  1. The absolute best part of that is that Cook went out and coached his team to a national title, and Diaco got overwhelmed by the Strain.
  2. His promotion of the "best coach on campus" still makes me laugh.
  3. I don't disagree, but now we have 2 reasons to get rid of them, ah, ah, ah.
  4. ....wouldn't have scored a damn point against any of the four presented
  5. Get rid of the blackshirts, too. And those camo jerseys that the baseball team wears. And sorry, liberos on the volleyball team; gotta find a new color.
  6. There's only one reason that someone could legitimately want Ty Lue coaching at Nebraska, and it isn't his coaching acumen.
  7. The Prop 48 rule sounds like a good comparison. Is he allowed any contact with the team while he's under academic redshirt?
  8. You have Miles Jones and Tyjon Lindsey who will be used out of the backfield as well.
  9. Well, Luke Fickell coaches there, so they might have some feelings about Cincinnati.
  10. TO wasn't needed; just get better gloves for the Texas game, and that's another Sear's Trophy.
  11. I was born in 1984, so that checks out. I'm also of the mind that the '99 defense is, at least, top 3 in school history.
  12. File this under "Things that make you go hmmm"
  13. If the Big Ten were to ever go two 8 team divisions, OU would probably be at the top of the board for expansion. A West Division with Wisconsin, Oklahoma and a capable Nebraska would rival what the East is doing with Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan.
  14. If that isn't an indictment on the Riley Era, I don't know what is.
  15. Kevin Dillman is still one of the weirdest recruiting stories I can remember at DONU.
  16. Keyan Williams granted a release from his scholarship.

Unless Vedral gets a release from UCF *and* wins NCAA approval, he's not going to count against our limit until next year, right? Or what am I missing here...?

I believe @VectorVictor is correct; he'll be a walk-on this year, and will count against the limit next year.

UCF won't release him to us. So therefore they can hold onto the scholarship for as long as they want (would be dumb because then they only get 84).... Unless I'm missing something.

  17. To be honest, I've thought about doing that poll, too. If there's enough of an interest, I can; I just don't want to flood the board with similar-type topics.
  18. Last week, we looked at the best wins (a misnomer if I ever saw one) of the Mike Riley era. Now, let's take a look at the games that could be considered the "worst losses". I've gone through each season's schedule and pulled 5 games that could be considered the worst losses (and no, you can't vote for "All of the Above"). We can debate for a week, put it to a vote and decide. If there is a game that isn't listed, vote for "other", and explain your choice. Game 1: 2015 BYU: http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400763495 - In all honesty, we probably should have known what we were in for after the very first game of the Riley era. Some awful coaching decisions coupled with lackluster effort by a lot of players wishing their old coach was still on the sidelines. Armstrong throws for 300, but we all know how this one ended. Game 2: 2015 Illinois: http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400763528 - Absolutely atrocious late-game decisions by OC Danny Langsdorf and Tommy Armstrong. Armstrong was particularly bad; 10-31 for 105 yards, but if he runs the ball on the infamous play, Nebraska still probably wins. Game 3: 2015 Purdue: http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400763555 - This would be the only conference game that Purdue would win in 2015. This was also Ryker Fyfe's bowl game: he threw for 400 yards and 4 TDs, but 4 INTs and the defense couldn't keep themselves off the field and Purdue out of the end zone. Game 4: 2017 Northern Illinois: http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400935354 - I think this was the game when we realized that Tanner Lee's interception issues weren't just because of the competition. At this point, you could almost call out when he was going to throw an INT, as the final score was Nebraska 14, NIU's defense 14, NIU's offense 7. Game 5: 2017 Iowa: http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400935417 - The story of one quarter: with the game tied at halftime, Iowa went off for 28 in the 3rd quarter, and it was over. Thankfully, the whole thing was over.
  19. Gonna try something new for the offseason: let's find out which win of the Mike Riley era (error?) is considered the best by the board. I've gone through each season's schedule and pulled 5 games that could be considered the best wins of Riley's tenure. We can debate for a week, put it to a vote and decide. If there is a game that isn't listed, vote for "other", and explain your choice. Note 1: I'm planning on doing a "Worst Loss" thread as well Note 2: The Riley era was so bad, I originally had two losses in the "Best Win" column. Game 1: 2015 Michigan State http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400763560 - This game was marked by a wonderful drive by Tommy Armstrong at the end of the game, driving the offense down and scoring with less than a minute left on a controversial TD pass to Brandon Reilly. Game 2: 2015 UCLA http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400852720 - This game was RtDB guy's wet dream. Armstrong, Ozigbo and Cross pounded the UCLA defense, with 46 carries between the three. Also marked by a controversial ejection of Nate Gerry on a pitch-perfect tackle in the second quarter. Game 3: 2016 Wyoming http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400869187 - Most points scored in the Riley era. Armstrong throws for almost 400 yards, and the defense picks future first rounder Josh Allen off 5 times. Game 4: 2016 Oregon http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400869113 - Riley finally gets a win over Oregon. Marked by another gusty performance by Armstrong, scoring the go-ahead TD from 34 yards out with roughly 2 minutes left. Game 5: 2017 Purdue http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400935395 - The final win of 2017 was punctuated by a comeback led by Tanner Lee with under one minute left.

  21. I had a couple of classes with him in college; he would've gotten Twitter taken away in an instant.
