Online/zoom classes can operate the exact same as in person. The class time has a set time just as normal in person class. You login for attendance and the teacher can call on students just as if in person. Programs also exist to take tests online, like examsoft, which lock the computer into that program for a set timeframe. However, most tests would need to be 'open book' under this scenario but there are ways to adjust. Obviously the biggest struggle would be uncooperative professors or professors who aren't tech savy. Again, these pieces are just ideas that are being floated at Universities, not just for athletes but all students which I know are being discussed (I've overheard my wife, who works in higher education, on zoom conferences).

Agree that #1 will be tougher, but if you can separate the players and as many student managers as possible it will help control monitoring and checking student managers who do have access to the team (or limiting their access and/or number of student managers). # 2 is much easier. A lot of campuses are going to live streaming and/or zoom classes.This involves the professor teaching in real time and students log-on and participate just as they would in person.

I really think the Power 5 teams and Big Ten should really look at quarantining/separating players on campus from the larger student populations. This would include separate dorms and fall sport athletes going to online/virtual classes. It seems Nebraska is moving this way in the dorm/living situation. That is really the only way I see a potential of a season that isn't interrupted by outbreaks on a couple teams like we are seeing in the MLB.

On a similar note, and from the reports, it seems we have hit on Farmer and Pola-Gates at safety (as much as you can 'hit' on two players who haven't seen any action ). Some speculation but Jones, Gray and Francois may have thought they'd be handed a starting spot after a year on an up-and-coming team but have seen the writing on the wall... just my 2 cents or red colored glasses.

Between Scott and Morrison, I agree and think Scott will burn his RS and be the 3rd (and compete for back-up reps) rb this year. Morrison may prove to be the better rb down the road but Scott is currently physically ready to contribute this coming year.

I think the studies are showing that indoor gatherings are the most pervasive cause of the spread as it is an airborne virus. In the Midwest the most likely places to contract are at work, restaurant/bar or church. Hopefully the businesses and churches will continue to implement social distancing and mask wearing. The restaurant/bar is tough but continued social distancing and reduced capacity should help.

It looks like they will only be down a coach for recruiting on the road when the dead period ends. Not that big of a deal imo.

If this goes forward with only conference games (versus no games at all) expect litigation over the force majeure language. I think it will be difficult to defend if you are able to play some games but not others - ie how can you claim inability to play SDSU at home over traveling to New Jersey/Rutgers. There is really no precedent for this that I'm aware of so it will be interesting on the legal end.

It's laughable some media outlets would put Frost on the hot seat after year 2. Shows a lack of pulse/knowledge of the rebuild and workings of the current AD administration.

I'm hopeful the reports on Cerni are true as well; however, he hasn't been around the game of football that long and I think it might take a year of adjustment. I know he's "just a punter" but there is still a bit of feel for the game at the position (including catching the snap and getting punt off with a live rush coming at you) and nerves at this level.

Good news and hope you are right! A broken arm is much easier to get back to 100% than a leg - which may never be as strong as before.

Braxton Clark is in line for a big year with a bunch of PT as the 3rd CB. Big future for this kid.
