This would also be the sophomore record, and he is on pace to destroy the freshman record for passing and total yards in a season and it will be a tight race to see if he passes the sophomore record for both of those as well. That is including playing in 2 less games than the other players assuming we don't make a bowl. All of the freshman records he is/might be passing are Taylor Martinez and all of the sophomore ones are Armstrong. Edit: looks like he also broke the freshman single game total offense record vs Wiscy

I know its never good enough for some who just expect perfect blocking and no penalties, but the line looked really good more than a few times this game. I honestly cant remember an NU QB that looked as comfortable passing and also had showstopping running ability like Martinez. He also left some plays on the table today not trusting himself, but he will get there. Seems like every half he plays he improves.

Again i dont see how a 15 yard and 10 yard penatly offset eachother.

There are very few players with the physical tools of someone like Howard. I wasn't saying being over-draft was a downside. I was making both sides of the argument. Pretty obviously i thought. It pretty universally agreed that he was under utilized at Bama. It worked out for him because he is a physical freak, but the point is Saban(or more accurately maybe Kiffin at the time) didnt change his offense for a single player. Of course if he had to he could do that probably, although you dont know until he does it, but if he is winning with huge backs pounding the ball then why would he switch it up.

Idk if that is true. OJ Howard in a different offense could have been a 1k yard TE and probably would have helped his draft stock. Saban doesnt venture too far from his boring offense. Now Bama does get a lot of eyes so they get a lot of player drafted and about half of them over-drafted.

I learned that buying in is not just saying you want to win. Its keeping focus and concentration when s#!t goes awry. Its working though and not giving up when things look bleak. If buying in was easy it wouldnt be an issue. I see some good things but a lot of areas to improve on. I knew when last season started that getting an new coach was gonna mean a while before we got good, but Frost got me too hyped that i forgot and drank too much koolaid. I still have faith in the long term we will get back on track.

Hmmm good point. Age is usually kinder to pampered celebrities over athletes. The weight gain after playing is hard to stop and all the time in the sun probably isnt great.

Idk about this. I don't mind Herbsteit, I think he is a good announcer most of the time and I dont think he has a bias against us. He is like normal person off the street good looking but not some Adonis. He just looks like average white guy with added makeup and bleached teeth.

To me it looks like 5 is the read for the handoff, so he makes the correct read although maybe it would have gone for a big gain anyway. The safety that is in on the tackle looks like he is the pitch read, but at that point Martinez gave up on the pitch and Spielman was not keeping up anyway. Also that LB that does most of the tackling just flew to the ball. Great play by him. In the future I would think Martinez would want to use Morgan as a screen and pitch it out to Spielman giving him a chance to dance down the sideline and be gone.
