  1. Upon looking at weekend weather forecast on weather.com for Saturday 20% of rain, high of 71. I think the adjustment has more to do with the Michigan-Maryland game. Heavy rains are supposed to his the east coast due to a hurricane. The Michigan-Maryland game was moved up to Noon Eastern, and the BTN didn't want to worry about conflicting TV windows.
  2. It looks like the Big Ten has moved back the kickoff a half hour for this week's game. Mitch Sherman ‏@mitchsherman 2m2 minutes ago Weather adjustments: Nebraska-Illinois kickoff moved to 3:02 p.m. CT Saturday. Michigan-Maryland will kick at 11 a.m.
  3. If that is true, can we all agree that the season was not good? Hmmm, that is an interesting question. I know some fans are saying that they don't care what happens this season with wins/losses but we all know that is not true. I gotta think that no bowl game would = a really craptastic season, right? Riley & staff need to make a bowl game or I would think they would start next year pretty high on the hotseat list. Was Clownahan on the hotseat after the dumpster fire known as the 04' season? There were a LOT of disgruntled fans after the '04 season. Pedeyshine was tied to BC, so he wasn't going to fire him after 1 year. BC did show "progress" by going 8-4 in '05.
  4. NFL teams draft on potential more than they do college performance. Collins will turn 21 this April so he's still relatively young. I think NFL scouts will drool over his combination of size and quickness at the DT spot. I think he would be smart to go pro, get a nice paycheck from his rookie contract, and then hopes he hits a big paycheck with his 2nd contract. The rookie contracts are no longer as big as what they used to be (Suh's draft class being the last one that was huge money). The 2nd contract is where the big money is for NFL players (see Suh's recent contract with the Dolphins), and most player's don't last long enough to earn a 3rd contract.
  5. As it is, I wouldn't. Meaning he isn't doing well enough to earn a blackshirt next year? Or that he will declare for the draft? I would expect Maliek to go pro. I think he will be drafted in the first 2 rounds. He will get sick of all the double and triple teams he is seeing at NU, and realize that his draft stock is good enough to get in the NFL, start making some cash, and set himself up for his 2nd contract.
  6. Good lord...already 3 games on that list? Is that good?
  7. How about you guys stop saying the prayer altogether. JMO.
  8. Nobler is no longer with the athletic department, or at least I don't think he is.I think you are right. I believe Nobler was tied to the Pelini staff and shown the door after Bo was canned.
  9. Why does it matter who fills in for DPE? Reilly and Moore have done a fantastic job filling in for DPE. Turner has flopped every chance he has had out there. His best play of the season so far was arguably when he decided not to throw that pass last week in the red zone and instead took it for a 3-4 yard gain. He just hasn't been up to par. Too many other WR's have outplayed him and once DPE is healthy he will jump in front of him as well. Hoping for nothing but the best for JT, but he just hasn't outplayed anyone on our roster. Heck, even Hovey has done more with less this season so far. I hope JT can make some plays if given the opportunity, but right now, I'm not holding my breath. Reilly and Moore have been great. They deserve the majority of the snaps. JT is turning out to be a complete bust of a former top recruit. I know injuries played a big factor in his career, but he never panned out like most people thought he would.
  10. So you are saying that our offense is benefiting from going up against a tired defense because that defense isn't getting enough rest after the opposing offense is going through our defense like a hot knife through butter?
  11. I am very pleased (and frankly surprised) with the way the offense has performed this year. Langsdorf has done a very good job of working with TA, and the offense is carrying this team so far this season.
  12. I agree. I thought we gave Bo WAY too long. I defended BC for a long time (too long), and I defended Bo for a long time (probably too long). I can't change how I am going to have my opinions on a new coach? To me, I am seeing the exact same crap that I have seen for the past 14 years. It's not good football. Riley is the current coach, so I am going to give him blame. You see, that's where we TOTALLY disagree. When we are executing and doing things the way they're supposed to look, I think it looks like GREAT FOOTBALL. Probably the best football I've seen around here in a long time. I just see inconsistency still, and inconsistency has plagued this team for a long time, but man when it's going right it looks like damn good football. You think last in FBS in penalties per play is "great football"? You think last in passing defense is "great football"? You think getting completely dominated on the road for 80% of the game is "great football"? Wow,

