  1. So after a week of playing a dynasty with sliders and some roster tweaking I think the fundamental problem with the game no matter what you change is reaction time. But it happens on offense and defense and both contribute to one big cluster f#*k. And they only happen to the Human not the AI as far as I can tell. First The defense they react instantaneously. Starting with the DL and LBs; the second you hit the button for a receiver the instant the QB's arm begins to move back the jumping animation begins and if they do jump you're screwed Because 99% of the time it will be blocked or tipped and picked. The DB's; aside from the eyes in the back of their head they aren't quite as bad because realistically they have more time to judge the ball, but on short routs they "anticipate" the route almost perfectly and even if they were a step or two behind when you hit the button for the open receiver they are there in front of him by the time the ball arrives. Because somehow they knew exactly where the route was going and when and where the ball was being thrown before the receiver did. The other problem is on offense and it affects the running game somewhat but mostly the passing game again. For starters PA will almost never work under a blitz mostly because you have to wait for the animation to complete even though you are done with the fake and have a receiver wide open. Second If you do make it out of a tackle you're stuck in another animation and the QB has to set his feet for some reason even though he may now have 15 yards to scramble with down field. Not to mention once you do make it out the animation even if you hold down sprint he shuffles around until he crosses the line of scrimmage. (that could be due to the pocket pass tendency and renamed rosters issue, not sure yet) And if you are strictly passing but under dearest you can hit the button before they get to you and still not pass the ball for a second, resulting in a sack or fumble. not to mention HB screens only work half the time because for some idiotic reason the HB drops the pass that hit his face, or he wasn't looking at you. (but if he was a DB it wouldn't matter because of the eyes in back) And the running issue plays off of this passing issue, but it's always been a gripe I've had, it take to long to cover up a ball/juke/truck before you get tackled. It really makes you feel disconnected from the player. Now take all that and switch the AI and Human and the results... well they aren't the same my Dline makes no attempt on a tackle a foot away corners get fooled on slants and hitches and the QB is superb with his timing and scrambling. And I know it's a long grip but that really is the basic problem, reaction times. The other stuff like INT's, fumbles, dropped balls is usually a result of this. If they add some form of reaction times for AI next year and tone down the wait for human inputs they could have a near perfect game, play wise.
  2. Somebody had a case of the Mondays... the games frustrating no doubt, but He's right you have to adapt. Hell I have BYU, listed as an air raid offense, and I find myself with an almost balanced offense and a few games I think I had more rushing than passing yardage. Dumb stuff happens and it happens in the real world too you just got to deal with it. Find plays that work and mix em up I really only run more than about 7 or 8 plays, but they're out of different formations and I audible a couple hot routes now and again. Now you quit and that's your right I hate loosing too, but personally I'd rather finish out the season and see what happens then give in after 4 or 5 games.
  3. Never snuck booze in and only went to one game mildly intoxicated and I didn't enjoy it that much. I felt like I couldn't pay attention and bathroom breaks were annoying. But I can remember an early season game freshmen or sophomore year this kid I was next to in east stadium reached in his jacket/shirt and this can of keystone comes falling out and lands on the ground. I was pretty impressed that he got that in, he wasn't a very big kid and I think he had jeans on and not cargoes.
  4. Noooooooo-oooooo-ooooooooo! You know it to be true
  5. Dear Harvey Please pay attention to Dobson rule #9 Sincerely, Bo
  6. Do they have the 5th amendment in Sweden? Seems like a harsh way to answer the poor man's question.
  7. I don't know but it had damn well better be fast and it had damn well better be good! I have never ever EVER sold a game back, but this one is really coming close to that point for me. I can not beat Fresno state in dynasty with Gatorbate's roster (and some customizations AND adjusting sliders) by more than a TD, not to mention if I do win the score is in the teens every time. Don't even get me started about online after going on a 4 game win streak I get blown out with no offensive TDs in 3 straight games and the opposing teams in the 38+ range. I know I'm not good but I sure as hell know I'm not that bad.
