  1. And to be clear: service does include your demeanor with and around your customers.
  2. I am I: NEVER leaving a tip, yes, but I don't understand why sometimes not leaving a tip is such an issue. I don't always leave a tip and I have done the whole waitressing thing in my younger days. That's why I don't always leave a tip: people who provide crappy service give the rest of us a bad name. I won't reward them for that.
  3. I'm not happy with today's play, either and I don't want to be labeled a sunshine pumper BUT we lost by a crummy 8 points to a top 5 team. That's the facts. It's been a lousy season but it's not the hopeless quagmire that some of you make it out to be. There are glimmers of hope. What upsets me the most? Is that we could have won today, with this team. Once again, we took ourselves out of contention. So. Yea I'm upset but I'm also not pessimistic.
  4. Tommie seems like a good kid. If he could win by heart alone, he'd be one of the best. But his mechanics are shakey and I'm afraid that at this point in his career he may never be able to overcome them. Mike can choose to work with him or replace him. Will be interesting...
  5. Don't care. We've lost games that were effected by bad calls. It goes both ways. The win is official, it's ours and our boys earned it with every fiber of their beings.
  6. I read this and all I can do is smile. You've raised a heck of a kid. Be proud. 😊

  8. I can block people! Hurray! Why didn't I notice that sooner?

  9. You're right, of course, 74Hunter. Just got a little hot under the collar and spewed out a rant of my own. I'm just so sick of it today. It's everywhere: facebook, Twitter, here, of course. I kind of wish I could go back to the days before the internet when I really thought that Husker fans all followed the same code and similar mind-set. Delusional, I know..... Anyway,I let the trolls get to me. I'm gonna go for a walk and come back later.
  10. Okay, other than a few little posts and things I've been pretty quiet around here but enough is enough. I don't care who you are, how much you paid for your tickets or how long you've been a fan: you do NOT have the right to boo the team. It is low class and an embarassment to the rest of the fan base. Some of you make it sound like when you purchased your tickets, you believe that you also purchased the right to publicly bully the kids. You'd best read that fine print again because that's not included in the ticket. It's not included in decent moral adult human behavior. If you don't like what's going on with the team or on the field** then don't buy those tickets. Don't come to the game. THAT'S how you express your displeasure to the University. **Other than extremely bad calls by the refs. We have no particular allegiance to them. However, I will say, I have known some refs and they were darn fine people and they took a lot of crap from know-it-alls and rabid fans. Get a grip, folks!
  11. Damon Benning doesn't remember the exact words, but he swears that the words said by team recently is different than the one they said back then. Honestly, this is why I think it's weird the "fans" are trying to get the words right, and it's weird the "fans" are saying this prayer each week. It's a players thing. Let them own it. I don't think any fans actually *say* the players' prayer. It's a thread we've had on Husker gamedays here on HB for the past several years. Like any tradition anywhere, some people like it and participate. And some people don't. The players don't own the prayer. Just like they don't own the game itself. Fans are interested in these things. Or at least some are. Sorry, I just think it's weird. JMO. It's not a tradition to me, and I have been following the team for in some way since 1981. I realize that it's a more recent thing, so maybe that's why I don't see it as a tradition. Also, there were posters on here that said they were "saying the prayer" when it was played in the BYU Tunnel Walk. I said then, and I say it again now, I think it should belong to the players and kept in the locker room. I don't even think they players should have made it public. It's not that I am against prayer, I just think it's a players thing. Yes, we are fans, but we aren't players. EDIT: I will refrain for posting anything in any threads regarding the Husker Prayer. I am sure my opinions irk some people, and since the "prayer" is not my thing, I will just not comment on it, and leave my opinion to myself. I respectfully disagree. I taught that prayer to my boys. It hung on their walls. I wrote it out and sent it to my son when he was in basic training. When times were tough, it was, and still is our motto. It gave us a sense of unity and strength and belief that things would get better during some times that weren't very much fun.
  12. My officially licensed t-shirt says "stride".
  13. Don't like the all-whites. Or the all-reds either. They remind me of little boy pajamas. Also, anyone who picks all whites for a football uniform has never had to try to get them clean. As for shoes, in my happy imaginary world, offense would wear white shoes. They look fast. But defense would wear black. Makes them look solid, tougher, imo.
