  1. Haha. This. It pretty much sums these coaches up to a T.
  2. I know how you feel. I get sick of the forum being monopolized by those same couple dozen people and thier alt accounts doing nothing but taking jabs at the new staff. I'll take that over the constant sunshine pumping that goes on over Riley not to mention when Pelini was here any day of the week. Jesus that sh*t gets old.
  3. Even though Nebraska will have the home field advantage I just don't see us winning this game.
  4. This and I'll also add that it's clear they don't know what they're doing when it comes to the run game specifically. The personnel choices they've made, the play calling. The whole thing. The running game looks lost/confused.
  5. Really? So just how much money would we have to offer a new coach then???? To get a top coach like everyone is clamoring for? More then what we are paying Riley would be my guess, especially that they would have to be leaving where they are at now and would probably receive a counter offer. Of course certain hires would be offered more than we offered Mike Riley. Your statement implies that you somehow know that we don't 'have enough money' to get a 'top coach' so I was asking you if that's the case since you seem to know then just how much money could we offer someone? It's a simple question. We would be paying out $5.8 million/yr for the next 4 years for buyouts on Bo, Riley and SE. That doesn't include what we would be paying for assistants and other staff members in the athletic department. Now add another 3-5 million/yr to get a proven top coach and add 2-3 for assistants plus another 3/4-1 million for an AD and we will be paying upwards of 12-14 million/yr for coaches and athletic department staff. That would hurt us bad and then factor in that we wont get a full share of B1G money till 2018. It's a bad recipe to me. According to Forbes Nebraska ranked as the 15th most valuable college football team in 2014 (Texas was #1) with the football team bringing in 60 million dollars alone last year. The team itself in 2014 was valued at 73 million. These are just the 2014 numbers. We have enough money... College Football's Most Valuable Teams 2014 The teams value doesn't necessarily mean we have the money. It just means what it is worth. The whole Athletic department depends on the football revenue because that is what pays for everything. Last year, our whole athletic revenue was $94,797,692 and our expenses were $90,939,273. That means the Athletic Department netted $3,858,419. Now, starting paying these buyouts and paying more for a top coach and our profits dwindle a lot. After it was all said and done the football team profited 36 million dollars last year alone. Also keep in mind that most universities don't wait until a coaches contract is due to run out to fire them. Buyouts at major universities when coaches are fired is common and is just part of the business. Otherwise there would be longer tenures for coaches who were on the hot seat and less instances of turnover. If you think Nebraska doesn't have the money to get a top coach here then I'm not sure what else to tell you...

  9. Nebraska just needs a solid/good football coach. Someone who knows the game and will embrace the traditions we have here and more than anything else someone who will know how to motivate his players to be the best football players they can possibly be. I still think Scott Frost would have been the right hire here in terms of future. His proven success as an offensive coordinator at Oregon,, having previous ties to the program and knowing the tradition that was set here previously are all reasons he stands out to me. I also think he would be a helluva recruiter which of course is crucial. Eichorst f'd up. Like badly. Nebraska deserves to have a great coach running this program. I've even heard other people say college football as a whole was simply better when Nebraska was good. I can write all the wishful thoughts I want but in the end I think it's safe to say we're stuck. Pearlman, Eichorst and Riley aren't going anywhere at least this year. I'd be shocked even if after another sh**ty season of Nebraska football next year that Eichorst would have the nuts or wherewithal to fire Riley even then. Sigh....
  10. Honestly so sick of this excuse to not let Darlington play. If you're gonna take a kid who's had concussions anyways, and then not let him play because "Oh no he's had way too many concussions" what's the point of being on the team anyway? He's 4th on the depth chart bro.
  11. Heck why not give AJ Bush a shot. There's a better chance than not that it might not be pretty but then again after to losing to Illinois why not give it a try. If he starts turning the ball over or simply plays badly just put Tommy back in there.
  12. The time has come for it to be repealed or seriously amended. When that amendment was written they had muskets and flintlocks for chrissakes. The founding father's had no way of looking into the future. Gun violence and the death's that have resulted because of it isn't going to stop anytime soon. Times have changed for the worse.
  13. And for very good reason. You have all of these people justifying that firearms should remain legal because if an individual wants to go out and harm people or themselves that they will find a way. Complete and utter bullsh#t. How often do you hear about mass attacks involving anything other than a gun? Make firearm sales illegal already. There just isn't a reason for anyone to own a gun that isn't a hunting rifle or something. Exactly how I feel. In the end America has shown that it simply cannot handle legal firearms.
  14. That's most likely exactly what we're going to get. Sigh....... So I wonder if Wilbon's supposed lack of pass protecting skills will be bad enough to keep him on the bench entirely for a 3rd straight week. I can't believe I just typed that...
