  1. Oregon runs the spread option. Very similar to what Nebraska was just starting to run in 1997 before Osborne Retired and Solich went more conservative. Similar to what we ran last year I'd say. Or where we have been trying to get to recently, at least. Remember how sick of the read option we got last year? Guys were denouncing it left and right. Because we ran it 75% of the time and half the time Taylor made the wrong read. Uhhh.....because he had a bad ankle on one leg and turf toe on the other "might" have had something to do with it? I didn't realize that you read defenses with your ankles and your toes...
  2. Can it be time for football yet?

  3. Well, I'm NOT playing NCAA 12 at the moment. It's a buggy, glitchy piece of tar. It might not ever get played if EA doesn't patch it soon.
  4. I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but the '95 uniforms were FAR AND AWAY better than the unis from '99-'01. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the stripes on the pants, but the NEBRASKA across the jersey during the Solich Era always struck me as tacky more than anything.
  5. I went to Southwest and made a pretty accurate version for my senior year. Roster and all. Wish they had Teambuilder for everyone of EA's sports games. And here are the teams I've made. Some real ones, some fictional. My link If you have a fairly accurate roster with numbers positions and height and weight I would greatly appreciate if you could get that to me I wish EA would just store all the teams in the same format, then let you download them to whichever console you use, rather than making them console-exclusive, dependent on which one you use.
  6. http://www.easports.com/teambuilder#/browse/search/most_popular/0/author:CDS923;ps3:1;xbox:1;web:1;sku:3 Here are the teams I've created thus far....360 only, though.
  7. 360 or PS3? I've created Chase County, but just random names for the roster.
  8. Thus far, a vast majority of BF3 clips shown have been from the PC version, which are better than what will be put out by both MW3 and BF3 on consoles. And I'll get MW3. I've tried Battlefield games, and the feel just isn't there. That, and most everyone in my social gaming circle will have MW3, and I get First Person Shooters to play with friends.
  9. I completely agree. His style is terrible, his attitude is terrible and he's really just a pot stirrer. I haven't been a fan clear back to his days at the Daily Nebraskan.
  10. I've watched and read up a lot on Armstrong, and I have to say that he's my top QB recruit this year, ahead of both Alford and Fuller (more on him later). Armstrong is the best pure QB recruit that we're on right now, and is the best one we have a chance of landing. His throwing motion has a kink or two in it, but his delivery is smooth. A change in his lead-arm placement would probably do him good, but as a HS Junior, his motion looks better than Taylor's does as a college RS Sophomore. It doesn't look like he has Taylor (or even Brion's) speed, but he is deceptively fast. The one thing that really interests me is going to be seeing him play without Malcolm Brown in the same backfield; now all 11 sets of eyes will be on him as opposed to the best RB in the country. Regardless, I think he's got the potential to be a star, and he's really high on Nebraska. When we first started recruiting him, we weren't in a position to take a QB; we told Tommy that his offer was, pretty much, contingent on what Starling was going to do. After CGreen left, Beck had a conversation with him, told him circumstances had changed, and that we had a spot for him. Tommy was incredibly impressed with the honesty and and the way Beck and Bo handled that part of the process, and that's when we really shot up to the top of his board. *A note on Fuller: I think we have a good shot at landing him, but I don't think he'll be a QB at the next level. He's too much of an athletic freak to sit behind TMart, Carnes and possibly Turner. He'll move to another position and play immediately.
  11. Just for those who are worrying, Cody is listed at 6'4, 225. Not fat, by any stretch of the imagination.
  12. Can we all just agree on one thing: that nobody should ever link to a Bleacher Report "article"? 99% of them are terribly written, and if they originated from Husker Board, they would be mocked relentlessly. People take them too seriously, while they really are just poor message board posts that pass as "blogs".
  13. I don't know what everyone is complaining about...this is easily the best NCAA game in years, possibly ever. Repeat after me: SLIDERS ARE MY FRIEND. They are there so that you can customize your gaming experience to what you think is best/funnest/most fair. Or, how about lowering the difficulty a level. You don't HAVE to play on Heisman, you know. I play on All American, with the sliders turned up in most instances, and this game is a blast. No troubles playing pass defense, a little trouble with run defense (because RB ability for the CPU is turned up), and on offense, passing is difficult, mostly because our O-line is terrible at pass blocking, and our QBs are erratic, accuracy-wise.
