  1. And we have a winner! We've always known (or expected) that when the Big 12 TV deal was up, it would be able to negotiate rates more in line with the other major conferences. Texas didn't learn anything new with this groundbreaking information on new TV deals, they just didn't want to appear like the prima donna they are.
  2. Wow, this isn't just a rumor, those 5 schools are really handing over their share of the buyout penalty. That's ridiculous. CBSSports.com
  3. Can someone post the article? I saw the headline on CBSSports.com, but TMZ is blocked at work for some reason...
  4. i dont know why you would want CSU over Utah they are pretty weak all over and having them in the big-12 just for the sets is worthless because it seems nobody really cares about them anyways........ if the big-12 were ballsy they would make a push for those big east schools but thats not going to happen The only advantage I can think of for CSU would be geography. They're closer than Utah and maintain a presence for the Big 12 in the Denver market (albeit a small one). Utah is far superior in both football and basketball and has a decent academic reputation, but would they leave without BYU?
  5. If Mizzou goes and the conference stays together, the Big 12 will have to target Colorado State or Utah. I've seen Air Force get thrown around on some boards, but I just can't see a service academy being in a major conference.
  6. Would you care to name them for me????
  7. I'm 22 and have used Benny's system and I really think it's the way to go. I paid $500 to get my '95 Subaru fixed about 6 months ago and have been putting away money for a new car. I'm up to almost $3000 at this point, so if I can keep it running another 6 months or a year I'll be able to upgrade without a car loan. Also, I've had a credit card since I was 18 and use it sparingly only for food, gas, and utilities, but it really helped my credit score when going out for a mortgage on the house I just bought. But again, credit card debt is just about the worst type of debt, so it's only worth getting a credit card if you're responsible about paying it off completely every month.
  8. Boston College http://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/player-Christian-Suntrup-99826
  9. More than happy to spare a QB, but it looks like you just got one. How about Haynesworth for the first pick tomorrow?
  10. Yeah, as a skins fan, I wouldn't mind the trade either. Carter wasn't happy in a 3-4 in SF, so I really don't see him fitting in anymore. Carriker is really built to be an ideal 3-4 end, so if he could put his injuries behind him, the skins could get great value. It's a bit of a risk, but Carter's pretty much useless to us at this point so getting Carriker for him would be better than releasing him.
  11. Grades before football at OU Of course that's how they made it seem. Did he think OU was actually going to tell him that they don't care about academics when they're important to him?
  12. Cooper took us up to 1407, now if we can get Owa...
  13. Signed, not that there was any doubt.
  14. Even if we don't land Owa, I would think the scholly would be saved for next year. Or maybe even used to give Marsh a scholly instead of a greyshirt. I'm all for line depth, but if the staff hasn't offered him yet, I'm not sure they're going to.
  15. All you missed is a bunch of confusion. Carnes says he hasn't committed yet and will announce for WKU or NU on signing day, but his coaches say he's already committed to WKU. So the final announcement will be Wednesday, but the decision may have already been made. Confusing enough?
  16. I really wish my wife and I were going. I would easily do the 12 hour drive from Utah, but we're going to have about a 1 month old baby at the time, so we probably won't be able to make the trip this time. Maybe if that 2-for-1 with Boise State goes through...
  17. Thanks Nexus, good info. So basically, it looks like the interest is mutual, but we may be waiting to offer a scholly until we see what happens this weekend with Carnes.
  18. The logic that BSU shouldn't get a payout if they're a major college program is true...as long as we schedule it as a home-and-home so each team gets a share of the revenue. When we only play a team in Lincoln, we always give them pretty good chunk of change for coming. BSU asking for $1 million is really not that unreasonable relative to what we pay the other OOC teams when you consider the quality of the opponent.
  19. This contract also has a clause in it that extends the contract a year every year OSU goes to a bowl. So as long as Riley keeps OSU in a bowl game every year, he indeed has a lifetime contract.
  20. i agree, at this point he is a 3rd rounder, at best. he needs another year to move up another round in the draft. good kid, solid, but hardly a star yet. For what it's worth, I was browsing the CBSSports mock drafts and one of them has Prince as a late first-rounder. link
  21. This is by no means an easy game. I'd rather play Stanford (just to see Gerhart vs Suh), but Arizona is every bit as deserving of this game as we are.
  22. Scary thought!!!! Bo thinks this unit is going to be better than this years. Can you imagine the point total being less than this year??? Was the scoring defense a record this year? No wise cracks about the offense, please. Sorry, next years unit!!! Yeah, and Watson said Zac Lee was almost as good as Joe Ganz. IMO, that's just coach speak. Not that next year's defense won't be good, but it's hard for the defense to get better while losing one of the best defensive players ever.
  23. Kind of contradicting yourself there if he was deemed to have been stopped inbounds then why was there a replay at all to check the clock? The ref usually does the arm twirl thing to keep the clock going but in the game you can see he blew the whistle to stop the clock and the WR was running towards the sideline not forward to get out of bounds. Actually, he blew his whistle and motioned with his arm to keep the clock running at the same time (like the refs do at the end of most in-bounds plays). It was ruled that his forward progress stopped, so he wasn't out of bounds and clock didn't stop. I'm really not sure why they reviewed it, but the review agreed with the original call, so what's the big deal?
  24. After ours or his?? Thanks in advance After his, which is on 12/6
