Eric the Red
I am very excited about Culbert and what he was able to do today. He is one of the few people who want to hit and knows how to make a good, solid tackle. Using their shoulder and wrapping up. Quote Link to comment
KansasHusker
It was good to see him on the field so much today. He is a "want to" kind of player and he brings energy to the D. Quote Link to comment
Hawkeyehusker
He was 4th on the defense in tackles. He had a great day. We'll need him against A&M and Colorado. Wtih all the injuries on defense this season it's great to see some of this new blood stepping up. Quote Link to comment
Licensed to Ill
Hahaha, totally lame pun Quote Link to comment
DaveH
Agreed. He saw a lot of time today. Quote Link to comment
CornHunka
I thought Major Culbert was fantastic today. Our D coaches lined him up at middle linebacker a whole lot during the game today and on the outside, he was a streak of lightning closing in on a tackle. He simply made a bunch of tackles today and was a star. I expect big things from this guy and honestly hope that he will take playing time away from Shanle or Green in the next couple of weeks. Â I was so pist about Mizzou's td pass on fourth and 16 than I could just vomit. We were playing cover 2 zone and Shanle was (like last week) a day late and a dollar short. Either one of the Bullock boys would have had a pick or at least would have laid that Mizzou WR out. As a safety, Shanle should either knock the ball away or make the wideout pay for catching the ball, he does neither. Â Other than that play and a couple of other plays, I was pleased with our schemes on defense and the effort was outstanding Quote Link to comment
Redman
I thought he did well also. It will be nice to get him some experience. Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
I was very impressed with his ability to come up and make a play for the Blackshirts. He actually has some closing speed as well....which some of our secondary are lacking in. Quote Link to comment
DJR313
Culbert did well. I liked the defensive look that they gave today. Essentially 4 safeties out there with Culbert, Shanle, Green and Wilson. Got a lot of speed on the field. I can't say that I saw McKeon at all today. Quote Link to comment
Licensed to Ill
I say give Thenarse some more time at Safety Quote Link to comment

Those guys give us athleticism, which we are in sore need of when Octavien is out. Â Â Â Did McKeon and Steve-O play at all today? Â Â (better to get them ready for A&M...) Quote Link to comment

gamecocks
If Cosgrove ever wanted to get creative with his defense, he could line Culbert up at linebacker a few times and either let him blitz or let him cover a back/tightend man to man and still have the flexibility to run our base defense with it. AR Husker Fan
I suspect, after today, that may very well happen. It appears Major knows enough about the scheme that they can feel comfortable putting him out there... Quote Link to comment
ttheKid1*18
I heard Culbert's name a lot today, and it was great to see him out there. Him and Thenarse are going to be the guys in the secondary, and I'm happy they are getting some pt. Quote Link to comment
