  1. The idea of McMullen, Maurice and Williams pounding on the interior line early in the game and then bringing in the explosiveness of the Davis twins is exciting.
  2. Completely agree. Also, I think people are underestimating the inroads he made in California as a high school coach. As you mentioned, not only did he start a program but I am sure he is somewhat familiar with the landscape, other coaches and what kids from Cali are looking for in a school.
  3. Try taking that until their junior season. The number of top level recruits left in the program is staggering. 2009 - 4 of the top 5 rated recruits were not here for their junior season. 2010 - 3 of the top 5 rated recruits were not here for their junior season. 2011- 2 of the top 5 rated recruits were not here for their junior season. 2012 - only 1 of the top 5 rated recruits not here for their junior season. 2013- 3 of the top 6 rated recruits not here for their junior season.
  4. I would agree.I suppose you want the coaches firedNot at all. I'm a reasonable guy. But I'm a realistic guy, like how it's looking like we'll end the cycle is disappointing. But when I said that two weeks ago I was told to wait till signing day. So I'll continue to wait and hope for the best.I am little frustrated by Dez, but figured we were 50/50 on Simmons. This is there first full year and believe this is a much better class then in the past. Too many think its the end of the world.I guess I'd disagree with it being better than in the past, it's pretty right on par. It's not the end of the world at all, but it's not necessarily what we needed. I'm pretty optimistic for next year's class and do really like some of the pieces we grabbed this year.I am looking at average player rating, not class rating as 30+ of Bo's classes never made it past a year. I don't think your information is accurate. They were discussing this on the local ESPN Husker radio station. They said that 30% of Bo's classes did not make it to school, got kicked off the team or left after year 1. Pretty sure that number is high. And even if it's not, it's a totally different discussion. Its not a different discussion. Just because Bo may have pulled similar recruiting ratings that didn't stick for more then a year or make it to campus is very relevant to this conversation. Bo's classes were also buoyed at the top of the class by individuals who never made it to campus... Monte Harrision, Tre Dixon and Bubba Starling all come to mind. Take those guys and add in others who left after a year and we see the result that was this year. I think the point is give this class some time. I don't see the defectors or atleast the high rate of defections after 0-2 years like we did under Bo in this class. Keeping kids around is a different discussion than recruiting them. And if we're looking at ratings of players currently on the roster, we were #25 this past year. If you recruit a kid that never shows up to campus but count him toward the average rating when comparing that class to another class it is exceedingly relevant to the discussion. Recruited kids that never get to campus is kind of an in-between state that could be in either. But that is such a small minority that it doesn't have much of an effect on the larger discussion. And you'd rather not even recruit the Starlings and Harrisons rather than take a chance they won't end up on campus? Was no one else recruiting them? I get your point but they (Starling and Harrison) still elected to go somewhere else - in their cases they chose baseball over Nebraska. They may have been a commit at one point (as its being speculated with Fitz as a silent commit) but they never ended up here. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. Sorry for derailing the thread. Hopefully we land get Simmons.

  7. Bray deserves every $ he gets and I would push for a multi year deal with him. I agree with your logic on moving the expiration and renewal dates. Perhaps last year was due to the timing of the hire of the staff and so forth.
  8. As with the rest of his recruitment I haven't read or heard anything about his recent trip. Has he made any comments about the visit? Any reaction or quotes from his parents? You got to think it made an impression having the Calabass crew in town...
  9. We'd literally be f'd. No we wouldn't. But it would be another punch to the stomach in how recruits view Nebraska. I disagree. We've landed a top 5 guard in the nation (Raridon) and are in (and possibly leading) for rivals #1 safety (L. Jackson).
  10. I expect to see Freedom, Williams, Maurice, McMullen - with Davis behind Freedom and Neal behind McMullen. Also, could see Carlos Davis overtaking Maurice by seasons end.
