  1. I think we need to see how the rest of the teams are divided before we can make any (ir)rational judgements. Or:
  2. I explored this a couple of months ago in a post, but Joe Ganz is pretty much the template for the modern QB that can best run the offense that Frost wants to run. Others that would have fit include Berringer, Gdwoski and Steve Taylor. Turner Gill would have been phenomenal in this offense. One player that would have been very, VERY intriguing to see would be Bobby Newcombe. Had he not gotten hurt, who knows what Eric Crouch's legacy at Nebraska is?
  3. Dickson doesn't actually work at the OWH anymore; he was part of the last round of layoffs. In terms of Mertes, I agree with @Xmas32: he is a douche, both in print and when he's on with Severe on 590. I gotta give that round to Dickson: "I'm trying to clarify because many Omahans are not familiar with your work" was a good jab, but the "Is that where they found you" comeback was good as well.
  4. R Kay needs to update that a bit more often; I haven't had my fix since October.
  5. I've been trying to convince my wife we need a bidet for a few years now.
  6. I love it when Frost throws shade:
  7. Mo Barry says that Gebbia is the hardest QB to defend; he also likes Greg Bell and Mike Williams on O. Which would be a Got Damn shame; the kid has a lot of talent to tap into.
  8. Yup. Called him out over the weekend.
  9. A-f***ing-men. I'm not disagreeing with you as vehemently as I might be coming off; I'm just having flashbacks to that ESPN special from a few years ago when they were trying to rank best teams of all time.
  10. I disagree, completely. To ignore ancillary facts surrounding the argument leads to a fallacy of the truth. It does a disservice not only to the players in question, but the integrity of the discussion itself.
  11. But it gets to the crux of the argument I'm trying to make: you can't judge one QB against another based on pure statistics. It does a disservice to the careers of both in question. For the record, I agree with you: Zac Taylor was a better QB, in all-encompassing terms, than Tommy Armstrong. I would still take Armstrong, though, simply because he's a better fit for the style of offense I prefer.
  12. You also have to understand that there are bridges between the program and high schools that need to be rebuilt, though, right? And that while those bridges were down, kids maybe didn't develop the connection to the University and the football program that kids in the past did?
  13. Entertain this question for a moment: was Zac Taylor a better QB than Tommie Frazier?
  14. Here's the thing: if Burrow transfers from OSU, he's transferring to be a starter. Would he be that here? Would Frost make that kind of a statement to him? I think the answer to both of those is a solid "No".
  15. I don't know any specifics, but didn't a poster last week allude to some burnt bridges between him and Miles?
  16. I would love it, but Frost loves him at TE in this offense.
  17. This show really has had a run of downright awful show runners. It's a same that AMC is so incredibly stingy; they should have kept Darabont around.
  18. I watched the All or Nothing on Michigan last weekend, and it seemed like if you even breathed on them, they had QBs getting hurt last year.
  19. Good post, @Warrior10. The only thing I would disagree with is that I think Frost and Walters will do what they can to protect Gebbia in the running game, to keep him upright as much as possible. He's bigger than Milton was last year, and Milton held up alright.
  20. 247 has him at 6-5, 180. I don't know a lot about what Chin prefers in terms of size for his DEs, but I would assume he would have to put quite a bit of weight to play there.