  8. Actually that no call at ISU while unforgivable is understandable. I remember thinking how could you miss that! But I watch several different replays from different angles and watched evey official on the field, the two who had the best views iirc were the umpire and the near sideline judge and both were obscured by our players, not to mention Cody Green was screening the official from the pile. So I dont have a problem with us getting the penalty because thats the way things go sometimes it's the human element, but the fact that it was clearly malicious and the office did nothing about it yet penalized Martin for something arguably much less intentional and malicious is just outragious
  9. Just a heads up I'm going to a wedding this weekend so I won't be able to play week 3 if we advance till Sunday night or Monday. If you guys are waiting on me at that point just sim it.
  10. On field goals you need to lower the trajectory in order to get distance, just push the stick down that you aim with and line it up. As far as defense against the computer I like to use nickle for 3+ recievers, the 1-5-5 works pretty well with some blitzes mixed in. 2 WRs or less and I use 4-3, 46(mostly goal line short yardage), and 4-4. as far as plays cover 2 sink seems to work pretty well against a lot of plays and cover 2 man is ok for a basic D. Dont be scared to blitz but try not to use all out biltzes a lot because you can get burned real bad on passes or runs. And use the adjustments for the line and ball strips. You'll get some offsides but it can pay off with sacks. Mostly you just need to play and see what feels comfortable, could take a week or two to figure it out.
  11. This in combination with their rediculous leaping ability is what usually gets me, but theoretically stopping on a dime like they do shouldn't be happening with the momentum feature they put in last year.
  12. I wouldnt be apposed to adjusting for it if we need to. I'm not sure about the touch but I'll have to try it. Seems like this year has a very steep learning curve compared to the last few years. Superman LBs are just killing me on verticle fours and other post routs with the new coverage.
  13. I probably shouldnt tell you I really wanted stanford should I...
  14. Actually I found him to be somewhat realistic in his passing, at times it's stellar but other times he over throws em on a wide open td or throws behind on a slant route. But I really think he is ridiculously underrated in his running. It seems like they didn't even touch his running ratings from last and sometimes he even seems slower. Zac Lee was faster in this game last year and could run any option better than Taylor can this year. I bumped his acceleration up to 90 and it still didn't feel right so I had to put it at 99 and put his speed up to 90 and it felt pretty close to what he looks like. I honestly feel for players like him and Dennard and a few others they need to rewrite acceleration these guys first steps just can't be created in this game. On a side note anyone else really struggling with NU's line they absolutely abysmal in all areas. I play on heisman by the way...
  15. Both interviews were pretty similar, talked about how busy he was this summer with subway, gumball rally, working with ubisoft, etc. They also talked about nick names for the lions defense said he like silver crush and the roarsome foursome. On the lions they cover his thoughts on Nick Fairley; he said he'd be willing to take him under his wing and work side by side with him and hopes he can start fresh and change the idea that people think he's lazy. Also said by the end of the year he expects him to be a great editions to their line. Talked a lot about how he had great mentors to learn from at Nebraska with Vanden Bosch and Raiola as well as the Peter brothers. Also talked about how Nebraska helped him develop his work ethic. Suh really has a lot of respect for veterans and his elders both on the lions and from Nebraska. They also talked about his guarantee of making it to the playoffs this year and how he feels that should always be the goal. He said the believe and showed last year that they could play with anybody and even beat the super bowl champs. Briefly talked about the chinstrap that he'll wear and concussion awareness that he's doing in the league and with youth sports. I know I missed some smaller things but those were all the main things they covered. He's got SO much potential not just on the field but with the media and everything else, really well spoken on both programs. He seems like he could become absolutely huge in the next few years with his sponsors, the media, and philanthropy. I could even see him in a commentary roll some day, I really think the sky is the limit for him at this point.
  16. Needs some pointers sir? Stanfords offense is pretty fun though and good to boot. Lot of power football options but I couldnt find many option plays.
  17. Figured i'd post it here rather than make a new thread. Suh is scheduled to be on sportscenter in about 30 minutes (11:40 ct).
