Craig Bohl will not be the next head coach at Nebraska even if we don't get Frost. We are not looking for another care taker of the program.

I'll save everyone a lot of time in hashing through this. It is obvious Scott Frost is our # 1 and we will offer him a lot of money to come here. Situations such as this are safe to predict. When you are right you look credible for the next story. If something melts down it is due to a last minute change of mind and no one can discredit that position. I'm skeptical of all this "inside" information. Not because it may not be true but it is not based on actual information.

To me this it means Moos will leave open the door for an announcement following the Penn State game that Riley's last game will be against Iowa and Riley will not be retained thereafter. This allows him to stay with his prior statement that there will not be a coaching change during the season as a loss at Penn State will result in a loss of bowl eligibility.

Through 9 games the leading receiver Stanley Morgan has 690 yards. Ozigbo, the leading rusher, has 431 yards. If this holds true through the end of the season, when was the last time the leading receiver had more yards than the leading rusher at Nebraska for the entire season? Has this ever happened before??

No inside info or anything but I think if we lose to Minnesota we will get an announcement of something next week. Just a gut feeling.

Playoff births every other year may be a bit much after the 20 years in purgatory we've experienced. Would I like that to happen - yes. But when you are evaluating P5 jobs Nebraska is in one of the best situations to succeed in - bc Nebraska is in the Big Ten West and has all the resources necessary.

I actually think he'd be given more time at Nebraska then he will at other places leading to lower pressure in the first few years. I know in the other fans I've talked to realize that after the Riley debacle this won't be turned around over night. However, if he just gets us to compete for the West title in the next couple years that will be seen as improvement - which should be one of the easiest things for a P5 coach to do. The bar for him is actually pretty low at Nebraska right now. After a couple years he will need to begin winning the West consistently but that is down the road.

I don't see any reason to keep him around either. Riley's comments about his convos with Moos lead me to believe he will announce he is retiring either before the Iowa game or immediately thereafter. I think we will be able to work out a deal in exchange for him claiming he is "retiring" and not being fired. There has to be some value to him allowing him to say he is "retiring" but i'm sure he will still want the majority of his buyout to do so because he will not be retiring on his own terms.

Agreed - if Frost says no you move on. We are Nebraska. If we do the search right then we will be able to find a qualified and competent football mind to lead us back. It may take lots of $ but waiting around for Frost is like waiting around for a girl who says now may not be right to date but maybe in the future. We all know that means she isn't interested and is banging other dudes. Move on.

There is also a lot of mis-information put out by media and agents. Media does it to discredit competitors and agents do it to bolster their clients. Prime example of a similar situation was Les Miles to Michigan. The facts which have came out after all reveal that was never even close to happening but mis-information was being put out by all parties as leverage.

If Notre Dame wins out they are in... they still have some quality opponents left on the schedule in undefeated Miami and Stanford.

This just further solidifies why Riley needs to be and will be gone after the season. Nail in coffin.

I think we can get Northwestern and Minnesota. No shot at Penn State and I think Iowa is too physical for us. If we lose to NW and/or Minnesota I don't see DONU making a bowl game.
