  1. Didn’t Bill Callahan coach O-Line for Taylor or maybe when he was still OC? Answer is no. Hmm. Moving along.
  2. Gophers packed it in early and Northwestern hit every pass they needed. They scored a touchdown pass with 2 seconds to spare to get it to OT.
  3. We can compete with or be crushed by anyone left on our schedule. That is how bad/sporadic the division is. Even the wildcats beat the gophers by playing one good quarter of football. Oof.
  4. Chez Mellusi is out at RB for Wisky. They now have to rely solely on Braelon Allen.
  5. The journalist probably didn’t have her catalog of notes in front of her to make sure she could get the facts correct. It looks like Dave, despite trying otherwise, doesn’t have legal standing to dispute her intro email claims. She probably wanted to be well prepared in case of probable legal action taken against her for which he has legally accepted and she wanted to accurately quote and reference with her colleague. https://www.axios.com/2023/02/02/dave-portnoy-withdraws-appeal-lawsuit-insider#
  6. Wait, Florida has open borders? I always knew Alabama was a sh*th@le country!
  7. Looks, Simms has found fundamentally/foundational ways to mess up plays that you would expect a freshman in high school to have handled and be able to do on a regular basis. There isn't much president for this in major college football. I don't know the leap that a coach would have to go through to identify, my guy doesn't go through his reads well to he can't hold onto a snap that is placed well and hits him in the hands. Those are two different levels of coaching based on what level of football you are coaching.
  8. I don't think it is akin to say a guy who doesn't run crisp routes will all the sudden not be able to catch a ball because they aren't a good receiver.
  9. To my knowledge he hasn't struggled with these basics in the same way.
  10. In July, he probably didn't think his QB wouldn't even be able to take a snap or hand the ball off when under fire. Tanner Lee looked good in shorts.
  11. Colorado was selling out on the run with everyone at the line in each gap early. That is why counters were hitting with a hole big enough for a truck to drive through.
  12. In general everything is more expensive and remedial jobs pay better. I am also sure that immigrants wouldn’t mind sharing. Or there could be other underlying interests at hand. Worth a thought.
  13. Hmm, and yet they seem to need more people to fill all their vacancies. Almost like there might be another motive behind this. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/06/nyregion/nyc-workers-hiring-vacancies.html It also seems like less people live in NYC now than the beginning of 2020. These people could fill those empty apartments. https://www.thecity.nyc/2023/8/4/23819420/why-is-nyc-rent-so-high
  14. Travis looked extremely polished and hit everything on the run to keep the LSU d-line at bay. The game plan literally eliminated what had been called the best deepest dline this year. Props to Norvell and FSU. They were ready for this one.
  15. One interesting data point coming out of this weekend is the NC/SC game. There was a lot out of the SC camp that Satterfield was the problem who couldn’t get things done and was a terrible play caller. People in the background saying that Satterfield shouldn’t get credit for the Tennessee or Clemson games and happy to see him gone. Dowell Loggins coming in there would make them so much better on offense. Seeing a brief overview of that game and SC could not run the ball at all. Lump on sacks and they had negative rush yards. Rattler even had a couple long runs on prevent defense at the end of the game. The passing game? Basically a one and one of Rattler to Legette. Don’t get me wrong, Legette is a dude and would break a lot of teams, but throwing jump balls to a beast isn’t exactly offensive wizardry. I still hate the fourth quarter sequence of throws and outcomes from our qb not being coached to get points. It is only one data point, but not everything seems like Satterfield out at SC is such a huge win. I hope he continues to find his groove, but he might still have his stride coming if he can start to duplicate success he had last year. I am at least a little interested to see how more of this shakes out this year.
  16. I will raise you with Cody Green. Even with the 09 defense he still needs a special teams score to keep Nebraska above water against a RG3less Baylor with a third string qb of their own.
  17. Honestly, the problem for me, was that we did look better than I was expecting. I got flutters of hope seeing our line run block just well enough, a half back bounce of a tackler, the qb step up into a pocket to buy an extra half second, a defense hold down the fort on multiple drives into our territory. But then it all ended up where I thought it would anyway. I have hope, but it will be a long road to get there. Also, I think the defense actually looked really good. We made adjustments and used substitutions to stall a set of mismatches. It is used against us all the time in the last decade, but I don’t remember the last time Nebraska has used the rules to take back a glaring mismatch.
  18. I like how we got called for disconcerting signals on a clap on defense that was clearly to get someone else’s attention, but Michigan State got to do it at the line 10 times only trying to mess with our snap count and it was never called.
  19. And yet, I am still disappointed somehow. You think the logic in me that already knew this would happen would make this easier.
  20. The fact that the temperature at kickoff opening weekend is 78 degrees means this is going to be one of the least adverse weather during an opening game for Nebraska in a long time. Thanks for hosting us south Canada!
  21. Buying things at market rate is just capitalism.
  22. So you want socialization faster? You’ve come a long way Archy!
  23. 17 - 13, rodents Bonus: The whole game take 2 hours and 53 minutes and the FOX wonders why it ever agreed to put these two on prime time Thursday night because they don't even fill the entire time slot and choose one of the new BIG teams for next year who might throw a pass more than 10 yards.
