  1. I don't remeber who it was but somebody took a dive before a play was about to begin in the second half and everyone (maybe just the student section?) started booing him, next thing you know he's up and hopping around.
  2. The refs didn't beat us. We (the receivers) beat ourselves. Texas did not dominate. Including kick return yards, we outgained Texas. Had we caught some of those long passes, we would have won. That said, the refs were biased and it really angers me. I'll be glad to put behind us the Longhorns and whatever conference they want to poison. Yes we missed some huge passes that would have changed the game, but on the other hand if we could have got the obvious holding calls on 3rd downs and 2nd and longs its a whole different ballgame as well. I think it's a tossup between who shot us in the foot more, ourselves or the officials, and we win by a slight margin...
  3. He only drops 'em because he doesn't get enough balls thrown his way, duh!

    GAME SPEACH

Judging by the one I've seen I'd say it'll be loud, intense, and contain more than a hand full of expletives.
  5. No,no, no that's the T-Magic Incident. By the way I like the floating hand and its questionable position in you sig.
  6. Found this article through a friends facebook. Taylor's dad talks about their family, the nickname, and what Taylor means to him. Link couple of quotes made me wonder if he was one of the reasons our defense was so good last year.
  7. Nevermind that Nebraska has wanted to be a part of the Big 10 going back a hundred years to when it was the Big 9...
  8. I wouldn't mind having the same weather we did last time they were here. Beautiful to start not terribly cold but it then some snow... just enough to let'em know they're not in austin any more.
  9. ^ Not bad Ryan but but why did you take bill's face off the zombie poster and put that younger looking fellow on there instead? Thanks
  10. He was pretty tongue in cheek with that remark. Every team is going to take a day or two of during a bye week escpecially with the confrence grind coming up. Besides they still do workouts to stay in condition and I bet some guys spent their free time in the film room, so its not like they sat around chuggin beers or something.
  11. Didn't feel like studying for my test, so here goes... *Edit: late night typos sorry*
  12. I would say that a couple things were exposed in this game and hopefully they were just under-coaching or lack of preparation, since those are easier to fix. The first and most obvious was that the line did not come to play. The biggest problems were not sustaining blocks long enough, and just plain getting beat, escpecially on the edges. A friend made the comment at the game that the running backs weren't doing to hot, and I asked him how he expected them to do much when they have to start putting moves on defenders in their own backfield. I'll give SDSU credit they came to play tonight, but we just left our emotion at the door and were completely flat and that first fumble didn't help things either. I think what won the game for the most part was just better athelets on both sides of the ball. The other thing I notice was a lack of adjustment in play calling through most of the game. I'm all for running the same play till they can stop it, but once it's stopped usually you move down the palybook and find another one to call. It seems like we relied heavily on the read option, and a lot of one back sets from the shot gun like we did in the Washinton game. But once those plays we stopped we either ran it again for the same result or went to the air (with mediocar results at best). Seems to me when you having a hard time getting the run working out of one back sets and your not having much success through the air you might want to bring another body into the back field to help block, or move under center with a fullback and use more power oriented run plays. I know it was the 4th quarter, but towards the end of the game we ran a couple of plays out of the I and it was able to get 6+ yards. I just can't understand the lack of adjustment here, I really hope it was a lack of respect that was reflected in the preperation and game plan rather than something else.
  13. I completely agree. This always reminds me of the debate we had in our civics class in high school, is the government responsible for protecting the people or simply guarenteeing a republican form of government to the states.
  14. That's exactly what he's getting at. It’s a round about way of saying we've become too greedy. And don't slam me for this because I don't think there is anything wrong with it, but it's the same religious ideologies we've heard our entire lives. In reality it should have nothing to do with politics whatsoever so far as it’s a view point a lot of people in this country whether they be democrat, republican, independent, liberal, conservative, what have you, share. I know it’s idyllic but that’s the way I see things.
  15. Yeah, but Mizzou has even more offensive talent. And probably better special teams too. Not sure of either teams' defense. SDSU over MU would be a pretty big upset - the line has MU favored by 14. If Mizzou doesn't win by at least two touchdowns, I'll be truly amazed. Never mis-underestimate Gary Pinkel's ability to coach his way out of a win!
  16. I'm surprised nobody has mention TCU's uniforms, I thought they were pretty cool looking and defiantly unique. LINK I'm in the minority on VTech's uniforms as well I really like how the strips on the helmets faded from dark maroon into the orange, but the numbers were strange. I think they probably would have looked better had the designs in them actually had significance. As for our uniforms over the years I really like the style of our uniforms right now, but my favorite jersey material would have to be the mesh of the early 90's (probably because that's what I first played in for midget football). If you could some how make the frog skin look into a "mock-mesh" look I think that would be a nice change of pace, maybe a throw back for the 20th anniversary of all those championships (that makes me feel old just saying that and I'm only 22, its been far too long). But anyways putting aside everyone's opinions, from an artistic stand point it's pretty hard to think of a unique "pro combat" design for Nebraska. Like Penn St. or Bama we've been wearing almost the same style of uniform for so long and then there's everything else, like logos, that are so plane Jane there isn't really much to work with. Even the state itself doesn't offer that much, i.e. Mizzou's matte black paying homage to the B-2 base and TCU's frog skin, what are we going to do disguise a big phallic object for chimney rock or the capitol, or even an ear of corn? One thing I'd really, really like to see with any type of uniform is white shoes with black adidas stripes on the side and white socks. Maybe you could even use red strips. But either way I think that would look pretty sharp, not to mention Muhammad Ali always made that scheme look damn good, and everyone knows what he could do with his footwork!

