  1. Turned the channel to watch a few mins of a local high school game here in Chicago and one of the announcers just said Jordan Westerkamp was the best route runner of any high school wide receiver he's ever seen. Nice.
  2. Jacksonville State showing you in the last few minutes of this game how to not play football.
  3. Nothing like getting the ball at the 35 with 39 seconds left and then taking a knee to get to overtime. Laaaaaaame. I was rooting for Jacksonville and still am but talk about laying down.
  4. You need to do some more googling. First, Calhoun is pushing 50 years of age. As for Calhoun pushing 50 the coach we have now has been there and done that and then some so he's done pushed that already but hey Calhoun is pushing 50!
  5. A lot of those players were only good compared to their teammates, so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here. There's a lot of talent there. Too much to end up being unranked one would think. Then again it's a Pelini team we're talking about here. We lost to every ranked team we played that year and the 62-28 thrashing we took at Oklahoma didn't help our case. Missouri also beat us 52-17 that season.
  6. So will all of these receivers who are out for Miami tonight be back in time for the game against Nebraska? I still see the NU/Miami game as a tossup. It could be a crazy game since NU and Miami's defenses seem to be their respective teams weak spot.
  7. Miami and Brad Kayaa vs Florida Atlantic tonight on Fox Sports 1.

  8. Yeah I'm right there with you. Establish a running game. Given our opponent not sure how much stock one could put into that if we had a big rushing day but it definitely would be encouraging to see. Also if Nebraska pulls away put Ryker Fyfe into the game. He needs reps. I would be happy seeing these two things.

  10. I think the a big problem is that we Husker fans aren't willing to wait and build are program back up. We want instant gratification. We see MSU, Minnesota, or Arizona and how they are really on an upswing. Kill didn't come in and win at Minnesota right away, neither did Dantonio or Rich Rod at any place he has been. They built those programs over years and are seeing the fruits of their labor. We want to see instant results. IDK, it's been 15 seasons since we were a truly relevant time. I'd hardly call that impatient. Yes it is partly what saunders said. I can't expect Riley to win right off the bat. That would be totally unfair. I was commenting on the future not this season. If Riley turned out to have a storybook ending to his own personal career I think that would be amazing and I would love to eat crow. I just don't see it.
  11. The big question is does anyone see Riley really getting Nebraska back to say even being a team that can regularly finish in the top 15 or at least flirt with being a top 15 team every season? I don't see things changing in terms of where Nebraska ends up at the end of the season other than you won't see our head coach having an aneurysm on national tv on a semi weekly basis during the season. I actually don't see the BYU game being as big an indicator as some do in terms of where the program is headed given that it is/was obviously Riley's first game with players that he didn't even recruit. At the same time to get the point I see things staying pretty much the same as they were when Pelini was here if not worse except again no snippet on ESPN of our head coaching having a public meltdown every now and then. Nebraska's been in a rut and I don't see that changing. Not with the current coaches we have in place. Wish I felt differently but I don't.
  12. 2 games so far. Runs scored up to this point. (w 2 innings left in the 2nd game) Cardinals - 0 Cubs - 17
  13. I thought the exact same thing.gave me flashbacks of Bill Callahan Heh. I re watched the game except sober this time and that's exactly what they remind me of.
  14. Hehe. If he went to the sideline and scarfed on some cheetos that would rule. The world needs more fat kickers!

  17. Had a really good game this Saturday and seems to be the receiver that Armstrong looks the most comfortable finding. Looking forward to another amazing year for him this year. He's fun to watch.
