  1. Become a psuedo Tulsa fan after going with a friend there on a recruiting visit. I've seen a lot of their games this year and I sure hope no one still thinks Green should've started over Martinez. He is just not very good.

  2. From Minnesota? That's funny. Wide receiver from USC. I think you're thinking of Marquise Gray. I would also agree that Lee deserves it more than Te'o.
  3. They're all California gals, aren't they? Yeah but you have to be extremely smart to get into Stanford. With UCLA, you get the hot-but-no-so-bright girls as well as smart ones. Stanford. Marry for the money
  4. Not to start a tissy, but comparing him to two walk on guys, especialy Cassidy, is an insult to Gerry. He is leagues ahead of them athletically, especially Cassidy, along with having more size. I know football is much more than being a good athlete, but I feel people are failing to comprehend that Gerry is the best pure athlete in this class, if not in the entire country.
  5. And.....? And? I think it's fairly obviously. We're actively recruiting another Micah Kriekmeyer...a 5 year bench warming wasted scholarship. That's one reason why kids attend camps and combines to see how they measure up to other kids. In this case it was the other kids that were trying to measure up to Gerry. Nathan was the MVP of the Nebraska Under Armour camp. Showed his explosiveness by hitting 10-7 in the broadjump and 33" for vertical. Explosive athlete. Runs a 10.7 100. 205 lbs & strong. That's good in any state. Those are great numbers for guys in the NFL. If Gerry were in a bigger state, regardless of how his film was, he would be a four or five star on potential alone.
  6. I know the heisman has been a joke for a while, but if Manziel doesn't win it loses any and all credibility in my mind.

It's never been credible. Jim Brown and John Majors both lost to Paul Hornung who played on a 2-8 Notre Dame team.

As much as I like Te'o as a person and player, I will be especially disgusted if he wins. If Suh couldn't win then no defensive player should. Might just be a perfect storm for Manti this year though.

Hope is not all lost; RG3 won it last year. Occasionally there is justice

  7. You're kidding right? You must have watched another game then. Gardner did just fine given his lack of playing time this year and given the magnitude of this game. He more than held his own coming off the bench at the end of the season in what was without a doubt Michigan's biggest game of the entire year. 11 for 20 passing with one TD and one INT and two fumbles lost is "just fine"? Do you give Martinez the same leniency? 15-25 214 yds 1 td 3 int. That's Taylor's stat line against OSU in his third season as a starter. Today was Gardner's fourth start of the season. Don't get me wrong, I love Taylor, but your argument is invalid.
  8. Not I. I saw us going about 3-3 as well. We were awful close to having that happen but I'm sure glad it didn't.
  9. Whaley was a very big part of the win today and deserves a lot of respect. The guy is testament to selling out for a team and sticking it out through the tough times. It's too bad he wasn't born about 20 years ago. He's very good at stuffing the run in the more traditional I and one back sets.
  10. Involved in a pretty good discussion on the highschool boards regarding the state championships and Memorial. Anyone know why/if they are moving them, and if so where they are going to be in future?

Was gonna start a thread about this. Boss's best friend's son is a manager or something with the football team. Told'em it has something to do with the NCAA and cracking down on state championships being held at college football facilities for possible creating unfair recruiting advantages. LOL. Cuz Nebraska is so loaded with 5-star talent that it so unfair to the likes of Bama and Texas that our high school players get to play state championship games at Memorial Stadium.

Ya it's pretty ridiculous. And it's not like the instate kids don't already want to play for Hometown U anyway.

I know the Shrine Bowl had to be moved, now going to be at Cope Stadium at UNK.

  11. Just read another article about Gerry, and apparently the Iowa staff's sell was painting him as the next Greenway.
  12. After seeing his film I think this kid is going to be the star of this class. He's a bit raw, but a tremendous athlete with a great frame. Reminds me a lot of another South Dakota kid named Chad Greenway.
  13. For those watching arkansas vs lsu, there was one second remaining when Wilson's pass landed out of bounds. Not even a comment was made about it. Texas would've gotten that second back.

Maybe they're not crybabies/own the league.

  14. Beck bashers need to settle. It was 3rd and 4 and the receiver was open. Not to mention it's not like we've been gashing them in the run game.
  15. So we're going to get a penalty for an illegal forward pass after a review? Why is it that no other penalties are reviewable? BS
  16. As horrible as we've played, we're going in at half down by only 4. Get it figured out coaching staff.
  17. I watched every high school state championship this past week, and there were class C and D kids who fielding punts surrounded by multiple guys. It is absolutely mind blowing how D1 athletes cannot do something so simple. If I never saw Abdullah return another punt I would be very happy. Dude cannot protect the ball.
  18. Niles Paul is a demon on special teams.
