult people by calling God a magical, invisible sky fairy bc God is important to a lot of people. Maybe even some people you care about. I didn't insult anyone. I just stated a fact. If that insults you that has much more to do with you than me. By the Cristian description of him, he is a magical, invisible sky fairy. If you want to believe in God, that's your prerogative. Just as it's my prerogative to dismiss it as a silly fairy tale. I didn't intend to insult anyone, sorry if it does. Like I said that has more to do with you than me.
  2. If you think about it, everything we do is human nature.

  4. Do you have a source for this? I couldn't find anything.
  5. Seems like a good fit. Hope he has some success.
  6. I doubt it would be the deciding factor, but recruits do look at this kind of stuff.
  7. Very well said and very, very true.
  8. Well yeah, it kinda does. Is leading people not a function of leadership? It just leaves it up to debate to what degree his leadership skills have improved. Which will always be up for debate as it's very subjective. Some people have their minds made up and will ignore whatever evidence contradicts their stance and focus on whatever evidence supports it. Yes but if you helped a new co worker, does everybody stand up and shout "He is a leader!!!" Probably not. He is just helping a new teammate get his feet wet. Its no different than any other player on that team. Lets wait till atleast fall camp before we start the "Martinez is a leader" campaign. This thread is a joke. I don't remember many people proclaiming he's a great leader. Just a little light ribbing for people who tend to discredit the evidence that his leadership skills are, in fact, improving. Not really a big deal.

  11. Overall the offense is a little younger and more inexperienced this year, and Martinez is a little older and more experienced. Just sayin'.

  13. Nebraska - 63 Iowa - 3
  14. I agree about Marcel, he was looking like our best lineman before the injuries.
  15. I haven't seen anything from Stien to suggest he's anything other than a below average to average DT. Crick was light years ahead of him as a Sophmore.
  16. Part of me wonders if it has anything to do with Pelini's system. DEs don't seem to cause much of a ruckus in his defenses. During the MNC game when he was at LSU I remember the announcers talking about the dominating "triangle" on Pelini's defense (two DTs and a MLB). The ends didn't make much noise on that defense, at least during that game. Seems to be a pattern.
  17. Agreed, and considering the coaching staff, there's no reason to think Stein, Crick, and Stache won't improve. Well, Allen may be one reason to think that, but I'm pretty certain he's the exception and not the rule. Couldn't agree more.
  18. 70 tackles & 9.5 Sacks for a defensive tackle is a B+ grade? I understand Suh raised the bar 'round these parts, but if he only had a B+ season it must have been a very down year for Big XII defensive lineman as he was the best. That being said I would grade Steinkuhler a little lower. He should be riding the pine if we're as deep as they say we are, unless he starts living up to those 5 stars. High school ratings mean nothing compared to a career in college, just look at Marlon Lucky. What matters is what you do in college. I felt Steinkuhler performed better than Allen did, but its also due to Steinkuhler's performance that Crick's performance was rated as low. Crick had 73 tackles standing next to Suh, if Steinkuhler lived up to his hype that would have taken pressure off of Crick and he would have had better than 70 tackles and perhaps more hurries, sacks, and tackles for loss. I seem to remember Suh saying that Crick had the potential to be better than he was at Nebraska. So far i haven't seen that potential just yet. All fair points, but when you take Suh's hyperbolic comment away, and you take all that other stuff away, and step back and look at it... those are pretty rare, out-of-this-world stats for a defensive tackle. If you haven't seen that kind of potential, then you didn't see the Big XII Championship. Crick was in beast mode. Also, Suh's Junior stats are very, very comparable to Crick's Junior stats. 76 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 19 TFL (to Crick's 17 TFL). The potential is undoubtably there. Will he have a better Senior season than Suh? Very, very doubtful, but it's unfair to Crick to be expected to just because Suh was using hyperbole to talk up his buddy. I give Crick a solid A for last year, an A- at the very worst.
  19. I think Seinfeld is the most overrated show in history. I even somewhat like it, but it gets waaaaaaay too much praise.
