  1. I have no idea what is going on in this thread, so I'm just going to post some of these:
  2. If that's the case, what bothers me is he was still our best available QB, even with a significant injury to his throwing arm! Hope he recovers and is able to play like a Sun Belt Champion ALL SEASON next year!
  3. One thing to note about Colter is that he injured his shoulder in September, which (at least temporarily?) ended his season at QB. He opted to delay surgery and played WR and RB, though. http://www.maxpreps.com/news/op9OFqLnEd6OE...ll-notebook.htm This article is old - did he go back to playing QB?
  4. Get this kid the ball! I'm excited to see him play. Too bad his first experiences with Nebraska will be practicing against our defense...but that might make him better in the long run!
  5. My only concern is that he'd commit, then de-commit, then re-commit, etc like his uncle.
  6. My thoughts are we'll get a couple of FGs, and one or two TDs - but any TDs will come off of good defensive or special teams plays (turnover, good return, etc). We might be able to reel off a good ground-based drive towards the end of the game to kill some clock.

I assumed it was a small penis joke. And yea I check out those boards every once in a while and oftentimes its 50% or more about the Huskers or other North teams. Tigerboard averages about 80% posts about other teams unless it's during a Mizzou game. Must suck to be those fans sometimes.
  8. I've heard the rumor about him contacting NU, but you'd think NU would eventually show up in his lists of interested schools on Rivals or Scout. So far, no NU. So color me skeptical, but that would be incredible.
  9. SUH WINS http://twitter.com/LombardiAward "The winner of the 2009 Rotary Lombardi Award is ... Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh"
  10. And Jamrog was the HC. Interesting. Off topic, but I had no idea about this. I'm at MnSU now for grad school, and now I'm totally geeking out over this. My wife and I get crap about being Husker fans all the time here, so it's nice to know there's a Husker connection here. What a small world. I know, cool story bro. </end OT blabbing>
  11. Thanks CC and TG for opening up some spaces for real meN! Welcome N David!
  12. dspanther05 Thanks for posting the facebook screen cap - a picture of words is worth a thousand words. Interesting that he is using his HUSKERS ILLUSTRATED picture for his profile pic... The real bummer here is that he thinks that the offense we ran in the last half of the season with Zac Lee as QB will be the same that we run for the next half of a decade. Kids his age don't really think about the long term, and this is a good example. However, I DEFINITELY do not blame him, and wish him the best of luck except against our BLACKSHIRTS. Hope he picks TCU...he should consult with Winless Freeman and Gimpy McGabbert about what happens when you decommit and move to another Big 12 school.
  13. Do you have access to his facebook profile? If so, post a screen cap of whatever he says. This will help increase the credibility of "i saw it on facebook" information.
  14. I just had a brainfart moment. I saw those rankings and thought "holy crap Watson has had a top 10ish offense every year? Maybe he's better than I thought?!" until I realized that, as the title clearly states, those are Big XII rankings. That makes much more sense. Ouch indeed.
  15. Personally I think it's a great idea. How many years have fans complained about who won the Heisman and how the Heisman is a popularity contest. This is sort of a way for the fans to have some input, however little it is, into who should win the Heisman. I'm torn on it. On one hand it's good for the fan perspective, but on the other it's extremely susceptible to automated voting, cookie-clearing, multi-voting shenanigans that the internet allows. It's no longer about who you think is best as it is a test of which homers can spend more time on the internet voting for their guy (or against an opposing team's guy). I personally feel that Suh is the best football player out there, but even if I thought someone else was better, I'd still vote for Suh...because I'm a homer. That's why I don't completely dig the fan voting option.
  16. OR... Maybe the refs were from Texas because it has a huge population, a strong football tradition, and the game was in Texas? Maybe the Huskers played like crap and made stupid mistakes and that's why they lost? I dunno just throwing out some Occam's Razor-inspired ideas to play the devil's advocate, I guess.
  17. We lost because of long term issues (our offense) and stupid mistakes at the worst possible time. The refs had very little to do with it. Great teams overcome a few bad calls, or at least put themselves in a position in which the bad calls can't influence the outcome. Funny that this board prays the Husker Prayer before each game, but forgets this part when it's over: "If we should lose, we'll stand by the road, And cheer as the winners go by. "
  18. I might be in the minority here, but I think the most important thing is that it was called correctly. There was a second left when the ball hit the ground. How would we feel if the roles were reversed?
  19. Can you imagine what would happen if he was wearing a suit with a tight tie around his neck and he went into a BO-RAGE? Suit would be destroyed. Probably better to have him in loose-fitting clothes.
  20. Weis should be wearing this instead:
  21. Oh hell, its a while until game day, so lets have a little fun. What I don't get about all that gear is why the "N" in Nebraska is undercase.
  22. Oh God Idiocracy is becoming reality.... Yeah OK I completely cracked up too
  23. With how good Legate looked vs OU, I don't think using Suh as a FB is necessary. Wouldn't we feel stupid if we put him in on an offensive play and he got injured? That said, if they handed the ball off to him, I don't think a brick wall could stop him...
  24. Suh is a smart player out there. On that attempted screen in the end zone, Suh had a clear path to Jones. Instead of bullrushing the QB he realized what was up, backpedaled, and slapped down the pass. He has incredible awareness.
  25. We should definitely play them. DEFINITELY. Why not? Because adding BSU makes our schedule too difficult and we won't go undefeated? If we lose to BSU in game 1, we don't deserve to go to the NC game anyway. Wait, we shouldn't because it's lose-lose (We win, it's no big deal, but we lose and we're humiliated)? Ummm same thing goes for our Sun Belt tour this year, except we had to pay a lot to each of those schools. Plus, Boise has been ranked far ahead of us for many years now. I'd rather play a bunch of average-to-decent non-conference games (and lose one or two) than win out on the Sun Belt and become overconfident...then get exposed later on in the season. We should be playing good opponents, especially when they give us a free home game and we don't have to go play on the blue turf. We shouldn't be afraid of a non conference challenge (like some teams *cough*Texas*cough).
