  1. I have a feeling it will only get worse next year, thank you B1G.
  2. Haven't I heard this before regarding a JUCO DT? fingers crossed
  3. The Greg Davis hire is a really bad one. He ran a much different system at UT, and almost got Mack fired with it. Then Ferentz picks him as his guy. How do you think that is going to work out?
  4. I am assuming this guy is 3 years to play 2.
  5. I don't feel good about this. No info, just a bad feeling.
  6. Everyone will always want recruiting to be better, but a comparison to Iowa? Not even going to bother comparing the recruiting rankings, but NU is almost always 15-25 depending on class size. I can't rember Iowa ever being top 25. Worst thread ever.
  7. I have been thinking about this a lot lately, guess its the offseason. I loved the move to the B1G, and there is no question it was the right move. The additions of Rutgers and Maryland are changing my love fest. The new divisions suck, we replace Michigan, MSU, and PennSt with Wisconsin, Illinois, and Purdue. In addition instead of seeing OSU on the schedule they will often be replaced by Rutgers or Maryland. I hate it. That said I would rather travel to Illinois where they just don't care as opposed to going to ISU where they just hate Nebraska.
  8. Yes, expansion is all but dead in the ACC territories. But Missouri and Kansas are still viable possibilities; the former at any given time (unless the SEC institutes an agreement and exit fees), and the later when/if Texass pulls the trigger to go west. Just food for thought. May not be the exiting move into North Carolina and Georgia like people were wanting, but I would think we could get behind an expansion to 16 that brought these two Ws back to us every year. I don't know what to think about anything Gordon Gee says, but he is interesting. I'm pretty sure this is the first time anything has been mentioned about Kansas from anyone who is anyone. I remember the initial rumor being NU, Missourri, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Pitt. Man, that seems like a decade ago.
  9. I would say it is a risk to assume either one could put on the weight to play O-line.
  10. The thing I love about B1G is the road trips. I enjoy Big8 history, but except OU all those teams hated NU and visiting those stadiums was not always fun. In the B1G it seems NU is appreciated by everyone but Iowa. It may just be a honeymoon, but I am enjoying it.
  11. What difference does it make? In the end, if you want to be there-like 91,999 other folks-youre gonna pay it and youre gonna be there, just the same. Your right, I am going to pay it. Just disappointed with this awfull home schedule, and with the whole schedule. Not even many interesting games to travel to. I will pay it, but I will also be selling more of those tickets also.
  12. 2014 home schedule of Illinois, Rutgers, Purdue, and Minnisota. How much do you want me to pay for that?
  13. Alex Lewis, OT from Pheonix, son of Bill Lewis. Played 2 seasons at Colorado.
  14. an at-large invite to the NCAA tournament never gets a 16 seed.
  15. Could this network possibly be interested in B1G teir 1 rights? Of course they will.
  16. Luke was on 1620's Unsportsmanlike Conduct yesterday. He said he was tempted to commit when offered, but wants to see what other offers come and possibly go to some camps. He sounded like he's N in my opinion.
  17. Rumors have slowed, so I find myself going over these rumors in my head to make some sense of it all. We know the result of Maryland vs the ACC have a huge impact on any ACC members leaving for the B1G, but if this is favorable for Maryland. I hear enough rumors that make me think UVA is #15, but haven't heard enough to make me think UNC is #16. I have been trolling these schools message boards and both schools are against any move from the ACC barring all out armagedon. I think GaTech and FSU are ready to go at #17 & #18. I must disclose I really want FSU. Here is the problem, If UNC is not moving what does the B1G do? UVA and FSU would leave FSU as a geographic outlier, which seems to be working well for WVA and the BigXII? Would they choose a combination of UVA and GaTech, which would again lower the level of competion? Now lets assume the B1G brings in all 4, who is 19 and 20? I would go with ND and BC, and if ND wont move again I would go with Mizzou and Vandy. I guess I bring this up after looking at the poll put up by IA State Huskr where there was a lot of support for Kansas. I just don't get it, sure NU vs KU went on for a very long time, but what was so compelling about it? Once in a while their bad football team beat NU, and once in a while NU's bad basketball team beat KU. I enjoyed the Mizzou rivalry much more, even when Mizzou was down playing at their place was never easy. I have a modest understanding of markets, and realize the brand that is KU basketball but could that deliver anything more than KC? Where Mizzou has the potential to deliver KC and StL. Haven't looked into the B1G Network carriage in StL, they may already have it. I guess I really don't want any Big8 teams moving with NU to the B1G. After all they are the ones who let TX run the BigXII. I wouldn't mind seeing them rot on the vine.
  18. That show does a good job covering recruiting.
  19. This is a tough one... Obviously, I'm sure we're going to be in on some very talented RB's this cycle. I doubt we'll take 2 again this year. But, I really don't think we can let this kid get out of the state either... unless there is a crazy small class I think 2 rb's is a must. Then, sadly, watch someone transfer.
  20. that's right he signed during the early JUCO period.
  21. I cant imagine how he could get enrolled at NU for the spring semester. I cant imagine why OU wouldn't take him in the summer. That said, why hasn't he signed a LOI?
  22. I thought the only conferences with a GOR were B1G, PAC-12, and only recently the BIGXII. The BigEast and ACC have had an exit fee instead of the GOR, and the SEC has no agreement at all largely due to them believing they are the greatest conference in the world. If I am wrong please correct me.
  23. What... the..... F&(#....... Funny, that would be a huge jump for a football program to make D3 to D1. They did finish the year ranked #12 in D3. University of Chicago has only D3 programs.
  24. If Kansas (or whomever) decides to move a deal will be made. The Big 12 isn't going to leave money on the table just to spite a school who wants out. They'll arrange to return the rights for some percentage of the paper value of the media rights. They're not going to turn down cash in the tens of millions just to sit on rights that no longer have much value to them. These are business decisions & pragmatism (usually) rules the day. This refers to the Big12 now having a "grant of rights for 15 years". I am not sure on the years. According to a contract like this the Big12 would still retain the rights to all Kansas home games, and Kansas b-ball has value. So the Big12 having the rights to B1G games would be complicated. To my knowledge no one has tried to leave a conference after signing a "grant of rights". I believe the legal battle would be much more difficult than arguing about an exit fee, where a precident has been set. Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, just an idiot who has tried to inform himself. Newest rumor: B1G adding John Hopkins Univestity, one of the top academic institutions who also would get the B1G to 6 lacrosse teams, enough to have their own conference and more live programing for the BTN.
