  1. That class caused panic becuase of the low numbers if I recall. We only signed 17 I think? People were all freaked out by that since the big dogs were signing 25-30. But apparently addition and subtraction are too much to ask for when we had a senior class of 29 guys from Bo's first 2 classes. I find the recruiting panic year after year comical. Even Sean Callahan-who analyzes this stuff for a living mind you-got a chuckle out this growing panic on Big Red Wrap up on night. I think his exact words were "We go through this every year". Sean has been doing it a long time and has probably heard it all. I know people that know Sean from back when he was working for Mike Minter's recruiting service before that type of deal became illegal. We had a ton of targets pop up late last year and the year before and we signed very solid classes. Nobody at this point last year knew about Suttles (I know he isn't here anymore) and Chongo. The year before, nobody had heard of Imani Cross before early January. The year before nobody had heard of a guy by the name of Ameer Abdullah before mid-January.
  2. With as much professional respect as the name Bo Pelini has in terms of defense, if a change were made he would have absolutely no problem finding a gig as a DC. It is just incorrect to think otherwise.
  3. I remember the thoughts about the 2012 class as well. We had people up in arms about it. Turns out that we signed a top to bottom very good class that year.
  4. Again, get use to the fact that Bo isn't going anywhere unless it's on his own accord. Sorry to break your heart. It's really easy to be a poster that spews uneducated bull sh#t. We'd respect your opinion if you actually backed it up with anything of substance. Move on Troll.
  5. How about the fact that the kids from the 2010-2013 classes are the ones playing and are responsible for the improvement we have seen thus far. I can break down kid by kid, but I'd like you to do it first. You seem to know much more than I.
  6. My previous statement stands. 3-1 would absolutely "save" his job. You are kidding yourself if you think otherwise.
  7. You are a lot like Hellen Keller swinging a baseball bat now. What was wrong with the 2010-13 classes????
  8. Aside from a complete collapse to the tune of four straight blow outs, you are going to have to get use to the idea Bo will be our head coach next year.
  9. I think you swung and missed three times with this post.
  10. A lot of people owe Richie Incognito an apology.

EZ-E you're attending to the topography of the behavior rather than the function. A laugh can do many things, it can communicate amusement, it can alleviate uncomfortable stuff, it can show that you've toughened up for your team. Him laughing means nothing other than he laughed. I'm assuming that it wasn't a haha that's funny laugh.

That's true, zoo, and I certainly wouldn't say any of this is Martin's fault. I think his reaction is real and he has a lot to deal with. At this point it also looks like his reaction has been highly unusual. And the media has run with a very personally vilifying angle on Richie, who still doesn't seem like that pleasant a guy, but...

I completely agree with you Zoogies. Richie has been completely vilified and I think it's unjust. However, behavior is functional (this is what I study for a living) so given the context, I understand Martin's odd reaction or at least think I do. I think there's too much blame to go around to pin it on any one individual and it's without a doubt something that goes beyond those two guys.

  11. Interesting you say that as he only really played significant snaps in the fourth quarter. When he is rested, he is serviceable. Not a world beater, but adequate. He was also paired with VV, who commands attention. We also had him playing in the 1 or the 0 tech quite a bit. Not true. He played 10 of the 16 possessions (including the first two when we were gashed) vs NW and nearly the entire game against Minny. He got pushed around pretty badly at times and was a non-factor when he wasn't getting pushed around. I apologize, he played when we played sh**ty in the first quarter. Then when he was subbed in favor of VV the level of play went up significantly.
  12. When you play a lot of freshman one thing that is consistent is that they are inconsistent. We've got TALENT in that freshman class. There are some real young difference makers on our roster right now. Where I am at is that Bo is the centerpiece. Every time he gets after one of our guys on defense, the very next play he makes a play. Where I am at currently is that I think it would be a damn shame for Bo not to be given an opportunity when these freshman are sophomores and juniors. The talent and the foundation are in place, now it's time to move the furniture in the house so to speak.

  14. People had some very high hopes for Carnes. I'd always been in the Colter camp. Played his junior year of HS at QB with a torn labrum. Warrior.
  15. Play VV and we get better. That way the whole DL doesn't need to worry about stuffing the middle. He is the most important player on our defense. We have 6ft3 330lbs of run-stuffing awesomeness that we didn't utilize against Minnesota.
  16. I think you're onto something there. TA looks good in that formation and it gives AA a chance to run downhill. The problem is the entire offense has been built on something else and I don't know if they could switch at this point and run the rest of the playbook. But that is half the point. You run a couple zone read and option plays a get a couple first downs with a quick tempo offense in hurry up. Then sub in Cross and hit them up the middle after the team is winded. It is similar to what Oklahoma does with their quick tempo scheme a couple years back. Attack the boundaries until they have to play honest with their safeties and LBers and then you have them spread out so you can slam it up the middle with your big back.
  17. To this point in both of their careers, TA has more experience practicing at QB in our system, and continuity on the offensive staff. TM played better at QB his freshman year this far than TA currently is. I've said all along that I think TA has a higher ceiling than TM, but I don't like the idea that we have a freshman taking snaps in the Big House this week.
  18. Reported. That's not a HIPPO violation! Will always get a +1 from me
  19. Wake up to two missed calls from your mom at 9am. You call her back and she got you two tickets to the MSU game 30 rows up in the South EndZone just because she thought you'd like them. Day = Made.

  20. DC at tOSU? Think about it this way. Bo would have to work under a guy that stands for nothing similar to what Bo does. Plain and simple they are almost total opposites. In the event that we somehow go 0-4, no way Bo takes a job under Urban. In the event the worst happens, I could see him taking the DC spot in Denver if Del Rio moves on which I think he will. It is purely ridiculous that anyone would even imply that Bo couldn't and wouldn't find a job in CFB or the NFL. Absolutely ridiculous.
  21. It says, "I'm classy, but I'm here to party". And of course I like to party so I like my linebackers to party.
