  1. Sure, he makes yards, but his explosive 20+ yard runs have been dwindling (His last 20+ yard run by the stats I see on Huskers.com looks to have been a 28 yarder against Wash). Why have they dwindled? Defensive schemes? Play-calling? Frankly, I think Beck has shifted the offense to lean far less on T-Mart needing to make 20+ yard runs to be successful. I think that is good. I think it protects/rests NU's D. T-Mart is still a running threat sure, but the nature of his threat has changed. What makes T-Mart intriguing, like D Rob at Mich, is that feeling he can take it to the house from 50 yards. But game play is showing that he is far less of a potential threat to do that lately. Here's hoping he goes 65 yards tomorrow. They're protecting him. We don't need him to have a huge play every series anymore, so it's best to be safe and not risk injury. IMO, he's not less of a threat now than last year. He just doesn't run it as often.
  2. That annoyed me too. If we'd lost by 7 points or less, fine. But the game was more of a blow out than it looked, IMO.
  3. Are you aware that there's an edit button on posts? You don't have to make four replies in a row.
  4. He's shown it to us. But last weekend was the first time he made a lot of plays in one game this year. It's sort of like how Suh fell under the radar. People knew who he was but they weren't awed by him. We knew he was great from watching him every game. It just took everyone else longer to find out. He also had a great game to end the regular season. If people keep throwing to Dennard he'll get more attention.
  5. I'm not sure why everyone keeps bringing up Rex. They have no real reason to be upset about that. It's the fact that they might not start a game in their entire college careers because there are three of them.
  6. I remember looking at all of the schedules in '01 and figuring out who had to lose to who, and I watched all of them.
  7. I've been wondering for ages why wide receivers point to the sideline. Thanks =P
  8. It's a hell of a lot easier to get up for a team that has had a lot of success recently than to get up for a team with a recent loss. So I'm not buying the psychology argument. Both teams will have about the same benefit if Michigan keeps winning. If they lose, I actually think they have the advantage. They'll have a ranked team coming in and want to avenge the recent loss. Also, it's just what I prefer. If there's a 6-5 team and a 10-1 team and we have to play them both, I will always want the 10-1 team to win. It makes for a more exciting match up in my opinion. Similarly, I always want teams to be undefeated when we play them when possible. If Nebraska had 2 losses in conference, that is the only circumstance where I would want Michigan to lose.
  9. Agreed. But if not Wisconsin it will be a team we've already played. I think Ohio State would be the hardest to beat again though.
  10. does anyone ever feel like all of the football players are in competition with each other during October to prove which of them likes boobs more? I think Dennard won this game. He had a pink sleeve.
  11. Yes it's possible. It's college football. See 2001. It's just highly unlikely. But I don't agree with all of the teams you picked that have to lose twice. The SEC teams have to lose twice. The others may not.
  12. Pretty much every post game analysis I watched of the game could be summarized as this: What was wrong with Michigan State's offense? I suppose part of it might have possibly had something to do with Nebraska's defense, but...
  13. To put it as simply as I can: Taylor Martinez IS OUR QB, he has a lot of growing up to do, a lot to learn. BUTTTTTT...it is what it is...we have to learn to love and live with who he really is and what he might become just like we all hope he will get there by trying to live up to what Nebraska Football means to us all. As much I love watching the Huskers win, and am willing to keep watching even when they dont...Being a Cornhusker isnt just about making the team, going to UNL, or(gasp) winning, its about making sure that IF YOU DO FAIL ITS NOT BECAUSE YOU DIDNT BRING EVERYTHING YOU COULD, you just plain got beat. Husker Football to me, and I wish NCAA in general should be about teaching young people how to become great people, or at least the best they could hope to be. Thats why I love our culture, our tradition. Holy crap, that was a really long post which had almost nothing to do with the thing you were replying to. I ate 5 figs today.
  14. I was perfectly fine with Martinez staying in the game. An injured Burkhead, not so much. We have a lot of good running backs.
  15. The announcers said he came in for a play late in the game
  16. Why can't we ever leave a half without a turnover in the last 5 minutes? Learn to be happy with your lead and run the ball. Quit throwing the ball from the pocket so much. But the D is playing great, so I'm happy overall.
  17. I wonder what kind of knee injury it is. I suppose if his status was "unlikely" it must not be too terrible.
