  1. I'm all over the marathon too at Twin Creek in Bellevue. Heard nothing but good things about this (though I haven't really been looking) want to be as surprised about the movie as possible.
  2. Also another thing to look at is did you have access to the poles just prior to the bowl games, or are these the year ending poles?
  3. After the Wisconsin game and until Michigan I don't think we had a problem with ball security. Seems like in the biggest moments is when we have problems with security.
  4. At one point today when I refreshed it showed Nebraska in 1st. But the next time it came up A&M was back ahead.
  5. While Green is not as good as Dennard (right now), we have multiple CBs who have played more than just a few plays, plus Seisay started at Memphis as a freshman. I'd say we're in a much better situation this year at CB then we were last year.
  6. Except when was it that Martinez got his butt chewed last year? After the Wisconsin game he played really steady. Not great, but steady and his mistakes were few and far between. The defense needs to step it up, and I think they have the pieces in the secondary to be the best in the Big Ten (like how Green and Stafford were playing at the end of last year, the things we've heard about Seisay, and whoever we have at the second Safety position). A lot of people need to step it up, but to me it feels like the offseason chatter we've been hearing sounds different than in years previous. One more thing, the Roundtable focused entirely too much on Martinez.
  7. Marrow behind Martinez, Burkhead and Ameer on the sides. Boom there you go.
  8. Those games snowballed on us. 1 bad thing happened at an inopportune time and that 1 bad thing became 2 and then 3 and so on. We were only down to Michigan by 7 at halftime and we were getting the ball first in the second half. Bell fumbles the ball on the kickoff and suddenly that 7 point lead is a 14 point lead. We're still in the game and we get a roughing the kicker penalty. The 3 interceptions at Wisconsin, the Hail Mary against South Carolina. Those teams beat us, but we didn't help ourselves.
  9. The thing about the 2009 defense was that it was built to stop Big XII defenses. While it did OK against run first power I offenses I think the best Nebraska offenses would have just pounded the ball down their throats and won that way (which truthfully was how they won anyway).
  10. So what's the situation if the Spring Game is cancelled? Stupid weather.
  11. Biggest thing that will help us in regards to Marrow is the abuse he'll take instead of Burkhead on those short yardage situations. If he can get 1st downs all the time on 3rd and 4th and shorts he'll be more than enough.
  12. Because Green improved by leaps if not bounds last year to become at least a solid CB, while Evans was still a little sketchy sometimes.
  13. Looking at the D, the only level of the D that should take a step back is the LBs and that's because David's presence looms so large. CBs got a lot of experience, the line is another year older with some talented freshmen coming off of Redshirts (Williams was a beast in HS something like 170 tackles made from the DT spot, and he did have a pretty good Spring Game too; and then Peat). I like what Kaz can do with the D-line just as long as Pelini decides to let them loose like he did back on '03.
  14. Prince is getting jiggy with it. Congrats
  15. I'm all for having an alternate every year for 1 game. Nothing too radical, just an all red or black top or a different helmet style (definitely not that Corn one). One thing that I would definitely love to see is if we went through all of our historic jerseys, or jerseys based on historic ones. Absolutely loved the jerseys we rolled out for the 300th sellout. What's so bad about doing that?
  16. O'Hanlon messed up on one play, but was solid the rest of the year. Probably the best open field tackler in the back 7. Cassidy was good last year, but seemed like he took a step back this year. Maybe it was the fact that he was playing around 4 draft picks that hid some of his faults, but he just didn't seem as sharp this year. Saying that I wish him the best in his future endevours.
  17. Look at Peat last year, he didn't decide on Nebraska until NSD and the thing that tipped him over to us was the fact that he saw a Nebraska license plate on the way to make his decision. Not that he didn't like a lot about Nebraska anyways, but the thing that told him it was the right decision was seeing that. Who knows, maybe Shelton has/had that same ah ha moment.
  18. Center is the most important position along the line. If Long is great at it get the best player on the field. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if Choi could play either guard spots.
  19. Martin seems to move from End in passing situations to LB in running situations, especially goal line.
  20. The way the refs called it is that he didn't fumble therefore the play should've been dead where he was tackled/fumbled. Since the play was dead there shouldn't have been any other advance in the football. Something that doesn't make sense.
  21. Fumble by Clemson with 1 minute left in the half was called wrong by the replay officials. The call on the field was that he was down by contact, it's not reviewable. Now if they had called it a fumble it would've been fine, huge mistake by the refs and the replay officials.
  22. The point of this is that Turner was contributing to the team during the first 5-6 weeks of the year and it looked like he would be able to play at that high level throughout the year, that's why his redshirt was burned. He was a playmaker and the coaches wanted him on the field. Halfway through the season he takes a hit in his confidence and that brings everything down. If we would have played him, he would not have contributed to the team. Pretty much straight from his mouth in Nywata's(?) article. He does have all the athletic ability in the world but he wasn't playing up to his ability. He wasn't playing not because he was in a coach's doghouse, but because Marlowe beat him out.
  23. You can't redshirt after you play 1 play. Medical Redshirts you can only play up to like 25% of your games and have a valid injury.
  24. Wisconsin at 19 makes sense, because how much of their success was because of the ability of Wilson? Ohio State makes absolutely no sense though. Sure they have Meyer, but they'll still have pretty much the same players, though they will be more seasoned.
