  1. Completely agree. Was a bit hesitant to give QB an A, bc I think McCaffery needs a couple years to develop - mostly throwing with accuracy and reading pre-snap college defenses. However, as you point out, he’s the perfect fit to stick around and develop while putting separation in classes from Amart.
  2. I went with Bs for both. Benhart and Robinson are both A to At. However, the rest would seem to be projects with loads of upside potential. If either group landed another 4star that would put them into the A category for me.
  3. Agree - except I'd say Nance has a better chance to play as freshman over Chase since Nance is here this spring.
  4. Held getting some recognition for his recruiting efforts: "The second-year Nebraska running backs coach on Friday was honored by Rivals.com as one of the nation's top 25 recruiters for the class of 2019. He also made the top 25 in 2018." https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/held-honored-as-one-of-nation-s-top-recruiters-by/article_c32d227f-1001-59d5-b853-03698a30bcf7.html
  5. Awesome. Is this recent news or has Fong had his CB in for awhile?
  6. Colin Miller will be staying at ILB for the exact reason you point out - we need depth. Miller will compete with Honas for the starting job and even if he doesn't win it will see lots of meaningful snaps at ILB.
  7. Apparently we just disagree - and that's fine. Do you think Mills starts game 1?
  8. I couldn't get the link to work, so I googled Mills hudl film and took me to his junior college. Admittedly, my bad. But my overall point remains the same.
  9. You're acting as though I'm saying Mazour will be up for the Heisman. I'm merely stating I think he will get reps early in the season based on the reps he will get in spring and his position on the depth chart at the end of last year. Also, if your saying Mazour doesn't have the production, averaging 6.9 ypc isn't too shabby - but I digress. Perhaps you should watch the hudl films of both (with double screens) if you are trying to say Washington and Mazour have the same running style/body. Also, did you really just try to compare the films of a HS senior to that of a Junior College RB? Come on man, I can't do this with you today. LOL. Perhaps you should re-read my full post. I clearly think Mills will be a better running back than Mazour in the long run. I'm just not convinced that Mills will come to fall camp in-shape and in a position to know the playbook well enough to overtake reps from Mazour in game 1. That is all.
  10. LOL all you want - but Mazour was getting touches as the 3rd back last year (albeit in mop up time). Mazour will go through spring getting the 2nd touches. I think Mills will be a stud for us, I just think it will be tough for him (Mills) to come in and take reps from Mazour from the get-go when hes not here in spring, especially considering they have similar running styles. Now if Mills was here in spring I think its a different story.
  11. Washington will be the starter. Mazour will get 2nd team reps at the beginning (as he will be more familiar with the offense and fulfills the between the tackle RB role) but Mills will overtake Mazour's reps as the season goes on. Mazour was essentially 2nd team last year as Zig and Washington split reps with the 1s and Mazour was out with the 2nd team when mop up time came. The coaching staff likes Mazour's leadership and work ethic and will be tough for Mills to unseat as the backup as Mills is learning the offense in fall camp. I agree with you that touches will be split up among many players and positions.
  12. The timeline on how this has played out and the current predictions are a bit odd. He reportedly loved the trip to Lincoln and coaches, and sets an announcement for Monday following his trip. However, everyone seems to expect him to go TCU. Seems a bit odd to me.
  13. Legrone is not a WR but has the potential to develop into a very good receiving TE. Down the road I could see him splitting out wide (similar to Gronk) to create mismatches - but by no means should he be considered a WR.
  14. Miles should start looking for a real estate agent. Seat is more than warm after the last two performances.
  15. The safety position is wide open. I don't think CB was his natural position and he will get some run at safety this spring. We shall see.
  16. I'd agree with all but Tony Butler. I think Butler will have a good opportunity to make an impact/contribute this upcoming year.
  17. I believe Callahan is the top target but from what I've heard Austin is the 2nd choice. Makes since as Taylor and Austin played together in 05 and 06. Not saying Austin would move on, just that he is on the short list of candidates.
  18. There are now rumors circulating that Zac Taylor may go after Greg Austin as his oline coach for the Bengals.
  19. Finally hitting that .88 average. That should be the floor moving forward (hopefully).
  20. Miles is completely inept. The players gave up on him as well tonight and he has no control of this team.
  21. It will be interesting to see if there are a change of CBs later today based on him informing the coaches of his decision. If not, I would assume all is good for DONU.
  22. Thanks for the info as always Mav. Interesting to see no mention of Raridon - I really had high hopes for him.
  23. Based on the depth chart and playing time at the end of last season, I think Mazour will be the backup at the beginning of the season and Mills will get more and more carries as the backup as the season goes on.
