  1. yeah - i'll go with his. hate Texas all you want Nebraska fans - but you aren't going to convince many outside of your little click that jerry world isn't the best venue in the nation for a game like this. you don't spend $1.2 billion or whatever he spent and end up with a Wal-Mart. Typical Nub-fan response to anything Texas. I've already stated in this thread that I don't think college football should be played in a dome. I don't give a crap that it's in Texas. I mentioned Wal-mart because it's the biggest company and devoid of culture and a good atmosphere. It didn't have anything to do with the niceness or fanciness of the place. When I watch a college football game I want it to feel like a college football game. I don't want it to feel clean and sparkly with no weather. All bowl games are outdoors (except Sugar Bowl? I could be wrong) and that's how I like it. This is obviously just my opinion on the matter and I'm sure lots of people don't care about any of that. I just went through the posts in the topic and there is maybe one person who is sort of saying they don't want it in Texas because they don't like Texas, so you're apparently talking to me with this post and you just put all of those words in my mouth. None of those are my thoughts on the matter.
  2. OU was missing most of their play makers in that game. It was a nice win, but if OU was at full strength, then that would have likely been another double digit loss. It's no different than if I were to say Nebraska would have beaten OU in the 2010 conference championship game except for injuries. That game was basically decided on the sheer fact that Nebraska couldn't move the ball down field in the 2nd half and wasn't able to get the best FG kicker in the game a shot at a couple 50 yard fieldgoals. One of the big reasons for that is that Nebraska's one big threat WR that year was injured for that game. You know why noone ever brings that up? because it doesn't matter. We lost, they won. End of story. But you can't make a stupid strawman argument that if certain teams had such and such players one year they win and then totally discount other games Nebraska has lost if we also don't have injuries. - IE the Northwestern game last year would apply here too. This a a stupid argument to make. Really stupid. Injuries happen they don't change what happened in a game. Wins are wins, Losses are losses. Period. Looking at them any other way makes you look foolish. I also bet AF would have some reason as to why they shouldn't have beat OU in '01.... If Frank Costa hadn't been hurt (because our players beat the crap out of him) he wouldn't have missed that guy who was 15 yards away from the nearest cornerback and Miami would have tied the game and we wouldn't have won the national championship, so Tom Osborne isn't as good as we think he is. In fact, we shouldn't have won in '97 either, for obvious reasons. So, he basically only won one NC.
  3. I've been watching too much Lost
  4. It's the Walmart of stadiums. As in, no college football atmosphere or culture. So if Walmart is your favorite store, then sure, Cowboys Stadium is the top venue in the nation. I don't even like the damn sound of the crowd during games there. It has this eerie echoey freakish quality about it.
  5. And if you get tired of West Hollywood, may I suggest the Castro District up north in SF. I was waiting for someone to say something. But... I actually like West Hollywood so I said nothing.
  6. Calvin Jones and Derek Brown are the first RBs I remember watching
  7. I'd forgotten what it was like to not have the score up on the screen all the time. It's kinda crazy that it took them so long to think of doing that. But maybe they thought more people would stay on the channel because they'd have to wait for the score to appear.
  8. Only 45? See, he's not that bad of a guy. 93.75% bad
  9. I realize there are reasons to hold off on offers (not knowing if he's the best guy you can get, obviously), but does anyone else think it's a good tactic to waste a bunch of other teams' time? They KNOW this kid is theirs so they wait until November to make Nebraska (or whoever) think they might have him and so Nebraska can't go after some other players quite as hard as they would have.
  10. My perception is backed up by stats. What is yours backed up with? Of do you igonre the stats from games that don't back up your perception? If that is the case then that is fine, I will just have to take your opinions as those who are based on all emotion and not facts. Let me use your "stats": If Taylor Martinez wasn't hurt, we would have beaten OU by 21+ points. I'm just speaking the truth. and Texas A&M. So, going by AFHusker's logic, we would have been in a BCS bowl that year with one loss. But let's just focus on the games we should have lost and pay no attention to the games we should have won, using his "stats," because being positive is against the rules.
  11. Please, quit trying to distract us from being angsty
  12. I'm not feeling very creative now, so SOMEONE make a topic called Tertiary Questions then write funny things in there about the least important Husker related things you can think of. I nominate The Dude. Thank you for your consideration.
  13. I'm still trying to figure out whether I can afford to go to the UCLA game. The tickets themselves are pretty cheap though
  14. wtf are you talking about? What does my being female matter? You can say whatever you want to me and so can anyone else. I've never complained about anything anyone on here has said to me, which is what you seem to implying by saying I'm hiding behind being a woman. I have no idea where you pulled that from. This is the first time anyone has ever mentioned my being a woman in response to one of my posts, so you're obviously the only one who has a problem. What's a woman? A person who's too delicate to be called names

  16. I hope it wasn't the psychologist who screwed up the grammar.
  17. No, I'm afraid you're the one who isn't very bright, but that's been apparent for awhile now. Please tell me who said we beat a national title contender, because I'm not seeing that. We're not talking about a win over a top 5 team that suddenly lost their quarterback. We beat a 5-3 team who was #20 at the time and hadn't had their quarterback since the 3rd game (and who, by the way, lost their first game with said quarterback). You're an idiot if you automatically assume that just because people are proud of that win, they're remembering wrong and thinking Oklahoma was an excellent team that year. But there is nothing wrong with being proud of that win, regardless. Now, if you had actually worded your original reply better and stated that you were comparing the 2009 Oklahoma team to the 2008 team, then you might get a bit more slack. But you didn't. And even if you had, your point wouldn't have been well made. 2008: Missouri 52, Nebraska 17. Oklahoma 62, Nebraska 28. 2009: Nebraska 27, Missouri 12. Nebraska 10, Oklahoma 3. There is no way in hell that Nebraska would have lost by 34 points even if they'd had Bradford. If Oklahoma had won, say, 24-10, it still would prove the point that the original poster made, that Nebraska improved a great deal in Pelini's second consecutive year in the same conference.
  18. I watched one cartoon on it and now 90% of my recommended viewing on Netflix is cartoons. No, I don't want to watch Dora the Explorer. She's got nothing on Shaun the Sheep.
  19. He's making one of, if not the, biggest decisions in his life. We get upset when players don't at least come to look at Lincoln and our facilities so they can make an informed decision (rather than keeping that stereotypical view of Nebraska in their heads and not bothering to make the trip out). We shouldn't be surprised that recruits want to at least go and look at the other options as well. It means he's smart, imo.
  20. I don't see anything different than what was announced yesterday
