  1. Ranking based on conference record. Didn't look up tie breakers but conference title game bid (win/lose) did help break some ties. BIG vs. PAC-12 (#5) Nebraska over (#5) Washington 51-38 Nebraska's highest scoring output by far. The next best offensive output by Nebraska against a conference foe comes against inept Minnesota getting 41. (#10) Illinois over (#6) ASU 17-14 Illinois knocks off at time ranked Arizona State. Illinois then limps through the conference schedule and makes a bowl game thanks to this win. (#10) Illinois over (#4) UCLA 20-14 What does previously said inept Illinois do with a bowl berth? Beats defacto division winner UCLA, albeit with new coach. (#8) Ohio State over (#10) Colorado 37-17 Yeah. Nobody thought this was suppose to be a comparable game, but even without the tattoo clan Ohio State beats Colorado. Ohio State goes on to have a bad year in conference with the exception of an upset of Wisconsin. (#1) Wisconsin over (#9) Oregon State 35-0 I won't say much, but a shutout? It is hard to compare one conferences bad team to a good one in another, but OSU put up 21 on Oregon and 38 on Washington. (#1) Oregon over (#1) Wisconsin 45-38 Oregon wins a shootout. The PAC-12 only win against the BIG. Nice to see some defense from these two. BIG goes 5-1 losing only the big one in the Rose Bowl.
  2. I think that is it...they created a 'new' image in East Lansing with Dantonio. People and the media look at them differently now; they are not the football program they used to be under the last couple of coaches (it was a train wreck). With that said and the seasons they have had the last two years, they are getting recognized more and more nationally. I can't wait to see how they respond to our thrashing of them last year..... They show up and kick our butts? I don't want any of that.
  3. Really? 308/446, 3528 yards, 69.1 %, 7.91 ypa, 39 TD, 7 INTs, 8 sacks. In 2011. This is great that Rex is getting a website, by the way. I remember when PAC teams played defense...oh, wait.
  4. Actually I worry a bit about Minnesota in future years. They have a very good coach I worry about the Gophers as well...not in football though, more in the sense that a neighbor worries about the house full of bald cult members next door when he sees them mixing barrels of kool aid in their backyard.
  5. Which is greater, the advantage of being 7th in kick return yardage, or the disadvantage of being 104th in kick return yardage allowed? I don't know. Ouch! I dunno. I had no idea our coverage unit sucked that bad last year. That is why Maher's touchbacks were so important last year.
  6. Thinking about how many bad calls we had in that game makes you wonder all the more about that season in which we had the Aggie debacle.
  7. Oh god. Every time I even read that guys name my brain hurts.
  8. There is potential for a very successful passing game. Hopefully, we will see that potential turn into reality.
  9. I think we will see some of Zaire Anderson in there as well.
  10. I didn't say he is perfect. He is definitely not a complete passer, but it is funny how everybody wants to jump on just the bad or just the good. There is a mix of both and I just hope he gets better. Nobody is perfect and sometimes others are lifted to high. Just like to point out the "game tape all afternoon" of his terrible play. That is all.
  11. My first game was with my grandpa in North stadium. 1997 Akron W 59-14 I still remember Joel Mackovicka's touchdown run. Great moment on a really hot day for this kid.
  12. The only problem he has ever had is being underestimated.
  13. Love those helmets. The metallic red would be cool for nebraska in the future.
  14. I agree although I tend to think it will hurt the team wearing them almost as much as the opponent. Luckily there hasn't been any confirmation of that abortion actually being used this year. I'm just not a fan of the whole push for alternate uniforms in general. The push isn't from schools that want to honor past squads or the occasionally used tradition (ND green unis), it's from clothing manufacturers who want to use teams as marketing arms to sell more product. I will never support a major University becoming secondary in it's own decision making process to that of an outside corporation. I like a once a year change of uniforms. When teams do the alternates right, they are awesome. I just don't like the Oregon new uniforms every game. My personal favorite.
  15. I think Helu's ups and downs had more to do with our inconsistent OL than with Roy. I oft asked people that with as hard and as physical as Roy runs, could you imagine him running behind the '94, '95, or even '97 OL? He'd a rushed for probably 2,500 yards and be considered the best RB we've ever had.
  16. I like the helmet, but the red looks off. It doesn't look like our scarlet we wear now. I think we need mostly black pants or mostly black tops, not red on red.
  17. I think you should let the players make all the decisions for the team. That sounds like a winning plan. BTW for those who keep repeating 'it's only one game, that's what Ohio State fans were saying three years ago. Now things like this are surfacing... Once you let the tail start wagging the dog it's hard to go back. The metallic helmet thing should be banned. It is just ridiculous and an unfair advantage on a sunny day.
