  1. O you will, on the 2017 Super Bowl Champion 49ers. I think they'd look better in Bears uniforms.
  2. Love it. I think we'll be seeing this guy back in a Husker uniform in 2015. I know Bo (or a different coach, perhaps) will keep him on a short leash. Would have been great to see him and Randy together again.
  3. I think we should just take all the seats out of the stadium so no one can complain about people standing in front of them, anymore.
  4. Had anyone heard about the new brick addition to the west stadium before this? I'm interested to see how that will turn out.
  5. Well first, the entire point of the flying spaghetti monster is that there ISN'T evidence that it exists or doesn't exist - that's the whole philosophical argument that the creator was making. The ontological argument, the first-cause argument, morality, the teleological argument and human history are a few examples - see more here - http://www.reasonablefaith.org/the-new-atheism-and-five-arguments-for-god As far as the distinction of Christianity over other religions, that rests solely on the resurrection. Yeah, I'm aware of the reason the whole FSM thing was done. But, like I said, it wouldn't surprise me if there are people out there who truly believe in the FSM and follow the pastafarianism religion. Doesn't really matter why the "religion" was created if people truly believe and follow it. Every argument in your link begs the question. None of those points are based off of any established logical reasoning. You cannot argue that everything in the universe has a cause because that's how God intended it, when the whole point of your argument is to prove God's existence. Your conclusion cannot be part of your reasoning. And what do you mean about the resurrection? There are plenty of religions that have resurrections tales.
  6. I totally agree, knapp. I have no problem with someone who follows a certain religion and is a good person, like Landlord seems to be. It's just a bit ridiculous to try and refute one religion with the same arguments that could easily be used to refute your own.
  7. Who's to say that there isn't evidence that the FSM exists? What legitimate evidence do you have for saying the Christian God exists? The fact is that there is no evidence for the existence of any deity, whether it be God or the FSM. It's pretty hypocritical to argue that the existence of one religions deity lack evidence of existence when yours is in the same boat. As much as I hate these cliche atheist quotes, I think this one fits pretty well, here: "I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." - Stephen Roberts
  8. To piggyback on what carlfense said, it's hard to qualify a "sincerely held belief". I would agree that that's a good starting point for determining if a religion is valid, but how can you tell if someone really believes in something? It wouldn't surprise me if there are folks out there who actually worship the FSM and go to Jedi church, but it's so hard to tell if they really believe in that stuff, or not.
  9. There are gonna be a lot of pissed off car owners tomorrow morning.

A lot of happy autobody shops. Woo hoo!

  10. Sure we have talent in the backfield, but how much of it is proven? How much is proven to be an every down back? Cross has yet to prove it, and has proved just to be a bruiser. Newby has had ok times, but nothing provable. Taylor has yet to play a collegiate snap. If I remember right, we were saying the same thing last year, and Abdullah got most of the carries. Abdullah shouldn't have to, but what's great, is we can put in Newby or Cross in when he feels to he needs a rest. I think this is a reason why we never really saw him wear down, and helps him stay "fresh". We shouldn't run him that much, but if he is fresh and wants to, give the kid the rock. Let him leave his Senior year the way he wants to (if he is absolutely healthy). I agree with you. The only "proven" RB outside of Ameer is Imani, and I don't know if I would call him proven. There just seems to be too much talent for Ameer to be running and putting up ridiculous yards, though. I hope he does, because I think he has a legit shot at the Heisman.
  11. Ameer has the ability to easily gain at least 1500 yards, but I don't think he will. There's too much talent in that running back stable, and if everyone stays healthy, Ameer shouldn't have to run the ball that much. If he runs as much as he did last year, though, I could see him getting to 1800-1900 yards.
  12. I think they're referring to this one from March: https://twitter.com/AFRO_THUNDER80/status/442836850495868929 Kenny Bell ‏@AFRO_THUNDER80 Great win. Now it's dinner time at the bell/okuyemi household pic.twitter.com/PXOOGnrSLK That makes my point moot.
  13. How did this thread go from being about Kenny shaving his head to a debate about the merits of paying student athletes? Have any of you guys thought that since it's summer that Kenny is probably at a relative or friend's house in that picture?
  14. I just started doing Layne Norton's PHAT program after a year of lifting. I've only been doing it a week and my ass is already kicked.