    Thenarse

Asante had the same style last year, and everytime you cringe and just wonder if they're going to get up after the hit.
  18. I highly doubt it was a dislocated shoulder, he walked off the feild unassisted and wasn't favoring/holding his arm like you see with most dislocations. Granted some people hardly feel anything when they dislocate something. It was just a weird play Crick nearly killed the QB and Cameron looked the like lineman tried to make him bite his own knee sideways. I thought he could have got the wind knocked out of him too as bad as he was twisted when he hit the ground.

    QB Race

Actually the TD should have counted if they penalized the celebration. They only take away the TD if the celebration occurs before the player crosses the goal line, and and it's 15 yards from the spot of the foul. I got a bit of a laugh, never seen an offensive guy throw the bones. Niles comment was pretty funny post-game. They asked him if he saw Taylor throwing the Bones and he said, "Did he throw that?... He's confused then, we'll talk to him about it."
  20. Really glad to hear that they will be using Latravis in more than just mop-up duty. I always felt pretty bad, being he's such a good athlete and a great person, that he switched positions only to add depth and hardly see the field last year. This just put a big smile on my face
  21. I believe that is actually tebow demonstrating his throwing motion in real time.

    SUH

I'm sorry but it just disgusts me that people would call that play thug'ish. It's not like he kicked someone while they were down or spit in their face. It's been said a thousand times, football is a violent game, and that was a very violent play. The only problem I have with the play is that he used the face mask to gain his leverage. While it looks like a finishing move from mortal kombat in the slow-mo, in real time it's a different story. If you look at his hands and arms he had no intention of taking off Delhomme's head, they are wrapped around his shoulder, and let's not forget that Suh's style has always been to throw QB's once he catches them. In the 2 seconds it took for the play to finish once Suh made contact on the face mask less than half of that time was him throwing Jake after he wrapped him up, not to mention his knee only touch a half second before the play ended . There is no way he could have just let go and stopped throwing him in half of a second, once you get 215lbs moving there's not much that's going to stop it until it hits the ground.

    What If?

I know I'm a little late to the discussion hear, but you really can't read anything into that supposed tweet. That quote he used has been posted on his facebook page for at least a month now, if not longer. So I hate to burst the bubble but I really don't think you can read between the lines much in this case. On a side note we know Taylor's got the wheels, but from what little I've seen walking by the beginning of practice after class this week, Martinez and Lee appear to have the most consistent and best looking touch on their passes. Lee probably has the nicest ball, he's got a real tight spiral now and always hits the guy in stride. Taylor's aren't always as pretty but they are usually on target. After that everyone else looks about the same, not as much consistency in their throws. But what do I know, it's just practice and I'm just a fan walking by...
  24. I feel dumb for waiting that extra second to see if something needed to load before I scrolled down... Well played sir!
  25. Look at almost any picture from the Oklahoma or texas games last year that shows our D-line and 90% of the time you can see an arm wraped around a neck/body, or jerseys torn at the arm pit or ripped of the shoulder pads. I think they need to consider moving the umpire behinde the offense like the NFl has done this year. Then there would be absolutely no excuses anymore.
