huskerfantls
It was so bad, I even left the TV (with the Tivo on) and went to Hollywood Video late in the third quarter. Coach C will be at NU for a while, and things may get a whole lot worse before they get better. I don't think it will happen, but this could implode like an old-time Vegas casino. Dailey and Davis will be our Qbs for the year, with a slim possibility of an Adams or Goodman sighting. Makes me long for the years with Grant, Clayton, Joseph, and Berringer. We need to understand that we are not getting the best players, didn't get them, but might have several arrive next year. Kids are excited about the Corn Coast, and after tonight's loss, talented seniors at high schools all over the US are moving Nebraska up their list because they know they can play D and tackle better than we did tonight-thereby playing sooner than they might at USC, Ohio State, Florida State, etc. So while we didn't look great tonight, and maybe even terrible, the windfall of talent could be worth the pain. I hope it is. What happens when Callahan cant get the top picks in the NCAA? then he will have to deal with the kind of talent that Osborn and solich had and won with.... Gasp could it be that Callahan just cant coach???? He coached some of the best players of all time in the NFL and what happened he got fired.... Face it Callahan isnt a coach he can recruit but he isnt a coach Quote Link to comment

The fact is that all you people don't have the ability to wrap your head around anything but "real Nebraska football" (that phrase makes me want to vomit). Callahan said it himself in the press conference, this is a bottom line game. When you lose people don't wanna hear that there were improvements here or this player did somegood things. It rings even more true here at Nebraska. I am sure you don't even listen or read anything the guy or the players have to say. It's easier to just regurgitate the same BS over and over here. At least some people, namely me, are willing to see this out for at least 2-3 years. I don't care who was hired, that would only be fair. I have said it time and time again. If after that we are still worse off, then yea get rid of him. If not, you all will be talking like you always had faith. Quote Link to comment

Because he protected his players and bitched out snyder for being an ass and keeping in his starters when we had 3rd and 4th teamers in. For showing emotion? I call that a good coach not a head case. A guy I would like to play for. Quote Link to comment

A guy I would like to play for. He chewed out Snyder because Snyder exposed the "Genuis" that is Bo. Di he say anything to Stoops for throwing a TD pass with 35 seconds left against Kansas? Need I mention White threw it. Is his stupid 15 yard penalty in the bowl game just showing fire? Get off of Bo Balls and move on. I sure wish he would of got hired so we could be rolling everybody with Cottons offense. Last time I checked doesn't USC run a version of the WCO. Man their offense sucks. Oh and the statement about nobody being affraid of us any more I think that went out the window with TO. Do you remeber the 590 yards passing L. Tech put on the Blackshirts in Frankies first game? Or the smackdowns laid on Bo's candyass last year. Cedric Benson and Vince Young looked scared to death when they were running dives right up the gut for ten yards. Like I said before it's a state job go put in your applications and run the team the "Nebraska" way. You could have an all Nebraska roster and run the option on every play. Why not throw the ball on 1st down in the forth quarter? I guess we should just play not to lose instead of to win. That same play went for a TD against S. Miss. Quote Link to comment

I'd go to war with Pelini... Quote Link to comment

rawhide
Did you ever see TO or Charley McBride run onto the field and curse out the opposing coach. Class acts dont do that tends to ruin the reputation. All the naysayers really think that Bo is the real deal. I thought he did good except for the three big losses and he beat a mediocre MSU team in the Alamo Bowl. IMO BC brings a new style and some restraint to the HC position. I remember how everyone dissed TO for not being able to win the BIG ONE. REMEMBER THAT. I didnt think so. This is the same soap opera just different coaches. NU will be exceptional again with BC just keep the faith not just team unity Fan unity is important too. It is counterproductive to piss and moan about the new coaches and dont talk about the worst loss since forever look at all the teams we smeared over the years. GEEZ, 60+ points in the Fiesta Bowl Its tough not to score when you are a superior team BC will bring those kind of scores back If he doesnt I cant eat crow I'm allergic to rats with wings. joshuavacek
Coaches need players to win. Callahan is bringing in the players who want to play for him. Those who dont buy in to the system will be spectators soon and the W's will come rollin' in with the talent Quote Link to comment

PRO-CALLAHAN Not sure that BC is the best thing to happen to Nebraska (I'd vote for Tommy Frazier), but he is doing a hell of a job recruiting. Let the fans bitch, 247. I bet they're hiding in 3 or 4 years when we bring another title to town. Hell, even that may not be good enough for some people. I'm a BC/SP supporter as well. (Glass is half full, right?) roadrat
The worst thing would be to fire Callahan after one or two seasons. Besides who can stand another coaching search conducted by Stevie Wonder? We need to wait at least until Houston Nutt needs another raise. Quote Link to comment
