  1. I signed up for the text alerts that alerts me for every nebraska program on the BTN. Saves me from having to remember. Also, I put it onmy TIVO season pass so even if I do forget, it will remember.
  2. I went to the local bookstore and the cover was the guy from the SEC in the middle and Crick was to his left. You would think that in Ohio the big 10 player would be front and center. Tomorrow I go to a different bookstore to try again. sigh,
  3. I had this real comfortable red Nebraska hoodie that I loved, however, the last 4 or 5 times I wore it on game day we lost. I wore it on the day we played tAM just to show that it wasn't jinxed. Needless to say I have gotten rid of it.
  4. Which conference will get the automatic BCS bid that the big 12 will no longer have when they are no longer? Any ideas? Maybe WAC and MW can combine to get it. That would make my Wyoming alumi/fan of a husband happy.
  5. Let me tell you, Mich. Man, it's been real hard living the last 10 years here in Ohio as a Husker fan. The OSU fans are real crazy. I can totally see the throwing M. Clarett to the lions (and I don't mean the ones in Detroit, lol). Sad, real sad. To d that to a 19 year old. Where are the morals?
  6. I remember when all that went down. Makes me really feel sorry for the guy. Isn't he playing in Omaha now?
  7. I don't have exact numbers, but there is an article about how Ohio has cut state funding to various Universities. (In case you didn't know, Ohio is part of the "Rust Belt" and as such has been hit hard by the recession) Per the Dayton Daily News http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/ohio-news/colleges-spend-more-even-as-state-funding-levels-off-1139698.html
  8. Are we really just going to take his word? I want to see all 5 pairs.
  9. I live in Dayton Ohio and let me tell you, people here love the Dayton Flyers (A-10) basketball. They also have a non-scholarship lower division football team (Pioneer league) and even though Ohio State is 1 hour away, University of Cincinnati is 1 hour away and Miami of Ohio is 1 hour away people love the Flyers even in football.
  10. He wants to play division 1 college football, preferably at Nebraska. He is a 15 year old freshman at a small Nebraska High School (near Kearney). He has played football since 7th grade, no pop warner in his area. He's 5'11, 160 lbs. Runs track, plays basketball and baseball, all around good athlete. (He plays varsity Basketball too, going to state in Basketball this year, as they have the last few years) Hard worker, when we were home over Christmas was at the weight room every day for at least 2 hours (over break!!!!!) knows he needs to bulk up, and has worked with the football coach since in the 6th grade. Unfortunately his coach is leaving this year and that has him worried (coach had been able to in the past help players with scholarships to NE, KS, KState, UNK, Chadreon, etc.) I wouldn't know how to go about getting him sponsored into the camp, he does fund raising already for his team camp. Great kid, good grades, good athlete, good nephew.
  11. Yes he will be a sophomore this fall. I think my sister said that they would waive the deposit amount, so $100 off I think. He plays For a small town in Nebraska, Class D 8 man football. Was 6th in the state as a 6th grader in the punt pass kick, and where he lives there isn't Pee Wee football, he didn't play organized football until 7th grade. I think he's pretty good for a 15 year old, but I'm biased
  12. He doesn't do any solo camps, they do 2 team camps. He is pretty good, fast runner, good arm. As a freshman last year he played special teams on Varsity and returned 1 kick off and one punt for touchdowns. He was the back up quarter back and scored at least one TD per game. I keep trying to tell my sister that this is a great opportunity and baseball can go on without him for 3 days, even though he is the starting pitcher.
  13. My nephew who is a freshman in high school received a letter inviting to the elite quarterback camp at UNL. My sister isn't sure or not if he will go and I thought I'd ask all of you opinions as to whether or not he should. He also plays baseball, and does 2 other team football camps, so she was wondering if adding this other camp would be worthwhile. I told her that he would get looked at by the coaches, and since he wants to play div. 1 ball, preferably at UNL, this would be a good thing for him to do. What are your thoughts.
  14. Doesn't everybody have to start somewhere--I know, people usually start at lower level schools. I mean look at Dr. Tom's resume at the beginning of his coaching career, not too stellar.
  15. The Davinci Code lover in me sees this ans instantly thinks Watson and Cotton, the N had me scratching my head until I realized that it was just capitalized because it was the first word of a new sentence.
  16. The last Bo Michigan had as a coach was an Ohio man. But I don't think he's going anywhere, none the less.
  17. Let me say this. SMU may have been the only member of the SWC to get the death penalty, but in my opinion all the members of this conference were dirty in one way or another. Letting any of these schools into the Big 8 is what led to it's downfall. Texas(the state) thinks it can do whatever it wants. Mark my words as long as Texas(the state) has control of the reins the Big 12 will never be what it used to be when it was the Big 8.
  18. Here's a link to the video.Youngstown connection
  19. Gee, if I didn't know any better I would think this would be talking about none other than Dr. Tom Osborne. Maybe Taylor is the silent type we keep being nostalgic about. Not everyone is loud and vocal.
  20. This was debated ad nauseum in 1999. You start counting with 1, not 0, so this decade will not be over until Dec. 31, 2010. They did not call the first year year 0, but year 1. January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2010 is this decade.
  21. In my opinion there is no reason why we shouldn't be the highest ranked 2 loss team. Having Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and unbelievaly Missouri above us really gets my goat. A&M only rose 2 spots, probably because the pols knew they really didn't win the game they were given the game, so why do we fall 7 spots. Grrrrr.
