  1. The amount of people that get put on these preseason watch lists is embarrassing. I'm pretty sure at least half the members of this board are on at least one.
  2. In an ideal world, POB comes along this season to the point where he is the solid #2, and getting reps in blowouts. This would give us flexibility to redshirt Gebbia, and put 2 years inbetween them. In terms of this season, Tommy is the man. He'll only come off the field if we're winning big, or by injury (knock on wood).
  3. Now that's just silly, and I don't really like the books. The show wouldn't exist without the books. The best thing to happen to the show was that the books were written and it was made. You could argue it's the best thing that's happened to the show since "blank." Anyhow, I'm halfway through season 3 so I don't know but I'm guessing the show got boring with the same material that the books got boring. Although I didn't make it past book 1 in 10 years of trying until I finally had the whole series read to me. My favoritest book series is being turned into a tv series. I hope it's half as good as the GoT TV series. That's not what I meant at all. Because the show is now out of material from the books, they are allowed to actually pivot towards the ending. They aren't dragged down by the various loose threads that GRRM has introduced in the last two books. It's made the show more tightly constructed and, overall, better.
  4. Gotta think this is his best (and probably only) shot at making KC.
  5. The best thing that happened to the show was running out of material from the books. Best episode of the entire series; maybe the best episode of television since Ozymandias in Breaking Bad.
  6. All that does is show how much you follow Nebrasketball.
  7. Worst case? Another 5-7 season, Riley gets fired, our recruiting class falls apart, POB transfers and Barney Cotton is hired as HC.
  8. And there it is: the only correct answer.
  9. Neither are the ideal size for a 3-4 NT. Valentine would have worked perfectly had he come back.
  10. There are a lot of teams that still run a 3-4 as a base defense. I believe a majority of the SEC along with some PAC schools run a 3-4 as a base. I could see the advantages of running one but there are also disadvantages. You can get more speed on the field but you will also lose size. It is a pick your poison kind of deal. Who runs it in those conferences? Alabama? Georgia may have. It's not coming. The NT and OLB positions are very difficult to recruit effectively for. Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, A&M, Tennessee and Florida have ran a 3-4 as their base in the last year or 2. Both Mississippi schools and LSU are looking to run a 3-4 this coming year. Notre Dame has ran a 3-4 since Kelly took over. In the Pac, Stanford, Oregon and Washington run a 3-4 along with Cal. Indiana, Maryland and Wisconsin have been running a 3-4 off and on. As far as recruiting goes, it isn't any different then recruiting for a 4-3. You have one less DT/NG to recruit and you recruit smaller DEs that can also play OLB. We have recruited some damn good OLB recruits the last couple years. The only thing hurting is the DT/NG recruiting. The thing is, all those LB recruits have to be hits, or else we would fall right back into a depth problem at that position again.
  11. Little Ameer can find holes, but big bad Imani can't? Come on man. Like I said, I admire what he has, but he isn't the great back that he has been expected to be, Imani has been in many positions this year to make plays. All 80+ carries of his weren't on short downs. Yes, he hits his OL first. This has NOTHING to do with "how bad the OL is", it has to do with his poor field vision, and inability to see the holes develop and hit them when they are there. He has no patience, something Ameer has. This is why Ameer is so successful. He is patient, he doesn't get the ball and run forward like Imani, he waits and works behind his OL, and when he sees a gap, he hits it hard. Afalava's grades, if that is the reason, are solely his fault. Roach, Rose, Love, Bandares and Gerry got talked about WAY more than Afalava did. Bo and company never said that Afalava was one of the few people to come in and make an impact right away. If I remember it correctly, he said there are a group of young LBers who could come in and make an immediate impact. Afalava was one of them for a short time. It sucks to lose Afalava, but its not the end of the program and its quite dishonest to say it ruins it by any means. Your statement "I now how this story ends, losses like these tend to linger in Bo Pelini programs for multiple years.", is true to a certain point, but you also neglect that last year was Bo's last year with his first recruiting class, which we can all admit, lacked a lot of talent. There is depth at each and every position now, something we have never had in Bo's tenure. Moss, its one incodent, Bo gave him a second chance. IF the kid showed himself again, then I am sure he will be gone. That somehow is the rumor, but the rumor being more favorable, is him entering a dorm that he wasn't allowed to be in. You kick a kid off the team for that? Come on. Suspend for a game or two, sure. "but it means we can end the fable that Bo Pelini is some paragon of doing things the right way above all else." So far, Bo is doing everything by the books. The kid hasn't been convicted of anything, so therefore nothing has been done on Bo's end. Would it even be fair to suspend the kid for something that happened half a year earlier? Put the kid on a short leash, and if he violates it in a big way, then do something about it. From what I've heard, Moss may not be within Bo's control. He may be thrown completely out of school because of his transgressions.
  12. Hmm, no. Works fine for me. Does the page not load? Headphones help, but it's pretty clear what Taylor and Sharpe are saying at points. - Taylor: "I like him, but Ameer's a fumbler" - Sharpe: "Pelini coached scared" - Taylor: "If you keep asking for it, you're gonna get fired" "Self fulfilling prophecy" - Davison's doing the TV show - Pelini told Sharpe: "If I'm not the head coach anymore, why would I do the TV show?" - Sharpe thinks something is "coming out tonight", while Taylor said something to the extent about how something won't happen until the bowl game. - Sharpe: "Beck will be the interim" Taylor - "No, no no no....he can't handle that". Well darn I was hoping this would be a chance for us to finally see Mike Nobler That may be the best shirt/tie combination in the history of everything.

  14. There was a hot mic or two around Gary Sharpe and Steve Taylor tonight, and an INCREDIBLY candid discussion between the two was uploaded over RKIII's press conference on Huskers.com. Severe uploaded it to Soundcloud....give it a listen https://soundcloud.com/mszone-1/greg-sharpe-and-steve-taylor
  15. Suck it, Broncos?

  16. Worst decision by New England? Or Worstest decision?

  17. I have always been on the Richt bandwagon, if we have an opening and he's available.

Lyons in the Sea of Red.

It is a bit concerning how much our players are caring about what goes on in the twitter world. I see bell called out another fan this week. Be better than that.

  22. how many scholarships does your nephew have?? Doesn't matter how many he had, he's the only one in this conversation to actually study, prepare and play against the kid. okay well i don't really care about your nephew... I'm sure he is a great kid but i guess wisconsin, nebraska, arizona, missouri, penn state, USC and a whole bunch of others must be wrong If you want to bury your head in the sand with his offer list, that's fine. I'm just telling you what someone with firsthand knowledge of playing against the kid has to say.

  24. Talked to my nephew about him (he plays at Butler, and has played against Keel twice this year) and isn't a fan. Says Keel plays soft; you can hit him in the mouth and he backs down.
