Jarred04
the tee is also an inch shorter this year... to prevent more touchbacks. Congdon is just fine. Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
Before we go that route. Where is the opponents average starting yardline Around the 25 yard line against non-talented teams. What is the national average, or where does that stat rank? Congdon has also never kicked the ball out of bounds resulting in a penalty. We are ranked 14th in return yardage defense. Here is a link..... http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?ye...urndef&site=org Plus, several of the teams ahead of us have only kicked off a couple of times so their numbers are a little skewed. never summer
What we need is for him to boot one to the back of the endzone a couple times so that we all know that it can be done if they want it. It does seem like his leg strength is a little weak, even on extra points and field goals. But I guess as long as he keeps putting them through the uprights I really shouldn't care if the ball is a bullet or a floater. Quote Link to comment
husker rob
15 for 15 on extra points 0 for 1 on a rainy day for FG attempts i think he will be fine. as for the kickoffs, as long as the special team players tackle well and force a turnover here and there who cares (other than Bernard) if he kicks it out of the endzone Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
the tee is also an inch shorter this year... to prevent more touchbacks. Congdon is just fine. The new tee is going to make it pretty difficult to have consistent touchbacks. As long as he is getting it down the field and letting the kickoff team fly down and take someone's head off....I am completely happy with that. Quote Link to comment
admo
He's been pretty accurate on his field goals during his short career. And those are points on the board. No biggie on the kickoffs. It's up to coverage/special teams players and coaches to handle up on that. Quote Link to comment