  14. I was joking with friends this weekend and texting them "Can we fast-forward 3-4 years to when Riley quits/retires/is fired?" I am not saying Bo should have been kept, and I want Riley to succeed, andam willing to give him some time to figure it out at NU. But, the first 4 games are not giving me a warm, fuzzy feeling about the hire that was made. Between the game management, penalties, and defense, I am not impressed so far. It's easy to fire a coach, it's pretty hard to hire the correct guy after a firing is made. You keep saying that but you also keep not doing that. Which is it going to be? Are you going to give him time, as you keep proclaiming? Or, are you ready to throw in the towel and get the next coach as you also keep alluding to? Considering I am not the AD at NU, it's not like I am going to fire the guy. I am a fan of Nebraska, so it's not dependent on the coach. I will watch every game, cheer for a Husker victory each game, and go on with that. My comments about the concerns that have popped up during the first 4 games in Riley's tenure are merely those. I will give credit when credit is due, and I will give criticism when that is due, as well. But, to not question anything that is going on with this year's team is not what I am going to do. r You can look back through your history on this board and easily see that you're being a bit unfair to Riley already ColoradoHusk. You defended Bo quite a bit, all the way up to the end. Let's not beat around the bush and just own the fact that you were a big Bo Pelini fan and supporter and you're a little bit butthurt about his firing. That fact is leading you to have a much shorter leash with Riley. You can't really debate this, I literally looked back to posts in your history and you were defending him in his sixth and seventh years, well after some of the worst record setting failures in program history. So the unwillingness to even accept less blowouts as a positive sign in this coaches first year, is pretty telling of your crooked stance on the situation.I was a Bo supporter and I gave him a longer leash than some, you are right in that. But, I was not butthurt at all about his firing. You are 100% wrong in that. I was ready for him to be fired after the Wisconsin debacle. I am approaching Riley as if he were in a vacuum. I know that Riley is working with Bo's recruits at this time, and that is going to impact the team's performance. But, I am not going to constantly compare Riley to what Bo did. I am treating Riley and his tenure as it's own thing. That is how I can be critical of things that I have seen the first 4 games. If you don't agree with that approach, it won't bother me any. YOu love BO I am going to change my name to ColoradoPenguin. GO BO!!! GO YSU!!!

  16. What HS QBs complete 80% of their passes? One with WR's that are wide open. EDIT: I just watched his mid-year highlights on HUDL. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2536518/highlights/285921474/v2 I was surprised at the amount of deep passes and accuracy that POB showed in those highlights. Looks like a good get.
  17. See, I think it's the opposite. I like the white/red look in the afternoon, while the all-whites look great at night, as I think they reflect against the stadium lights better.
  18. I was thinking the same thing!!! That means more students buying tickets in hopes to flip them for any kind of profit.
  19. Yikes, I didn't remember we wore all-whites so much in 2002. No wonder people think they're cursed. That was the year of the large single stripe or "gusset" down the jersey and pants. That experiment lasted one year. Thanks a lot Adidas. Oh . No wonder I didn't remember them, I'd blocked those ugly things out of my mind. I actually didn't mind them, especially the home unis. The road one's were a bit much.

  21. Yikes, I didn't remember we wore all-whites so much in 2002. No wonder people think they're cursed. That's all they wore in 2002 away games. Shouldn't count becuz it wasn't an alternate that year Well, in 1992 NU decided to wear all-whites as their normal road uniform (as shown above). After 2 losses and a sluggish road win, the team ditched those and went back to the red pants. I think we just wanted to see what NU's performance was in the "surrender whites" rather than just an alternate uniform.
  22. You mean these: Somewhere Broderick Thomas is shaking his keys in the air "Our house!!!!" Dangit, the "Our House" game was in 1987. That Blood Clot uni's were '86. It sucks getting old.
