  1. I think this highlights the problems with last year. It isn't like AM forgot how to throw the deep ball, there just wasn't anybody who could get open enough to try and give it a shot. That ball was beautiful and well placed.
  2. Rogers financially can’t go anywhere. He is a packer or retired for 2021.
  3. Bears are killing it. Broncos messed up by letting Fields go.
  4. I find it to be more of a race to the bottom for large companies. They will find a way to wiggle out of their fair share.
  5. That is also fair. We obviously have many pieces overall to COL that make Nebraska attractive to workers. Despite the tax burden, Nebraska has one of the largest financial conglomerates in Omaha, a premier medical innovator in UNMC, and one of the fastest growing tech cities in the midwest with Lincoln. Cheap(er) land and capable individuals can do a lot. I also don't know what tax breaks they got, but there sure a lot of data centers will to pay for land in Nebraska. If Senators want to actually reduce the burden on farmers and small business, I am all for it, but it does need to be a way to get those larger companies to contribute to the state.
  6. I think Cdog was referencing that Senators are trying to pigeon hole a narrative to a problem that is otherwise not linked in most of the general population. Property taxes are too high for business interests and farming. That is fine, but don't try and tell me that average people give a rip other than, "The government takes all my money." and don't know whether the percentage taken goes up, down, or stays the same in any given year. Most people who leave or go to another state probably don't look into individual property tax rates other than a generic cost of living readout from a major publication. I have read on financial website devoted to zealot level people about cost cutting measures moving to Nebraska without realizes property taxes were so high. They stayed because everything else was that much cheaper for a good job. Nebraska has a hard time retaining young professionals to its' state. The topic in this thread and good jobs have is what drives that.
  7. BUT PROPERTY TAXES ARE TOO HIGH... I would venture to guess 95% of people don’t know what they pay in property taxes. A good job in a low cost of living area solves lots of problems and Nebraska universities recruit a lot of talent from out of state. Nebraska is so close, yet so very far away.
  8. We don't hire entry level engineers out of college for that either.
  9. That is fair, but when he had anything close to an NFL receiver he produced pretty well. Taylor got to throw to Niles Paul, Mike McNeil, Kenny Bell, Menelik Holt, Jamal Turner, and had Ameer and Rex/Helu out of the backfield. Adrian has had Morgan, Robinson, and Speilman with Ozigbo out of the backfield.
  10. And then Nebraska wonders why it can't keep kids here after college.
  11. Iowa has a habit of sitting on leads. Punt from the opponents 40, run on 1st and 2nd downs, and limit the mistakes. They took the lead early and shut down there offensive play calling until it mattered in the 4th quarter. They finally gave up points to us and were forced to turn on the machine again. Their offense had no issue putting up the necessary points in the 4th quarter to win while we failed to be creative or dominate with our final possession. Iowa only scored 3 points off Nebraska turnovers, and botched a short field on another turnover. Good special teams is also a big differentiator over the last few years as Iowa/Wisconsin have been solid to good and Nebraska has been poor to bad.
  12. Iowa. Their offense was one of the best last year after Petras settled down and most of the production is back. Wisconsin is an L until it isn't.
  13. "My personal experience...", that is the problem. We need a societal level response so that you don't get it, your kids don't get it, so that way immune compromised people don't die. You getting vaccinated as a healthy person is to help not kill those who can't.
  14. Why would a NE governor need to give two flips about the southern border? Isn't that what the federal government and border states are for?
  15. I understand he is trying to deflect, but the language he used is...poor at best.
  16. I think one of Pelini’s last years we had seemingly nobody who could catch punts. Might have been when Westerkamp was injured?
  17. The biggest complaint I can even come up with 5 to 25 years ago was Sandro De Angeles/David Dyches had a problem of shanking medium range important field goals.
  18. That was the only gif I could find that worked. He had a pretty hard time holding onto the ball throughout his career as well as the picks.
  19. He could easily have people just off screen giving him information or translating? Secondly, who cares if he decides to wear one?
  20. But he was that smart/talented to have the calling card. What does Bielema bring to the table that is elevate Illinois? He had ok teams at Arkansas that did the basics well and he beat a couple of overrated teams in his tenure.
  21. With what we returned on defense, I am not surprised they gave it to the offense. With all the production that has sieved from the offense over the Frost era, we will have to be propped up by the defense in 2021. We aren't going to be amazing, and to be good, we need our offense to be better and more consistent. If our offense doesn't elevate, we are in for another long year that at best resembles 2009 with way less excitement.
