  1. I have little doubt that we would have had a FSU v Alabama national championship game if we were still under the old system. This is perfect.
  2. Were both Mississippi schools ranked #1 at some point this year as well? All of the teams that have lost the last couple of days spent most of their year in the top 10. The real loser in the whole thing is TCU.
  3. Anyone thinking about getting a Buick after seeing these commercials 1,000 times?

  4. That QB made plays that very few are capable of. He is special and fits that offense. Really no different than saying, Peyton Manning can do it, so we should run that offense.
  5. Last 3 hires - Solich 18 year assistant an significant role in 3 national championships Cally One year removed from coaching in the Super Bowl Bolini Came to Lincoln late because he was busy coordinating a defense to a national championship. "Splash hire" is like a unicorn or perfect woman. There is no such thing.
  6. Can someone start a thread that allows everyone that thinks MR's hiring and staff are awful and we are doomed can chime in? That way in the fall, it can be revisited and they can either say "I told you so" or try to come up with some sort of story about how "anyone could coach Bo's players and the real story will be in 3-4 years". The WAMBULANCE is getting full.
  7. I really wasn't making a point of whether or not they played anymore. They left as minimal contributors and are still minimal contributors at inferior programs. Carnes plays quite a bit, the others get 2-5 touches a game. Carnes stats are horrid by the way.
  8. He's already indicated in several interviews that he has run multiple offenses in his career and the key is running an offense they fits the personnel. Obviously you won't know until the spring, but I doubt we go down the same road as Cally trying to turn Joe Daily into Rich Gannon.
  9. You never know. Green made the right call...good for him. Here's a list of people you've never heard from again. Feel free to add. Braylon Heard Brion Carnes King Frazier Cody Green - I know he started at Tulsa, but his play there was similiar to here. Also, don't leave out the fact that Ole Miss is garbage. This was my high point confidence game in the Bowl pick em.
  10. Is there such thing as a 'sure thing' hire? There are so many variables that into someone being successful. Urban Meyer - He bailed on Florida and no one will convince me otherwise. Brilliant move on his part as he maintained his status as a guru. I think he will be normalized as the conference gets better. As much as I dislike Meyer, they guy is on his 3rd string QB and still performing at a high level. Brian Kelly - I was for sure he was the man as I have followed him since his D2 days at Grand Valley State. He has won everywhere he has been. Jimbo Fischer - How many even heard of him before he came in as a coordinator (coach in waiting) at FSU? Bob Stoops/Les Miles - Both have had rough patches in their tenure. Same people grumbling about Riley wanted Mark Reicht...really? I'm still of the opinion that the Majority of the SEC out athletes everyone and the return of the decent team with better coaching and discipline is coming. I hope JH turns it around because it is better for the conference, but I'm not handing him the conference championship because he turned around Standford and had early success with the Niners.
  11. Have a family friend with a boy on the team that says he's pretty good when cameras and mics are on. Doesn't really have anything to do with him as a player. What I rarely see him get credit for is his blocking. He's an animal on the edge.
  12. I said this yesterday in another thread and got torched. I agree 100%. He needs another year. I can't blame him though. If he really is a top pick, then he should go. I thought there was a rookie cap starting this year, but I really don't know how that impacts him.
  13. What kind of money are they going to have for the rest of the program? Michigan pushed all the chips to the center of the table.
  14. Yeah he's a real scrub......... I mean really? He's a good player. Has a ton of ability and potential. I think his motor is unmatched. Like I said previuously, he never gives up on a play. That being said, that video was two years of highlights. I bet someone could put together a similar one for Trevor Roach. Didn't see much more from him this year than we saw from the caveman.
  15. Depends on what huskerboard thread you read.
  16. What evidence is there to support that the defensive line is good now, or ever has been strong? Probably the biggest group of under achievers on the team. I'm so tired of hearing how great Randy Gregory is. He did very little to stand out on the field. How so many of you let Mel Kiper tell you how good someone is playing is beyond me. I think Gregory should come back, but if he doesn't I don't think it's a huge loss. He never quits on a play, but he has a long way to go.
  17. I disagree. More often than not he hurries and doesn't set his feet. I think TA has a ton of upside.
  18. our DB's have never seen a kid like Kessler...i am afraid he will light it up for 300 yards passing or more.We have good DBs, but if there is no pass rush they will be the ones that look bad.
  19. This thread is full of the kind of football insight that really says Nebraska fans are the best, most knowledgeble fans ever.
  20. People will stop kicking to DPE eventually. Hasn't happened yet. I hope it continues.
  21. Offense - Has to get yards 4-5 yards on first down. Can't spend a ton of time on the field because of o line depth. Defense - Have to pressure the QB. Hopefully Paps stays away from the 4 DL standing at the line Special Teams Brown needs to earn his scholy. I doubt they punt to DPE, so they will need to figure something out. General (Obvious) Pelini teams have always lost the field position game. No stupid penalties(false starts or PFs at the worst times) Turnovers
  22. I investigated further. I can't confirm this, but it was on football scoop so I believe it. The job was actually posted on farmersonly.com. Bo was just checking it out and fell in love instantly. After a few saucy emails they began their courtship and he became coach.
  23. Is that Bo's cousin? He probably likes football too.
