  1. The only thing I saw was at the game that I felt was classless was the chants about F*** Nebraska, and F*** Bo Pelini. I get being hyped up. But thats pretty low. That and the Kstate fan that seriously pull out a cigarette and smoked it without a care in the world, right next to about 1 or 2 pregnant women i might add. My first Kstate game, thankfully my last.
  2. I grew up on the knock off KOOL-AID, and I just liked sending the subliminal message that I am cool.
  3. I hear what your saying, and I don't really disagree.....if they are taking yards in big chunks. BUT here is what I am saying. Our Seconday isn't as good as it is because of the skill players. Its as good as it is because they play team football in the secondary, they have a scheme and they follow it. Plug in 8 guys in the box, and its not the same secondary, and maybe they get beat a few times. Suddenly now our D isn't as good as everyone thought it is. Kstate has won four games on the back of Thomas, and not by blow outs. They have had to grinde them out in tough physical games against worse teams then Nebraska. Thomas is going to get his yards, there isn't any stoping that. Much like Carl Pelini said in that artical from the other day. Make them earn it on the ground and don't give them the big yards. Those big plays coule be the difference between a 35-35 game going into the final drive or a 35(NU) to >21 (KSU). As I suspect it will be the second choice if the play consistent with their scheme thus far.
  4. I keep reading posts from I think we very well could lose this game, to stomp them 30 something to nothing. Slow down on the COOL-AID husker nation! Here is my two cents, and maybe it might bring some of us up off the Debbie Downer level, or down from the Clound Nine level...Simply a reality check. Carl Pelini is right on target when they talked about making teams earn it here, I don't think its to the point where we start wondering if Martinez is the real deal or not, consider what we saw out of Zac last year and it was the most unproductive offense I could of ever imagined almost on a weekly basis. Cody Green hasn't shown that he has "IT" yet, and I think that is why we are seeing the talent choice on the field rather then the safe choice. So the choice was obvious at the start of the season by the coaches and apparently obvious this far in the season by everyone else. We were flat last week, so its nothing to start panicing on the offense side. the deffense side....not making excuses but something to consider when thinking about how bad of a game we played, they moved the ball against us some, we allowed 3 points to a team with an amped up and playing out of their a$$es, but they didn't earn the points. Give Nebraska that much. If that was Kstate playing like that, and us like how we played, it would of been a very very dissapointing day. Also remember that a lot of the guys on the field last week opposite of the Huskers grew up watching the very team they were playing against. Think of how much it means to have all of their family and all of their friends watching them play. Most will play with 200% effort, and thats what we saw, but still the huskers played flat, and unfocused and should of had a lot more on the board then 17 points, and won. So, with that being said. yeah, maybe Kstate is able to move the ball against us, and they will have to earn it every play, every down, I see them not always getting that 5-10 yard gaines every run, but maybe a 5, then a 3, then a no gain more often then continuously getting that first down. Kstate is tied for 59th in 3rd down conversions, granted nebraska is only tied for 54th them selves, but Kstate has gotten to 4-0 by grounding and pounding and being very physical and winning games with dirty running through their vains, and not by a lot of points. Where as Nebraska is putting together drives, and frequent big plays resulting in huge gains leading into touchdowns, which just destroys a defense's ego. Nebraska wins this game by daring Kstate to beat them with Thomas's legs, and with ballhawking the times they decide to go to the air. Forcing Kstate to be 1-D. Thomas has a good game with well over a hundred yards and probably a TD or two, and inflates his Heisman status and dinging Nebraska for 20 points. The Huskers get into rythm with some passes when they count (approx 150 yards), and does another 150-250 yards on the game, and scores a good amount of points (35). If Nebraska loses this game it will be much like the way they lost the game against Iowa State last year, and not because Kstate beats Nebraska. Expect Nebraska to come out with a chip on their sholder, with something to prove and very focused on handling this team just how Pelini wants them too, I also expect Kstate to compete and makes the Huskers walk off the field thinking they just played a good Kstate team. Nebraska wins 35-20 Soo, how far am I off base? By the way, resume the COOL-AID about an hour till Kick off till about an hour after that, after that...lay off of it. GBR!!!!
  5. I agree. I dont think there has been much holding back, I just think we have been so Vanilla because that is what Zenitram can handle. If you presume that we have used the zone read so much as to perfect it at game speed, you would need to presume that the same thing needs to be done with downfield passing. I just dont think we have much of a threat to go deep and that is why it has not been used. If we havent used it in the ooc or even practiced it in a game, then why would waiting till a 1/4 of the way into the season do any good, especially agianst significantly more difficult competition. This idea that we are all of a sudden going to break out offensive philosophies that havent been practiced in a game untill now is just asinine. Aside from trick plays, what we have seen so far is what we are going to get the rest of the season. Zone read, power running, with short to medium range passes setup off of play action. That is our offense. It prevents Zenitram from getting into situations where he can make mistakes and cost us a game. Zenitram will keep defenses on their toes with his ability to run and scramble. Dont look for an expanded down the field passing attack untill next year or the year after once he becomes more comfortable and improves his passing. Exactly, otherwise, you'd play with a new playbook every week, and its just that easy. SO SO Easy. The only thing I'd expect to see is a bit of Wildcat like the holiday bowl.
