  1. Franklin couldn't wait to get rid of the Hack, and play a QB who wasn't a statue. Just like MR and DL couldn't wait to get a QB that can see the field. Time will tell how that worked out for both. I love Armstrong, but the amount of open receivers he missed in his career would be staggering. If Lee/O'Brien can just do better in that one area, our passing offense will increase immensely.
  2. We should not lose a single game with that schedule.
  3. I'd give Farniok every opportunity to start....at LT.
  4. That's because people grasp at straws when things go wrong. A lot of what happened on Friday was on the players, both in effort and technique.
  5. OP probably shouldn't have eaten paint chips as a kid.
  6. Done. I have chores I can do.

  8. Kid is either gonna be a DB or a slot WR at the next level, but he looked really good last night.
  9. Harrison Beck couldn't either. I had Space Rocks for Rocks class with him back in the day.
  10. If there is a proto-type for what a native Iowan looks like, it's CJ Beat-hard.
  11. Which screams at me...."PARENTS". This kid may very well be smart enough to get decent to good grades in HS and get well above a qualifying ACT. However, if everything discussed here is correct, I would put the first and foremost blame on the parents. If the grade school teacher let him "slip by" without learning anything to prepare him...the parents should have been better involved in making sure he IS learning something and preparing him. Work ethic??? Where do you think that is taught? Hint....it's not from the teachers. As a teacher, all I can say is:
  12. All the talk has been that if he gets his grades up, and gets a qualifying ACT score, he'll get a scholly. I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at a Juco if Nebraska wants to stash him for a couple years. PS, those ideas always sound great, but can anyone name the last time it actually worked out that way? (Meaning, we stashed him at a JUCO and then they eventually ended up at Nebraska) Who was the kid that Pelini put at Iowa Western with the intent of bringing him back? It happened during the transition, and Riley passed on him. In a business sense, it at least lets the program get a look at a kid against competition that is a higher level than Class A football in Nebraska. Dude, I agree with you. It's a great idea. I'm just saying it never seems to pan out. (It was a RB that was recently placed there, name escapes me though) Oh yea, I'm sorry if the tone conveyed was combative; I'm in agreement with you. I was more "thinking out loud" than anything.
  13. This is (generally) all in good fun, and I can have witty banter with people from other fanbases, but that Husker Haters guy is a dick.

  16. Exactly. The massive false equivalency by Trump voters in this case is appalling. There weren't demonstrations in the street because Obama isn't even remotely close to the shitbag-type of human being that Donald Trump is.
  17. Reading between the lines (second-to-thirdhand here), but I think what he's saying is that his elementary school teachers let him skate by without holding him accountable. That type of behavior snowballs until it smacks the student in the face later on in life (be it in HS or even college). If he didn't have any sort of work ethic, that would lend itself to him struggling in his first two years of HS, no matter how smart he is.
  18. I hope Bradley gets his stuff together; he'd look real good in red next year.
  19. Is the Bradley kid from Bell West a Senior? If so, is he on the radar in Lincoln?

  20. I honestly think that was as much to try and make Nebraska feel more at home in the Big Ten. We have some truly great rivalries in the conference, but they didn't want Nebraska to feel left out so they just started pushing sh#t instead of letting it develop. Well, that definitely made us feel at home since we already had that happen with Colorado. ...and K-State.

  22. I know people occasionally accuse me of being an Iowa homer on this board, which I most assuredly am not, but the only reason I get those accusations is because people aren't fair or rational in their assessments of Iowa's programs. Since 2001... Number of 11+ win seasons: Iowa - 3 Nebraska - 0 Number of top 10 finishes: Iowa - 4 Nebraska - 0 Number of conference championships (yes, we are all aware that these were obtained differently than the Big XII): Iowa - 2 Nebraska - 0 Number of major bowl appearances: Iowa - 3 Nebraska - 0 Their program operates quite differently than ours in the sense of having common 4-7 win seasons, but also has seasons sprinkled in that are better than anything we've accomplished in 15 years. No one asked for any semblance of logic in this thread, Deborah.
  23. Question: is it duck season in Nebraska? In certain zones, yes. Must not be in Lincoln, or else quite a few of Fyfe's passes would've gotten shot down. The hunting dog convention on the field would have been entertaining, though.
