  1. Armstrong throws screen to Tariq Allen for Touchdown within seconds of these comments. Haha! Brilliant. That play was snuffed out, got lucky with the missed tackle.Put your athletes in space and make them make a guy miss. That's the entire idea of an outside screen.Bill Callahan agrees with you.Bill Callahan ran a west coast offense, zero bubble screens. Langs runs a west coast but with the players we have he uses some spread principles (see zone read/bubble screens). Callahan has nothing to do with this offense or the players involved today. But keep it up, I like the laughsWhile I'll admit that I'm not an expert in the xs and os, I remember that Bill liked WE screens, and so do Mike and Danny. Callahan liked Rb screens, hence why marlin lucky was a top 3 receiver on the team.

  4. Urb and I would take Beck over Langs any day ya becks tearing it up huhHe coaches for the #1 team and coach in the nation. He must suck, eh? Another stupid screen pass.....got lucky. Yeah, give me beck over langs, all day long. haha amazing what a year removed from him does to people. I bet you always sang his praises while he was here
  5. 450k paid so that Gerry stands there waving his arms. Unbelievable
  6. This is coaching and talent. Offensively the coaches don't have the players they need to execute their comfort zone of an offense....see running qb as a prime example. Defensively it's coaching, pride yourself on stopping the run or pass first (see pelini's secondary success for reference). Then when you can do that, recruit to the weaknesses. What doomed pelini's was he couldn't be great at both because he couldn't get the running game stopped.
  7. Someone tell rod Gilmore that rose is a starter
  8. One thing you can't take away from pelini was his creativeness with the blitz. Garbage this year
  9. Not sure he qualifies as a general, maybe a private first class. Zero game experience.Coach's kid. Need decision making before play makingI'm sure he can command the receivers to start catching the ball...We need a change. Tommy has already missed too many check downs. He is staring down the primary. Youre right...then he's hitting them in the chest and they drop it. Can't fault him for that. When he checked down it was dropped...good insight though
  10. Some upper level exec at ESPN probably saw this thread on huskerboard and decided they needed to throw some shade on the SEC
  11. I learned that the odd guy standing next to Riley without a headset is Bruce Read and he makes $450k.
  12. the reason this stands out is because last year it was sell out to stop the pass...a lot of 2 deep safeties. This year it's corners on an island and one safety dropping to the box and one deep. If the qb moves the deep safety with his eyes, then you've got a one on one shot. Their qb made some very nice throws deep at the expense of Davie
  13. has anybody mentioned strength and conditioning as being the culprit yet? That was fun last year.
  14. Technically no offers are real until August of the athletes senior year when they get a written offer in the mail. Coaches verbally "offer" kids before their senior year to guage interest and get in the door.
  15. Jesus...knocking the old staff like they didn't hire any qualified GA's. fun fact: Barrett Ruud was an intern last year on the staff, I think he was well qualified for his role.
  16. 100% agree. I believe they could also go to the D league out of high school if they want to be paid and stay in the states.
  17. It's 100% accurate, room and board is part of the scholarship and paid no matter if the athlete lives on or off campus. Basically the extra 3,600 is fun money so the NCAA can say the athletes are paid. Once someone factors in the "20" hours a week the player can use outside of practice for film study, etc. we will see outcry that they are making less than minimum wage and this debate will start all over again.