  15. I just finished Dragon Age II. This game definitely has its flaws, but it is better than Origins, in my opinion. The combat system took a huge departure from the first game, which was your traditional MMO-style point and click attack style, to a fast paced, action based system. It came out a few years ago, but the visuals are still up to par for games that have come out since then. My only complain about DA:II is that the setting is a bit bland and repetitive, but not so much so that it takes you out of the game.
  16. Yeah, I wasn't referring to you, but I guess the world revolves around JJ. I was referring to the view that a good amount of Christians, specifically Landlord, have about homosexuality. No one in this thread is afraid of religion. Some of us just find it laughable when religious people defend their bigoted beliefs with religion. No, the world doesn't revolve around me numbnuts but your comments were directed at me (that is what people assume when you reply directly to something they have said and when you use the word "you" in addressing them). Jeebus frikken crist, do I have to explain how everything works to you? But yeah, you didn't mean to say that was my position.........give me a f'ing break. You are trying to defend Landlord in your post, smarty pants. That's why I replied to you. You are defending him, and you are the one who brought about the discussion about non-believers not having morals. You made your bed, now sleep in it.
  17. Yeah, I wasn't referring to you, but I guess the world revolves around JJ. I was referring to the view that a good amount of Christians, specifically Landlord, have about homosexuality. 18. His Highness tschu has decreed. It has been written so it shall be. Lol. The only real bigotry and intolerance I have witnessed in this thread is bigotry towards believers and intolerance for their viewpoint. I guess that is the result when so many have failed to succeed at grasping the religion they claim to have studied so thoroughly or in other cases have not even given it a chance. Have fun playing with that moral compass that has no true north direction. Believe it or not, you don't need to be religious to have morals. The fact that you think you need a deity to tell you what's right or wrong is pretty silly. Frankly, it is intolerant to believe that two consenting adults shouldn't be allowed to have sex or marry because your holy book says so. It's the same justification that people used in days past to justify slavery.
  19. Landlord, you never said anything about homosexuality being bad, necessarily, but you did say that they make bad decisions. As if gay people choose to be gay. That has got to be one of the most idiotic statements anyone could possibly make about this issue. Why in God's green earth would someone choose to be gay? That would be like choosing to be black during most of America's history. And why is having gay sex a bad decision? Other than the fact that the Bible prohibits it, do you actually have a good reason for this belief? It's obvious that you don't strictly adhere to everything in the Bible, so I think it's a little hypocritical for you to base your opinions of homosexuality off of what the Bible says.
  20. What's your definition, and why should gays have to be tolerated? Why can't you just love and accept your fellow man for what he or she is? People on HuskerBoard tolerate me, because I have a propensity to say some stupid sh#t. Most people on HuskerBoard accept gays for what they are, because there is nothing wrong with being gay. Matt Chandler is promoting tolerance of gays, because their sin is just as sinful as any other sin. That's dumb. The whole idea of sin is dumb, and it's straight insulting to gays to compare their sexuality to something like murder or bestiality. It's just a way to hide hate in a pretty package. Hating gay people is hate, regardless of what the Bible or any other holy book says. How would you feel if the Bible said it was a sin to have sexual relations with someone a year younger than you, but those are the women you're attracted to? How would you feel if 33 states had laws that say you couldn't marry a woman a year younger than you? How would you feel if millions, perhaps billions, of people across the world hated you just because you are attracted to women a year younger than you? You'd probably feel pretty bad, huh? If you can't accept two men because they like to do the dirty with each other, then you just need to grow up. I'm sure they accept you for all the sins you're guilty of.
  21. Any dog is capable of violence if it's raised poorly, but the unfortunate thing about pit bulls is that they are specifically bred to be violent dogs. If they're raised correctly, they'll be just as well-behaved as any other dog, but if they're not well raised, they considerably more violent than most other dogs.
  22. This is so stupid. Your family isn't hurting for money, so why the hell are you out stealing bikes? Such a moronic thing to do. If this is all true, then boot his ass off the team. No need for people like him in the locker room.
  23. There's a place in Fallbrook called Toast that has some really good food and atmosphere.
  24. He currently has a full-time job at some car dealership in Lincoln. And said he would be enrolling in counseling. That's great to hear. I'm confident we'll be seeing him back on the team in 2015.