  14. Thats not true halo 3 is a great game No, its not. The hit box is lagged so no matter how well you can aim, the game is designed to have the RNG overpower skill. Each map is fundamentally flawed The BR is also powered by a RNG that will produce shots that stray from the path in which they would normally go I could go on and on and on.... Halo 3 is a bad game, which is why it was so unsuccessful at MLG, especially compared to the success of Halo 2. Although if you play the game like some people do, and just enjoy running around and shooting things, having no interest in LAN, Tournaments or MLG entry I guess halo 3 is.... fun? God forbid he enjoys a game that you don't.
  15. Oklahoma. By far. KU, KSU, CU would be fine. But OU needs to be our first target.
  16. It would be better if she took it off and never wore it or any other Husker clothing again. She, and the likes of her, are not Husker-worthy. Idiotic post is idiotic.
  17. Frazier was my idol growing up. Always wanted to be him. I really liked Calvin Jones too. Dr. Osborne was probably a role model to every young Husker fan in Nebraska for about 25 years.
  18. Turner to Chicago

  19. Niles Paul clearly was the most impressive player today. Yes, TMagic looked impressive running the ball. But to say he had an equal or better passing day that Green is a bit off. Green showed better decision-making skills as well as better accuracy. This race is going to go down to the wire, but I expect Zach to win. If Martinez is ahead of Green in the fall, I think there needs to be a serious discussion about RSing Green.
  20. All I have to say is.... GO TO HELL CAROLINA, GO TO HELL!
  21. Why don't you send your resume in? Dawkins is coaching at Stanford now. I highly doubt Nebraska pulls anyone away from Duke to coach here.
  22. I thought Newcombe was the better passer and a great runner, but he had a tendency to fall back and take the 10 yards sacks and run out of bounds that sometimes drove you nuts. What I would have loved to see was what O'Dell James would have done if he chose Nebraska instead of Baylor Still not seeing how Ganz is in anyones top 10 unless they just started watching football this century. Maybe because in just a year and a half's time, he set numerous records and was amazingly effective? He was a master of the offense....just compare the offensive efficency of 2008 to 2009. Sophomore quarterback Joe Dailey produced a record-breaking performance to lead the Nebraska football team to a 59-27 win over Baylor before a sellout crowd of 77,881 at Memorial Stadium. Dailey completed 13 of 20 passes for an NU record 342 yards, surpassing the previous record of 297 yards set by David Humm in 1973. Was it that hard to set records when most of the past QB'S never had to throw it up that much? Maybe you should go back through the schedules and see what he did against good competition. Missou, Oklahoma, What exactly was his biggest win? Clemson The game remained scoreless until the teams combined for 17 points in the final five minutes of the first half. The first score came courtesy of a Husker turnover, as Clemson's DeAndre McDaniel broke into the NU backfield and deflected an option pitch. He was able to find the end zone after the ball bounced right back up to him and he raced 28 yards for the game's first score. Trailing 7-3, Nebraska got the ball right back when Ty Steinkuhler tipped a Cullen Harper pass and Anthony West made a diving interception at the Clemson 27 with 1:05 left in the half. But the Huskers returned the favor on the very next play, as Ganz threw an interception that Crezdon Butler returned 59 yards down to the NU 13. Ganz hurt Nebraska defense more then any QB they played that year for every td he threw he probably had a turnover that set the other team up for a score. You're not seriously comparing Joe Ganz to Joe Dailey, are you? In your theory you said the reason Ganz was high was because he breaking records. Joe Dailey broke those same records so does this mean he was also in your top 10? Your comparing Ganz to Scott Frost Tommie Frazier Turner Gill Crouch Jerry Tagge Dave Humm I could go down the list probably another 10 qb's and the comparison of Ganz to them would be worse then Joe Dailey to Ganz IMO. Stats are great but wins mean a hell of a lot more and your QB is lacking in that department. Though this is supposed to be everyone favorite QB not the best, so I'm wrong in saying he shouldn't be in anyones top 10. I'm not saying Ganz was my favorite QB, but I'll throw him in the top 10 Husker QBs list any day. All you had to do was pay attention, and you'd be able to say he's a HELL of a lot closer to that top group than he is to Joe Dailey. That's just selling him, and his contributions to this program, very short. Did he win at the same clip as the 6 you listed? No. Those are some of the all-time best QBs in the history of college football. However, if we're playing the wins card, we have to take a look at what was around Joe when he was here. By that admission, you have to admire even more what Ganzy did while he was here. Top 5? No. Top 10? I'd put him there.