  6. I don't want to be a Negitive Nancy here, but I do remember a game from last year where we only scored 7 points with a ton, and I mean a ton of turn overs. even with the offense last year, none of us expected that to happen. Anything is possible, and KSU has a habit of beating teams they are no where near talent wise. Never under estimate the power of what heart can bring to compitition. Sometimes everything just clicks. Hopefully we wipe the floor with them, but what ever the odds are to completely blow it out, it could be just as likely that we get whipped even if we come prepared. I say, lets just enjoy the ride this year...It could be something to remember for a long time.
  7. Sundays mean the furthest day from huskerfootball.

  8. I am guessing that rule in place for the same reason us Law Enforcement guys aren't allowed to take free food. You never know when it might be poisoned. I could see where fans of an opposing team working at Wendy's moping the floor with the hamburger pattie and fries.
  9. Are there any estimates out there on how many Husker fans are expected? I know when we played Wake Forest a few years ago there were estimates before the game of around 25k and on tv it certainly looked plausible. Didn't see the link anywhere about the "estimated 20-25k" so I thought I would post it.its a good read. makes me wish we had such a group for the wichita area. first paragraph
  10. whoa!hey guys, its not that she is requring it. They are student ticket. If I go I have to sit in the student section.
  11. I seriously don't know what to do. I thought really you guys are the ones that would give me the correct advice.
  12. If I were Zac Lee, Wait a second lemme step into his body for a second. Dudes, whats happenin I am ZAC LEE BRA!....I would like to say that I am be pretty happy at the fact that in 2009 I was part of a Nebraska football team, infact, I was the starting quarterback for the Nebraska Cornhuskers who, almost upset VA Tech at home, Beat OU for the first time a few times, got to play on the opposite side of the ball to the most awesome defensive linemen ever (SUH), won the big 12 north, came withing a point, and a second of blowing up the BSC. Almost Beat Texas in Dallas on the biggest stage in the nation at that moment, and wining the CC. (everyone was watching that game) came withing 4 stinking points of playing for quite possibly a national championship (1pt VA Tech) (1pt Texas) (2pts ISU). And have the first shut out in the Holiday bowl, while vindicating that my awefulence wasn't so aweful in that game. All as a starter. Throw in what I goet to be part of in 2008, and get to be in 2010 as being a member of the team. Really I don't think I have all that much to complain about. Now, I am me again. So after entering his body...we all now know that he's not pissed......lets move on. can we get a lock in here, cuz this is getting outta control....me included
  13. I have a feeling that each are going to get a start with Lee starting on in washington. that would put green next week. though not all equal as far as the talent of the opposition, but equal in terms of experience. I didn't get to see T.M. play tonight, and so I have a bit of an outward looking in perspective. I think come Big12 play who ever starts that game is the starter for the rest of the season with considerations of injuries. till then is exibition games for all....which is why lee gets the nod in washington. my .02
  14. Fro, Though I am not a regular poster, I do however read most everything on here, and don't disagree with you much about how people freak easily. Living some time in Missouri as a small kid I too rooted for the Tigers. That is until I was old enough to realize where my roots are from, and switch teams. But under all of the huskerness in me, I still root for them. Just not that one time year. Anyways, keep coming with the different perspective. The more poster of a different nature is always better when it comes out in good fun.
  15. When it comes to rankings. I don't understand how they can place Boise State, and TCU and all so high. They play one legit team maybe more, but its just seems to be a little "love the little guys" syndrome to put them this high. Put them in a conference with just the likes of K-state, TAMU, Missouri, Kansas....yada yada yada, and watch them win more then they lose, but nothing like they do now. Any team can beat anyone on a Saturday. But who a team really is comes out at the end of a season when they've played good competition through out the year. How would Nebraska be viewed if did the same thing. Joined the WAC, and dominated, and played for a NC every year. NOthing would stop us ever for playing. Rankings period are not worth the paper written on, or even they keyboards they are typed on. But this is the world we live in. *I don't know why I am adding this, but every time i start a new season on NCAA CF11, I put every non-bcs school in the rankings on my schedule, so i can dominate their crappiness* ha ha ha ha
  16. So...I am not going to sit around and read through all of the responses because I want to think I am contributing, and not just being a repeater Tilted Quilt is awesome if you like scottish food and girls to gawk at. Its just next to the baseball field. Coranado Island, and has a BBQ place that seems to be the only place that serves decent "sweet" tea. and good bbq to boot USS Midway is cool Hiking just about an hour or so away I saw the gaslamp already, and its worth going to. Old town is just abunch of mexican resturants. but some good shops Take the Trolly around Downtown, and just be amazed at the weird things you'll see. I saw a guy in an astronaut costume and a girl wearing underwear with boots by a lawfirm stripmall. Just go to the beach. Always a good way to spend the day
  17. I'd be coming from Wichita as well, and would also like confirmation. I'd be down with that aswell if i can get off of work...bahhhumbug
  18. For this team..... No one knows this offense better then Joe Ganz Ganz is exactly what we need on offense...Defense will be good enough to compete with any team
  19. Yeah...I can't read more then about two lines of all of that crap
  20. Really, you are posting an article from Sunday and leading your post with the "The Plot Thickens" apparently so.....forgive me for my retardedness
  21. Hmmmm I don't know if this has been posted yet, but for the poeple who are thinking that all this conference realignment is to force the BCS into a playoff system...might think differently after this...and it show's how stupid of a commissioner Beebe is..at least I think so after reading this.
  22. Suppose it could be that way....but I think it makes the move that Bo might have made from NU to Ohio State less of an option now *if we join the big10* If that was ever his goal...I'd say he has mixed feelings
  23. Not seeing anything that hasn't been said already. what areyou watching...sportcenter?
