  1. I think Rose has made it very clear that he is a CB only during his transfer process, so don't expect him to be at safety.
  2. That's terrible news. Prayers go out to him and his family.
  3. Lane must have seen that highlight of Johnny plowing him over and pulled the plug on it. I feel SOOOO bad for USC though. They just can't catch a break. (I don't think I should have to put the sarcasm thing here)
  4. Why even make a comment you cann't be a husker fan . Welcome a board Gregory you're right how dare i hope he ends up being a great player But you don't need to take a pot shot at one of our current players to "hope" that. Carter has contributed. Maybe not as much on the field as we and he all imagined when he signed with us, but as far as the general public can see, he's gone to school, stayed out of trouble, and represented himself and the university well. That's all we ask of our athletes, and he's been exemplary in that regard. With our upcoming schedule full of statue QBs, Joseph has plenty of upcoming opportunity to make an impact in the pass rush, which I expect him to do. Back on topic, I'm very happy we got Randy. Just as for every other player who signs, I am glad to have him and look forward to seeing what he can do. didn't mean it as an insult/pot shot just saying that i hope that since he's a juco guy he can come in and have an immediate impact since his time is more limited, carter has made some plays the last 2 years i remember him coming in during the Michigan state game last year during 3rd and long situations when they had all the d linemen stand up and getting some good pressure on the qb I think that has a lot to do with it. We brought in Carter expecting a pass rushing nightmare, then tried to have him stand up the OL hand to hand and that's not his forte (or a lot of our current DL). Against Michigan when they let them go after the QB, our DL all of a sudden looked a lot better.

Carter has actually played pretty damn well the last 2 games, and especially last game against Meatchicken. Does he have alot of TFLs and sacks? No, but that doesn't mean he isn't playing well and doing his job. Watch the Meatchicken game and tell me he isn't playing well. I don't disagree with that statement at all. The only thing is, I remember when he committed I think we were all under the impression that he'd immediately contribute/start. He is coming on strong as of late, it's too bad he couldn't have been a 3 for 3 kid because I think with another full season, he'd really start to blow up and continue the growth that he finishes with this season.

  7. The Banderas quote is from the Wisconsin game, so it's an old quote FWIW.
  8. I heard from another board that we wanted him to move inside to DT, and he absolutely does not want that, hence his looking elsewhere now.
  9. Baker was/is built like the prototypical NFL OT and started as a 5*, all he had to do was maintain that status. To jump up takes something special your senior year. Josh has played very well this year, but I don't foresee him moving up. The "raters" have had chances to see him at camps with other top kids, so I think they are pretty set with their ratings and that they think they have him rated fairly. It would have taken record breaking numbers during the season for them to even think about moving him up, and being in Nebraska where our competition is perceived to be lesser, that may not have been enough either. That being said, only 22 kids in America are 5* at Rivals (And only 3 LBs). That's like one 22 man team from 16,047 (according to MaxPreps). Being rated #196 puts him in the top 1.2% of all players in the nation. I am VERY glad that he's coming to Nebraska. He's got the potential to be a great one here. Ratings mean nothing once you step on campus. Look at Harrison Beck and Ndamukong Suh for example. Both 4 stars, and look at what happened to each one. That's why I'm excited about Josh. He's got the ceiling, and appears to be ready to work to reach it. And my math was horrible on the percentile he's in. The number above is the number if you compare him to the top LB on each team in HS. Assuming there are an average of 10 SRs on each HS team, that's 160470 players, of which he's #196. That's the top 0.12% of all HS SRs.

  11. At 6'8"? Aren't NTs preferable closer to 6'0" for leverage purposes? (I'm not trying to be condescending, honest question)
  12. Mitchell did come back in. He hit Ball (I think) again with the same shoulder and was noticeably in pain when he did it, and left the field again. I thought I saw him back again at the end of the game too though. My brother and I's expert opinions decided it was a stinger.
  13. Chris Williams did blow his knee up as a SR in HS. He tripped on the yardage chain and landed on some form of curb or something IIRC. Granted, his love for "natural medicine" and laziness are what actually did him in as he was recovering, one has to wonder if it would have all gone south for him had he not been hurt.
  14. Saw this guy play on ESPN when his team was on. He was a grown man playing against children in that game and dominated the OL. Would love to have a guy like him at DE.
  15. You'd think that'd be something the UA people could schedule around if he asked them too, like come on the Thursday/Friday of this week.
  16. Casual Saturday attire I see. He must feel at home.
  17. Toby is a JUCO though, I thought I read somewhere that they wanted one of each this year, or maybe I'm just mis-remembering. I would totally agree that between the two, Johnson is higher priority, but I was under the assumption that there was spot A for a HS DT, and spot B for a JUCO DT.
  18. Where is he on our board as far as DT goes? It looks to me like he's it for HS DT, and we'd love to take his commitment. I assume like every year, we do want a DT out of HS this year, and I'm guessing he's ahead of Leath and Woods on our board at this point.
  19. What's a No. 2 starting QB I thought they were called backups
  20. Bumped to 4* on Rivals. Better go after him harder now.
  21. We need a solid DB more than a solid WR at this point anyway IMO.
  22. Word is that a "big ugly" from the east is going to switch his current commitment to us. (I am totally repeating what I heard on another forum). Any idea who this might be? I'm looking through our list of prospects that are committed elsewhere, and can't think of one that it may be without it being a high 4* or 5* that would have created more of a stir than just all of a sudden "Hey, I'm switching to NU. Even NU fans couldn't see it coming"
  23. Is he our Alonzo Moore type to add to the QB we take this class? (Could, but probably won't play QB)
