  1. I'll never understand the outsiders taking shots at Husker Nation's penchant to attend football events. "There's nothing better to do in Nebraska! LOL" It sounds like such a material statement. As if you need certain things in order to have fun. Give me some good, salt-of-the-earth people with similar interests and it doesn't matter what we do. We just happen to bond over our team. Haters gonna hate, I guess. GBR

My life in Chicago is vastly different and much more full of new experiences than my life in Columbus/Rising City/Wayne/Lincoln was.

      But, it's still lame stereotyping.

Yeah, there's nothing better to do in Nebraska, except, you know, the CWS

Dito to what LL said, excepr in Detroit and Michigan. I love Lincoln, it will always be home, but there isn't a whole lot going on all the time...

  2. You guys will argue about almost anything. FFS
  3. I have no idea...usually I can get pretty close with most Power 5 schools...but I couldn't tell you a single thing about mizzery... Right? It's Barry Odom by the way.Who? You mean to tell me you don't recognize this coaching icon?
  4. Does anyone else on Huskerboard share my belief that the Sun is the most important thing in all of our lives? That the Sun is God? It's the one thing that is 100% consistent in this world. It has risen every morning and set every evening since the dawn of man. What other entity in your life can you think of that is as powerful, consistent, and vital as the Sun's light, warmth, and gravitational pull? I could delve so much deeper into why I feel this way, but I'm looking for others on this board who share this belief. I suppose I would also welcome those of you who think that this is ridiculous to share your opinions as to why that is. I'm not saying I'm 100% correct. That's sort of the entire basis of my beliefs. I'm agnostic by nature. I don't believe anything without some sort of proof. I'm just curious if anyone out there shares my opinions on this crazy thing we call life. Here is an example of why I feel the way I do about the Sun/religion.
  5. I wouldn't mind if they a Herbie on the helmet in the style of Boise's helmet. Someone already did a design of what that would look like. (not sure who, just found on google image search) Make the Herbie outline red and the helmet white. PUt jersey number on the other side and a red facemask, BAM!Or make the facemask look like corn kernels Or put "kick me" signs on the backs of all the jerseys while we're at it.
  6. The last two alternates have been my favorites by far. Here's hoping they don't stray too far from these designs. The only other option I'd be open to is the retro/modified classic uniforms like we did in 2009 for the 300th sellout. Also, you guys need to really stop trying to make the corncob or the leather-looking helmet happen. It's not going to happen.
  7. I have no idea...usually I can get pretty close with most Power 5 schools...but I couldn't tell you a single thing about mizzery... Right? It's Barry Odom by the way.
  8. Without looking, who is Missouri's head coach? I honestly have no clue and I follow CFB pretty closely. Nobody ever talks about Mizzou. It's astounding, actually, given their new SEC home.
  9. I'm far more concerned about their lack of discretion than their decision to get high. Could be doing faaaaaar worse things with his free time. Such as actual drugs, beating women, or driving under the influence. Sounds like KJJ just solidified that redshirt.
  10. Since the end of 2016, we have upgraded to a top-flight defensive coordinator (and are paying him handsomely), switched to a defense that better fits our bevy of linebackers, and also picked up Donte Williams, who has been recruiting like a madman since he arrived. Not to mention we now have a QB that not only fits Riley's system, but also had a year to redshirt and develop chemistry with teammates like JD Spielman. That doesn't sound like a team on the decline to me. That sounds like a team making moves to get better.
  11. Thorson is a stud. Might be the best qb in the big ten. If Lee is as good as him we win 10 games Maybe the best in the division, sure, but again, that's because we haven't seen Tanner play yet. Wisconsin's Hornibrook is average. Iowa has two, neither of which have played well enough to win the job yet. Illinois isn't trotting out anyone special. Minnesota is an unknown with Leidner leaving and a new staff. Hell, I'd put Purdue's David Blough right there with Thorson.
  12. Damn. Kid hasn't even started high school yet. Williams must feel pretty good about him.
  13. I can't prove that Tanner Lee will have a better season than Clayton Thorson... ...I just know it's true.
  14. Yeah... ...we are NOT leaving Adidas anytime soon.
  15. I'm not surprised with the over on Nebraska. I am surprised they took the over on Northwestern's 7.
  16. Gebbia provides tremendous optimism for Husker fans moving forward. It's been said over and over, but, statistics aside, his performance in the Spring Game was eye-opening. He enrolled early, has been nose deep in the playbook, and looked nothing like a true freshman in that scrimmage. Tosh Lupoi at Alabama recruited him. Chris Peterson at Washington offered. That's 2 College Football Playoff teams right there. He also received offers from Mike Leach, Hugh Freeze, Bobby Petrino, Mark Richt, and Dana Holgorsen. Like them or not, those guys know good QBs. It seems to me like this article is just the tip of the Tristan Gebbia iceberg. I think he's going to leave a legacy at Nebraska.
