  1. There are kids that act like kids, and kids that act like prima donnas. This is the latter.
  2. I'm not seeing it. Plays against questionable competition and has average arm strength. If we have the luxury of choosing between the two 2018 kids offered yesterday, I'll take Mayden.
  3. I don't know either. That's why I asked. You compared one season of a college football player to the entire career/life of one of the greatest race horses in history. The comparative disconnect there is massive.
  4. This would actually make the strongest case for a CCG loser, beating the team they lost to in the regular season. That would cause a huge dilemma for the committee because you could have 3 1-loss teams in the same conference that all have strong resumes. Expansion of the playoff would solve this conundrum most likely depending on how it's set up. If you do 8 teams with 5 auto qualifiers, you are really setting up a 17 team playoff because CCGs would then truly become an extension playoff game since the winner is guaranteed a spot. So still with an 8 team playoff I think you have a better shot losing in the regular season and not playing a CCG than if you were to go undefeated and lose in the CCG. Why 5 auto qualifiers? What's the purpose? The playoffs shouldn't be a reward for winning your conference. Use a BCS type format to rank the teams. The top 8 get in regardless of what conference they belong to. I would rather go with this scenario and get rid of the conference championship games. It will never happen, but this is what I've always thought would be best. Disagree. If you aren't good enough to win your conference in CFB, you shouldn't have an opportunity to win the National Title.
  5. You forgot to include the part where you say WHY it is a terrible comparison. It should look like this: "That's a terrible comparision BECAUSE (fill in this blank)" Gdowski's yards per carry during his sophomore and junior years was 8.2 yards per carry, if that gives you any more reference. When something is that far off of the reservation, an explanation isn't necessary; the point can stand on its own.
  6. Yes, Gdowski was an excellent passer. Head and shoulders above Steve Taylor with a 177.3 passing efficiency. However, passing and running are not mutually exclusive. So, Turner Gill shouldn't be anywhere near anyone's list, then?
  7. That's like saying we don't know if Secretariat was a good race horse because he ran only 21 races. Most who watched Gdowski run and pass would say it was a mistake to have had Taylor starting in front of him. As I said before, the KFAB announcers even said it on the air during his Senior year. That's a terrible comparison.
  8. Cubs fans are going to be more insufferable than Red Sox fans if they actually win the whole thing.

They won't be any worse than Royals "fans" were last year.

Allowed? No way, the cubs sucked 80 years before any of them were born. They knew the deal going in, yet they still act like it's not fair.

sucked? that's not true at all.. its not like they aren't going to the playoffs.

  9. He falls in the same camp as Gdowski for me: not enough of a sample size.
  10. Will you look up the Powerball numbers for me, o' traveler of time?
  11. He only ran the ball 112 times, though. Far too small of a sample size to make his YPC statistically significant in this discussion.
  12. It's quite possible that no one on those sites actually knows what they are doing.
  13. A 4 star from Idaho? Does transitive property mean he's like a 2 star in California?
  14. Wow.... Did we watch the same thing? I heard "America is great because America is good" at least 3 times. That's a lack of words because he beat the crap out of her relentlessly. She was noticeably flustered a majority of the debate because Trump was extremely well prepared, authentic, and assertive without being over the top. It's past midnight, so it's Monday....but was Sunday "Opposite Day" at your house?
  15. And don't let your boyfriends urinate on your kids. Or put cigarettes out on them. It's such a fine line. I think you misunderstood the phrase "hold your tots". He could have said "hold our horses" or "calm our b@lls". I don't believe he meant toddlers. So Tots doesn't infer children or toddlers? If you know anything about how LP grew up you know that these things actually happened to him. Yes, I realize that those things happened to him. It's horrible. I think (feel free to chime in, Matty) he meant tots like tater-tots, i.e. testicles.......... I could be wrong, I guess. Kind of a strange expression. (feel free to chime in, Matty)......... Being RILED UP as much as Matty is, he probably uses a lot of potato references
  16. Texas is still worse for me. So damn close.
  17. I don't disagree: the problems under Solich were systemic, However, if Crawford lives up to the hype, 7-7 in 2002 doesn't happen. Nor do our meltdowns against KSU, Missouri or Texas in 2003. He would have bought Frank more time.
  18. The first question is: would he have sat behind Crouch for two years? Had he stuck around, then I honestly don't think Solich gets fired in 2003.
  19. Catholics vs. Convicts should be good, but that was already covered in the Miami doc.
  20. In terms of running ability of our pure options QBs: 1. Crouch - The gold standard. 2. Martinez - His injuries really derailed his career. 3. Frazier - Not as fast as the top 2, but more instinctual. 4. Frost - Was a maestro at running the option, especially timing his pitches. A bulldozer. 5. Lord - Very underrated. Broke most of Crouch's records.
  21. 30 for 30s announced, and no Nebraska. I wonder if they benched it.

Matty: it was supposed to be around the 94-95 season, with lots of talk on LP/Washington/C. Peter. They did interviews last spring with a bunch of people connected to the program, and rumor was that it would be released this fall.