  18. I don't even bother to run unless it's an option T-Mart to Burkhead. I don't feel that this game rewards you enough for running. Sometimes I will go in shotgun then run on the side where there are no blockers at to get the first down with Martinez. Overall the game is fun but it is very difficult when the AI scores everytime it gets the ball in the last 2 minutes. Too true my friend. Running seems to be just as hard as it was last year, i used last year sliders on 2012 to help even the game out. The result was Martinez's opening week he ran for 189 yards and Burkhead has 111 yds on the ground. Even Jamal Turner broke open for a 41 yd touchdown after a Jet Sweep handoff against FCS Midwest. Passing to me has become harder, almost near impossible without touching the sliders on the game. This is the biggest problem I have. Last year I think I threw at most 3 picks in a game just the other day online (seems like the AI is harder online) I threw 5 of them and only 1 or 2 were really poor choices. The rest were linebackers making their famous 30 inch vert superman pick on long balls that would sky any real life linebacker. Or a combination of the superman and warping... and they said that wouldn't happen anymore... Although its more of them AI being able to do a 180 and leap the opposite direction in a fraction of a second. And the other nasty one which really messes me up I just noticed tonight. Was the DB's playing in front of the WR's and coming around behind them and beating them to the ball on a crossing type route.
  19. With the exception of the first next-generation game, NCAA 2007, each installment has been better than the previous. Each year the game gets more realistic and less annoying to deal with. I don't think we'll take a step back until they come out with new consoles in about three or four years. The one thing that sucks about sports games is if you don't trade them in relatively soon after getting them, you get next to nothing back for your trade-in. I don't know about less annoying it's always about the same level of annoying for me even though the next game is always better than the last. EA has a history, to me, of under achieving and I fall for it every year. Doesn't mean I don't like the games They just frustrate the hell out of me more often than not. Rant on: This year they still haven't fixed PA passes and most of them don't work without getting sacked before you can even think about passing, which really screws with the poor play calling in RTG. Also left over from last year is the AI's ridiculous accuracy during the 2 minute drill although it's not quite as bad, they do seem to have some trouble once they get into the red zone. And there are some new issues like the huge lag time when you trying to use no huddle the game freezes for a good 2 or 3 seconds, and you can't access the play menu for a frustratingly long amount of time even when it runs again. The biggest issue that I noticed was when the opposing offense runs no huddle and they make a long play down field you players can't get back to the line before they snap the ball and you get an offsides penalty, happened to me twice in one game since the AI is ridiculous on the 2 minute drill. But hopefully this and the lag can be fixed in a future update. I just don't understand how they can always add new ideas and concepts and leave some really sketchy stuff in there by now they should have a close to stellar game. Rant off On a positive note next to FIFA this is probably the best non-shooting game by EA and it looks pretty damn good and plays for the most part very smooth with the new tackling engine.
  20. 1. how do our vehicles not burn up entering the atmosphere? 2. who knows but technology is always advancing 3. they are detected by radar in many cases, just google it and you get a bunch of hits. But like you said in #2 often times they completely out maneuver our fighters. I do find it hard to believe that we are alone in this vast universe. Have they made it here yet, I don't quite know what to think about that. But UFO's are just that, UFO's and sometimes they cannot be identified.
  21. That is probably on of the dumbest things I've ever heard of. On a side not I used to live over there...
  22. 1. Black 41 flash reverse 2. Harold Hartley's 60-yard TD catch against Notre Dame in 1922 3. Alex Henery Kick, Suh Pick 4. Mike Rozier's 100 yard run that went 5 yard for the TD against UCLA 1983 5. Will Shields's fumblerooski vs CU in 1992 6. The bounce rooskie 1982 vs Oklahoma 7. Prince Amukamara's INT vs. Oklahoma in 2009 8. Nate Swifts punt return against Virginia Tech in '08 9. Marlon Lucky touchdown pass to Nate Swift against Texas 10. 1982 - Scott Strasburger interception to end OU's final drive and sealed the victory for NU 28-24. It's a toss up between 1&2 for me I know how important the 1922 game was but it's so distant and there's not much there too see, but every time I watch Black 41 Flash it gives me chills, especially with the radio play by play over-dub.
  23. Or last year a QB draw, but if he was feeling ballzy he might mix in a little bubble screen that averages 3-4 yards.
