  1. Huskers.com if you have access to a computer while at work. You could at least check up every once and a while. Whenever I have to work, my wife sends me text updates like clockwork. What a woman.
  2. The only one with a National Championship in football, Cacti.
  3. My sister did the family a favor and planned her wedding for next October 1st (the off week). Now with the Big 10 schedule coming later this fall, I have a strange feeling it will be a big home game and I'll be missing it.
  4. I have directv and am obviously partial, but I have always had excellent customer service. I would try to get the HD for free so it might offset the difference with the contract. I do know that they charge like $400 to break the contract early. I guess it depends if she is planning on keeping the service for at least 2 years or not. I hate how they rope you into this crap like cell phone companies do.
  5. Now that I'm back to a normal routine, I would like to let you know of our newest husker. My wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on July 29th. We named here Caroline Hope after her grandmother and great-grandmother. She came out with long legs so I'm thinking volleyball, basketball or maybe a runner. Daddy might be a little bit of a pushover since she already has me wrapped around her little fingers.
  6. But what if they broadcast it like the BCS games? At the very least it will be in HD.
  7. I got it on Directv. Great way to spend my afternoon.
  8. Nice to see another Husker fan from SC. If you have digital cable, I would think you can get the PPV without much trouble. I would call them closer to the week of the game to find out. You might be able to order it by phone and they should have a special channel for you to turn to that normally doesn't come up (if you don't have digital). I used to get them when I had digital cable in Oklahoma.
  9. Congrats. Now you can celebrate with a huge birthday party every year!!! I can't wait myself. I'm adding a new husker in early August.
  10. Link I know we all knew this, but man I would've loved to cheer both of them on in the SEC.
  11. When I was in Vegas last month I recall seeing our odds to win the BCS was like 5:1 or something like that. I was a little suprised.
  12. Baseball is my #2 Husker sport behind football. I'm not sure how the B10 move will affect it. One one hand I can see us continue to recruit well (as long as we can actually get some to go to college) and do very well in the conference. On the other hand I can see us lose a lot of prospects because we don't play any warm weather games (except non-conference). I was suprised to see minnesota in the supers this year so at least it appears there is some good competition out there.
  13. Must've ran out of lube. or roofies or floories or... rapies man, you are the world's worst drug dealer ever! HAHA........Classic!
  14. Gotta go with OU. I have a bunch of friends who are fans and I've been there twice and would recommend that away-game experience to anyone. To me, they have been the south division version of NU. I've never had a problem with their fans and enjoy it when they come to Lincoln.
  15. I think the current contract runs til 2013, but I prefer adidas for the same reasons everyone else does - they make good quality stuff that looks good. I'd have to say that one of my favorites is the baseball uniforms (besides football of course).
  16. I think that Boise understands that the Big 12 will soon dissolve and the MWC can then make a push to replace it with an automatic BCS bid. I think they are trying to play it smart without over-doing it.
  17. I would think it depends on if the conference dissolves. If CU and NU leave and wish to give their notice, I would say 1-2 yrs, but my thought would be that if the votes are available to dissolve the conference with this Pac 10 thing, it would be as soon as possible.
  18. 1. As things stand now, do you prefer Big 12 or Big 10? Big 10 2. If you switch, what will you miss most about the Big 12? OU 3. If you switch, would you prefer the Big 10 go to 12, 14, or 16 teams? 12 4. If 14, who would you want to bring with you? Mizzou, ND 5. If 16, who would you want to bring with you? Mizzou, ND, Pitt, Rutgers 6. Which Big 10 school would you most look forward to playing in football? Iowa 7. Which Big 10 school would you most look forward to playing in basketball? Doesn't matter 8. What, if any, matchups in non-revenue sports would interest you? Volleyball/Wrestling 9. Nebraska's first Big Ten title would be in which sport? Women's bowling 10. Where should a Big 10 championship football game be held? Indianapolis 11. (Because we can't count) What is something Big Ten fans should know about Nebraska that most probably don't? We have the coolest team entrance in sports...period.
  19. Osborne has long been worried by Texas' dominance of the league. Nebraska and Texas clashed in the league's formative stage about athletic eligibility. Texas won that battle for more stringent academic standards. The conference office went to the Dallas metropolitan area. Wait a minute...I thought that it was Texas that didn't want the more stringent Big 8 academic standards that were in place. Am I wrong??
  20. I understand your concern, but I would enjoy the better competition. You can probably bet that the games will be a lot closer than they tend to be in the Big 12 North, however, I also like beating the tar out of people so I guess it's a tough trade-off.
  21. Since we have no 'official' offer from the Big 10, I say we call a press conference and state we are in the Big 12 and our loyalty is here. I would further publicly ask the commish why there is no current deadline for the south teams who apparently are thinking about defecting. I agree that the focus is in the wrong place, Mizzou and NU are not to blame. I can't understand why Beebe is going about this with his deadlines and wanting all the schools to show their loyalty when it's obvious some schools are questioning the methods of money distribution. His only response is that the board won't change the rules and they all now are the ones guilty of imploding the conference. Beebe has gone about this all wrong from day 1 and I can't help but think he wants this conference to fail because he is doing such a good job at causing a lot of ruckus. If the conference stays, I say we stay and let the Big 10 go through their process and if they ask us later on.....We get the hell outta dodge.
