  1. Well, take my scenario to a (very) possible endgame: schools are the lifeblood of small towns. If rural schools and school districts are forced to consolidate due to students going to charter schools, those small rural towns become smaller and smaller until they disappear.
  2. One possible scenario for rural Nebraska: DeVos diverts funds into a voucher program. A charter school sets up in McCook, NE, drawing students away from schools in Benkleman, Trenton, Arapahoe and Cambridge, as well as students in McCook. All of those schools lose funding due to a loss in students, either causing the need for property taxes to increase, or more schools to consolidate, erasing a large number of teaching jobs.
  3. If only there was a way you could have tried to prevent this... Thanks for answering my question and continuing your quest on HB making it unbearable. Specifically the P&R forum. Please. The instant you call out bnilhome and/or 84HuskerLaw you'll have some credibility. Where was this complaint when Obama was being called a Kenyan, or Muslim, or any of the other 1,001 complaints we saw about him just during the last election alone? If you didn't complain about "making HB unbearable" then you have zero right to complain now. Knapp, why would I have to contribute to an echo chamber? You guys all blasted them enough. Why pour it on? Not that I would have anyway, but you see the point. Thing is, no one on here blasts you for your incessant complaining and bickering about politics and religion. Why? Because this is a left wing board. There's no doubt about that. Carry on though. The internet is listening intently.... How would demanding factual truth in the face of partisan lies be "contributing to an echo chamber?" You're "blasting" me now. Are you being unfair? Or do you have a differing opinion that you're standing up for? Why do you get to "blast" me but you can't be put on "blast?" Never said you couldn't blast me but go ahead with the usual left wing victimhood culture. Spin, spin, spin.... Oh for ****'s sake.
  4. Your first point contradicts your second point. The desire for a government with that much power is a government that I don't want. I doubt you do either. Punishing someone for their thoughts is absolutely wrong, but there are mitigating circumstances in which people should not be allowed to purchase firearms, i.e., people convicted of violent felonies, etc.
  5. Your first point contradicts your second point.
  6. Where does Sasse stand on her? Voting for her. I'm supremely disappointed in our elected officials. Classic government: choosing money over constituents.
  7. toughen up snowflakeI'm not the one who's being snowflaking for the past month about Trump sir......the guy I voted for won the election. Life is great Just curious, does it bother you how much Trump complains? He is literally the most thin-skinned person that I know of. I absolutely love the irony of people using the term "Snowflake" to defend someone who, by their very definition, would be the most bigly snowflake out there.
  8. It's unconstitutional to use religion as a factor in whether or not to allow someone into the country. And the EO bars entry from 7 countries identified as potential terror threats to the US. The EO examines country of origin as a factor in whether or not to allow someone into the country. The EO examines country of origin as a factor in whether or not to allow someone into the country. How many terrorist attacks on the US have originated from those 7 countries?
  9. I love it when football fans venture into watching basketball, thinking they know everything.
  10. So....Brady's the true GOAT now, right?

Montana didn't need to film the other team's walk-through to win the SB. '01 Rams win that SB if the Pats don't cheat. Seattle runs Lynch, and they beat the Pats two years ago. Brady is one of the best, but if i had to pick one QB to lead my team on a last-minute drive, I pick Montana every time. He never threw a pick in the SB, while Brady has thrown 5. Montana never lost a SB, and if the 49ers didn't give him up to play Young, he could have likely been 5-0. 49ers had two...

convincing SB wins with Montana, while NE hasn't had any. While Brady is damn good, his coach is the best we've ever seen in the NFL and a large part of part of Brady's success can be attributed to the teams BB built. I'm convinced Belichick could get just as many SBs with Brees or Rodgers.

  11. You don't chase points until you absolutely need to. Down 15 in the first half is a lot different than in the second. I'd hold off on 2 pointers until the 4th.
  12. Right now is an imperative time to start caring. I do, but it's awfully disheartening when a Senator ignores thousands of calls and emails from constituents to toe the party line. This education thing has hit me pretty hard.
  13. I'm done caring. They're gonna give mentally unstable individuals guns, Deb Fischer just voted to gut public education, and Conway and Spicer are going to gaslight enough people into starting a war with Australia.
  14. So, he threatens Australia, Mexico and Iran in the same day, and tells Droopy Dog McConnell to go ahead and cheat to get his nominees AND his SCOTUS pick appointed. Some of us knew this going in.
  15. Word is that Deb Fischer is on the fence. I'm planning on giving her a call or two.
  16. The stars at night might be big and bright, but two of those guys got knocked around a lot last year, one was injured for most of the season, and two haven't played yet. My expectations remained tempered.
  17. I've had my doubts, but this is the first piece of info that gets me relatively excited about Lee at QB next year.
  18. I never thought of him as one of the best, but to each their own... really??!! I have watched most of the greats, and all of them since 1967, and I am not alone when I say he is in the conversation for the top 3 RB's of all time at DONU Wait for it....
  19. Calvin to Wazzu. I'm thinking the rumors about the staff being done with his act are true.

  20. Anyone know what time he and Johnson are officially announcing? No hope from this end, but I am interested in knowing
