My mom voted all Republican until 2004 and voted for John Kerry, not a great candidate, because she didn't like Bush anymore. And now gradually over time she has started to vote for more and more Democrats. In 2000 she was 53. That said, I don't think many Trump voters in 2020 would change their vote over anything that has happened since.

Assuming the U.S. doesn't lose its form of government to dictatorship, it's unlikely one party holds power that long. If the Republicans hold the presidency and the Senate for 8-12 years, people will realize it didn't make things much better (and probably a lot worse), and then they will vote them out. Some of the currently conservative states will swing to moderate, and moderate states to left. Whoever is in charge gets judged, even for things that aren't really their fault. The electoral college is currently unfavorable to Democrats, so they need to work on changing people's minds. They should have been working harder on that the past 30 years, and now they have a big hole to dig themselves out of.

I said pick stuff up. Pretty sure that's what most people do. The cleaning people do the scrubbing and vacuuming and dusting, not pick up stuff you left laying around in random places since the last time they were at the house. I would add, as much as money does buy championships (or helps to get them), that has always been the case with college football. It was just less direct. The teams with money had more and better facilities, food, clothing, tutoring, etc., that they could offer the players. The programs with $ did everything they could except give the players cash. Cash is a step up from that, but it's not like the playing field was even. And in fact, I would say in college football things were more lopsided than in the NFL. It just didn't involve player salaries.