  11. Offense Pod 1 3 WR/S Isaiah Simmons 3 WR Desmond Fitzpatrick 0 WR Kalija Lipscomb [Vandy Commit 01/17/16] 0 WR Zach Farrar Offense Pod 2 2 OT Matt Farniok 1 OT Royce Newman 0 OT Jauan Williams 3 OT Alaric Jackson Defense Pod 1 3 CB Lamar Jackson 3 S Tony Butler 0 JUCO CB Devron Davis 0 DT Amir Watts Defense Pod 2 1 JUCO DE Tramal Ivy 3 DE Collin Miller 0 JUCO LB Kapri Doucet 2 LB Cameron Goode
  12. Hopefully Big Red South has some success. Either way, they will undoubtedly gain some experience which should bode well for if/when Riley retires down the road.
  13. With Ben McAdoo being hired as the Giants head coach - any rumblings as to him coming after Langsdorf as OC??
  14. Kid looks solid. Surprising he wasn't offered sooner. Like others have said - appears to be a late bloomer but does have a nice offer sheet. Hopefully we can close.
  15. I think the plan all along was to take a few more WRs if the right ones came along. So I don't think this is a plan B. Somewhat, I think that now that we are out of it with Farrar his recruitment is heating up as we have been looking to take 3 WR in this class.
  16. We definitely don't have an emergency at DT with the Davis twins red-shirting this year. I do agree it would be nice to build quality depth at the position.
  17. When you go back and look at the past 3-4 recruiting classes and look at the top recruits how many of our previous 'top recruits' ended up providing meaningful contributions? This is the first and foremost trend we need to buck.
  18. With this kids ball skills and the development in route running that we will receive under the incoming coaching staff he could be scary good. Kid has NFL potential.
  19. No. Comment was made in public with n expectation of privacy. The cited statutes deal with electronic and wire taping
  20. Anyone read the Chicago Tribune article on this or able to sum it up? Not a member to the Tribune but sounds provocative. Link to MSU's paper and its accusations. http://statenews.com/index.php/article/2012/09/msu_claims_ohio_state039s_game_film_was_incomplete
  21. :funnyhahah :funnyhahah :funnyhahah :funnyhahah :funnyhahah :funnyhahah We left a favoring division, who would do anything to make sure their "elite" would make it to a BCS bowl game. I am not even going to get into it, but by far, B1G has stiffer opponents in bowl games, as most face SEC teams. Last year the B1G was much more of a tougher conference than the B12. This year, I would say the same. You might have the argument about WV, but they have no defense, haven't played anyone with a strong defense and a potent offense, so they have yet to even be tested yet. Geno Smith is good, and will most likely win Heisman, but with no defense, it will be hard to go undefeated. If you didn't understand the context of what I was saying to someone saying OU was sooooo scared of us they fled our so called rivalry for the 110 year old Red River Shootout then so be it. To the entire Big XII ( and most of the nation) we appear as about as chickenchit fleeing to a weak conference, regardless I was using this as an example. Kettle meet Pot if you will, OU had legitimate reasons, some say we do too. Now that Texas A&M, Mizzou and the Buffs are all gone maybe the Big XII and Big Ten are on sort of equal ground but not when we " Left / Ran" Red River shootout = Six of the ten showings in the 200-2010 era featured one of the participants in the Bowl Championship Series National Championship Game (2000, 2003–05, and 2008–09) The game typically has conference or even national significance. Since 1945, one or both of the two teams has been ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation coming into 61 out of 66 games. Who is OU going to Pick? Texas said the same thing about Texas A&M when the whole SEC thing came about Seriously? you are seriously and idiot. OU didn't have to pick between Texas and Neb. They could have had a protected cross over game like the SEC did and like the Big Ten does now. You are also dead wrong about the OU-NEB rivalry. Many of my good friends are OU fans and I still catch crap about leaving and 'killing' the rivalry when every NEB fan knew the rivalry was already dead by not playing every year. However, as many posters have already mentioned, it isn't worth arguing with someone who blatantly disregards information and the facts out there.
