  1. I found this part amusing: "They lost three conference games -- at Michigan and at Wisconsin in spectacular blow-outs and vs. Northwestern in game that even Brady Hoke couldn't believe happened. Other than that they had the singular highlight of clobbering Michigan State." Alright, I realize Iowa went 7-6 last year, but it amuses me that our win against them was left out, since they beat Michigan
  2. You idiots ruined a perfectly good and thoughtful thread with your squabbling.
  3. If I could rep you 3,000,000 X pajillion times I would. And now I have an excuse to post the full video. Heisman pose at 4:45. There, I related it to this awesome topic.
  4. I seriously doubt there's any significant difference in under-graduate engineering teaching between any big universities. Just because he's from "Michigan" doesn't mean he knows more basic mathematical formulas and/or chemical/electrical/mechanical/etc theory. Of course you're right that he's had a fine and rigorous education but attending "Michigan" is not the deciding issue at all. His major is. Wow, you read way more into that than you should have. I highly doubt Blue wrote the "from UM" to imply that it's better than an engineering degree from somewhere else. It just happened to be part of his sentence. Obviously the engineering part was the key word.
  5. The writing was annoying but it was fairly in line with my thoughts. Except... "None of the Huskers receivers were that good last season, and it's pretty safe to say they won't be unearthing any new talent this fall." I have hope that they'll be surprising some people. I think our WRs have a lot of potential as long as Kinnie hasn't passed on the disease that Paul gave him.
  6. What about italics or underlining?
  7. I'll do it if you promise to come to my funeral when I fall after getting the picture. I'm guessing that climbing down is harder than climbing up. Only if I can sing the song Dust in the Wind by American progressive rock band Kansas. I would prefer that

  9. HuskerBoard isn't the site I'd expect to see these kinds of shoes. It was a pretty odd place to be advertising them. Maybe they do random searches and saw that one of our focuses is on clothing I think foci is the plural for focus, but that just sounds so uppity.
  10. Sorry, but no. He did not simply say he hopes Nebraska starts recruiting more able passers. "i hope this staff picks qbs in the future that have demonstrated they can play the position and throw the ball......remember, NU was the only shcool willing to recruit him as a qb......." This quote comes directly after him saying that Martinez should have camped last year. I don't disagree with that, but he's saying that Martinez can't play the position, can't throw the ball, and he's implying that Martinez shouldn't have been recruited by us as a QB. The fact that we think that's a bunch of B.S. doesn't make us "so adamant about defending Taylor that you completely jump all over any comment." Just the idiotic comments. And in case anyone forgot, this is in a topic called "Martinez QB Camp Update." This isn't some random recruiting topic where the comment you pretend he "simply" made would have been completely different.
  11. How about stupidity/ignorance. Though I suppose if we were all stupid and ignorant we might get along better. I actually think the "division" is more of a media-manufactured thing. Or at least it's exaggerated by the media. There are always going to be crazy opposing factions but I like to think the middle 80% of humans is normal.
  12. Agreed on everything (well, less so on MSU... unless we drop one to a Northwestern-type team again and they win the division over us that way). Still hard for me to see us beating both Ohio State and Michigan. Not because they are THAT much better than Nebraska, but because they have mobile QBs. For that same reason, I'm very confident that we'll beat Wisconsin, even if nothing at all has changed for them besides the QB. I'm pretty supportive of Bo in general but I really think he's thick-skulled about dealing with mobile QBs. What he's done against them has failed over and over again and he's failed over and over again to change his philosophy. At least, that's the way it seems. I hope this year something will change.
  13. Most teams play at least 4 completely crappy teams during the season. How hard is it to predict a win over the South Dakota States of the world? (Incidentally, I did the math. Their accuracy not including the 4 crap teams Nebraska plays every year is 70%, which is still pretty good) That means they'll incorrectly predict 2.4 games. Those will be the UCLA loss and the Michigan State/Penn State loss and the Minnesota win. (I picked Minnesota because I don't see us losing to Northwestern twice in a row, but we still need to have our one loss to a team we should have easily beat)
  14. Well with Wisconsin getting O'Brian who knows, i bet he gets them an extra win or two that they wouldn't have had I am actually just looking him up for the first time right now. Are we really supposed to expect them to be most likely in the B1G to win a national championship with a guy who was on a 2-10 team last year, passed for 56% and ran for 57 yards? Maybe I'm missing something. I know he's not entirely to blame for going 2-10 and maybe that makes him even better, because he did alright on a crappy team... but Wilson could run the ball. I think it will be night and day.
  15. The only option is Michigan, IMHO, and I'm not saying that's super realistic either. The idea of Michigan State or Wisconsin going makes me laugh.
  16. Yes, me too. This Martinez guy has just been terrible for us. I sure hope they never take such a huge risk on anyone again because it clearly never works out.
  17. There are so many things wrong with this that I'm not going to bother replying further. As far as the OP, what kind of tea are you drinking? Is it just plain brewed tea or a store bought mix-thing? One general tip I have is to drop one addiction (food or drink) at a time. That worked for me. I moved from soda to black tea, from black tea to green tea (half the caffeine), then to no tea at all. Then I got rid of juice and now I only drink water. I want to second/third what's been said about cereal. If you want more fiber the peas are good and try to think of foods that you like with beans in them. Berries are good too.
  18. Without the two of you around, I would have trouble sleeping at night. Thank you for your service.
  19. I'm going to assume you meant to add "for me" From what I've heard, Weight Watchers focuses on calories with no regard for macro or micronutrients
  20. and you know all this to be a fact? Carl actually said much the same in some of the Fall practice interviews (the one The Dude posted is from April 2011, so I know it was said more than once). I'm not going to look them up and find the quotes, but I distinctly remember him talking in August about how he used to be solely in charge of the defensive line and now he was going to have more input into the entire defense than ever before. I was under the impression that this was because Bo was spending more time with Beck and the offense. Maybe it's just wishful thinking but I'm hoping that was at least a part of the reason things weren't great last year and that Bo won't need to spend as much time with the offense this year. Edit: It also might have been one of the defensive line players that mentioned the part about him working more on the overall defense instead of focusing on the DL. I realize this doesn't sound concrete but if it helps, I rarely ever post "I remember hearing in an interview but I don't remember when/what it was." But I'm sure about this one
  21. I think 3:00 is an example of a time he would have scored a TD in his freshman year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0p_HqSfT-M But I also see merit in him having a year where he learned that the offense doesn't have to rely on his ability to make a big play. If he can combine the two... his ability to make the big play and the knowledge that he doesn't have to make miraculous plays (that often wind up as interceptions or keeping the ball when he should hand it off) he will be great.
  22. That's enough. This is dangerously close to a personal attack. If you want to talk about each other, take it to the Woodshed. Guess I needed the j/k attached to it with a sarcasm tag. I joke around like this with my brother, my sister, and my best friends. :/ sorry if I offended anyone. You joke around with your sister about your sack. How... lucky she must feel. (I don't think the sarcasm tag would have helped)
