  1. forgot to add....this is coming from a HUGE Dennard fan
  2. For all of you who are saying "kids will be kids,"....that is true for the part where he gets into a fight with another drunken bar troll. However, I don't care if you are 22 or 72, you don't EVER get into a fight with a cop. That is not being a kid....that is just plain stupid. We all know it from the time we go to jr high. What he did was uncalled for, unacceptable and any other "un" you can think of. It is going to cost him a ton of cash and maybe a stint in jail, and he deserves the consequence for his action
  3. jealousy is an ugly ugly color I hear its big and red and located north of Janesville...
  4. would be a bad move IMHO. Arkansas will be on probation once they find out how he was able to get all of those high profile recruits there. Mom's getting jobs and who knows what else
  5. It actually shows how GOOD our coaches are at evaluating talent. Some of these High School kids just don't have the best facilities or coaching to reach their potential. Some are just late developers. The fact that they can see the potential in these kids is admirable. Remember, just because a kid wants to walk on, doesn't mean he will be allowed to. They choose the walk-ons. That said, I am with you on your point about our coaching the O-Line. It has not been what it should be. We can do much better than Barney Cotton if we choose to. Some of his decisions baffle me. Moving A-Rod from a position where he was an all-american in high school to tackle just kills me! It can't be for playing time because he won't start at tackle and he won't start at guard.
  6. Dang! This guy is 175 inches tall and only weighs 60lbs?
  7. love the way he launches himself to tackle the ball carrier
  8. great highlight video! showed his blocking, receiving and running skills. I really like this guy. I would take him as a 3 to play 2. Especially like his penchant for knocking people backward at the end of his runs
  9. unbelievably quick off the ball. Shows a good motor. His frame looks like it could hold another 15 lbs without any trouble. We need this guy
  10. looks like he has a burst, but he runs pretty upright through the hole
  11. This is a horrible decision! 5 yards is not going to help safety whatsoever. Think about how quickly a person reaches top speed. 5 yards fewer is meaningless. And you then penalize safety by saying if you don't allow a return (where all of the injuries are going to occur) then we are going to penalize you 5 more yards? Whomever made this decision was obviously bi-polar
  12. I want to see some defensive pressure of the QB. Hopefully, we are scheming differently
  13. Green. Abdullah is going to fumble his way out of a back-up job unless he drastically changes this year
  14. Great move for us! The Big 12 is an organizational mess, and is likely to disband if there is a strong move to super conferences that comes up again. They just lost three top teams (aTm, Misery and us) and another mid-level team (Buffalitos). For every B12 top performer, the B1G can counter with one of their own. I do miss the Sooners, though. That was a fun rivalry.
  15. I wouldn't mind seeing alt uni's once a year. You wouldn't diminish the brand and it would inject some additional discussion among the media.
  16. If true, that's pretty high praise, considering the hard-ons the recruiting services had for Seantrel Henderson and Cyrus Kouandijo the last couple years... that's pretty interesting since he was knocked down to 4*. I hate the recruiting process!!
  17. I tend to agree with this, but in this case I think Raymond went a little too far. Even if what he says is true, the kids just aren't good enough, that's just something I would like the coaches not saying at all, to anyone. People gave Bo crap for saying the execution wasn't there (and it wasn't). That's something I'm fine with, Bo's not saying they're not good enough, he's saying they are good enough, they just need to execute. I don't mind Raymond calling out the players. What I take issue with is that he did not include himself and the coaching as well. If they are truly a "team" then he needs to raise his hand first before raising his players hand
  18. Agree with you Ern. I said the same thing in a couple of other posts
  19. I was really happy with the first half. Even TMarts interception came with barely any time left on the clock so I didn't think it would hurt us. One hail mary changed everything. In the second half we did not play action pass to make their dbacks stay honest. That was the biggest difference in the second half.....well, that and Yoshi deciding he could not keep still, getting 4 penalties!
  20. This will never happen. It's Bo's defensive philosophy to only rush 4 guys every down. It's 6 on 4 every play for our defensive linemen. Not gonna get much pressure that way. People should just get used to this. The problem is not really only rushing 4, although I agree that they need to mix in a blitz a little more. The problem is that we have under-sized D-tackles and ends that are too slow. On top of that they are playing position football and not really encouraged to go make a play. Ankrah is a perfect example. He was invisible throughout the year until they told him to just go out and try to make plays. Then he had a good Iowa game. We really need a 320 lb D-tackle to clog the middle! Even Rome, who I LOVED coming out of high school just gets shoved backward when he is in.
  21. We learned that Bo and Company are right to up the stakes on their recruiting and go after more big fish. They don't have the skill set to coach up the "lesser" players that Tom and Team had.
  22. Ive had this discussion with several friends and family members. It is not a question that I or anyone else besides our AD can answer. How could I possibly know which coaches are available or interested in Nebraska. Sure I could come up with some fantasy list of coaches but it wouldn't be realistic and would be a waste of time. I will say this. I would want an offensive minded head coach who is in control of his emotions. I would also want a coach who hires established and qualified Offensive and Defensive Coordinators. We might have qualified coordinators already in place but we don't know because they didn't prove themselves before the hire. this is the biggest issue IMHO. The team fell apart when Bo lost his cool. You could even tell he was losing it when he spoke to the sideline reporter at the half. I had a bad feeling from that point on, because we have seen it before. Teams take on the personality of their coaches. If you are the boss and you completely lose your composure, how can you expect those that work (or play) for you to keep theirs?!
  23. disagree...the team fell apart the same time Bo lost his cool. He needs to keep his composure so that the team will keep theirs
  24. You beat speed rushers in two different ways: run right at them, pounding them into submission and not allowing them to go around the offensive line; and counter them taking advantage of their need for speed by getting them out of position
  25. Disagreed entirely. My school is Adidas sponsored, and their stuff is crap. We had a Nike rep in 2 weeks ago showing off their new stuff, and it seemed like a night and day difference in quality. The new Adidas cleats, those adi-star things, are gross. They are paper mache. I don't know how more D1 football players haven't rolled ankles, I get a mountain of tape every day and still feel insecure. The adidas clothes' durability is even bad. My undershirts and shorts from last year are already tearing or fraying, while I have Nike stuff from high school that is still going strong. I'd be all for a Nike switch at Nebraska. Plus, it looks cooler. Some of you old timers need to get with the new styles. Some Nike Pro Combat jerseys designed to look traditional, kind of like the Adidas ones now but in Nike form, would look sweet. It would certainly help recruiting. May sound silly, but it's true. Uh...both Adidas AND Nike are the old timers. Under Armour is the new up and comer.
