HuskerT
I don't know about you guys, but I'm not too fond of all the pre snap shifting our team does and it just seams to confuse everyone but the opposing defense. I also noticed that when they shifted about 90% of the time they would run the football, I'm sure opposing coaches noticed this as well. I was hoping that this would stop with the departure of Norvell or is it a BC thing. Please offer your thoughts or opinions. Quote Link to comment
husker rob
i was wondering if Watson is going to be calling the plays or will Cally continue to do it Quote Link to comment
huskernumerouno
I think BC will keep that job. I could be wrong though I have been before. Quote Link to comment
HSKRNOKC
There will be plenty of it. I hope there will be plenty of scoring by us too. Quote Link to comment

Landlord
If I had to guess I would say that it will definetely be more of the same. Â Â And to think that it didn't confuse defenses is silly. Quote Link to comment
huskernation20
After watching he video from practice the monday I saw a couple plays with people shifting around in the area of RB, TE, and WR's. I think it worked pretty well last season; especially when we pulled out trick plays. Quote Link to comment
DaveH
It's part of the offense so no, I don't think it will completely go away. Â It's meant to try to get favorable match ups if the defense doesn't adjust right. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The key is for the QB to recognize those match ups. Â As far as how often NU run's vs pass in a play that has a motion component, I have to think it can't be that lopsided. With as many stats and reviews of the previous games, I'd be hard pressed to be believe it was that lopsided. Â I think Callahan retains calling the plays this year. I don't know if he has plans or would feel comfortable giving that up. Quote Link to comment

Good point...I'm not sure how convincing the shifting is all the time, but on a couple of occasions, defenses looked completely lost. CU had absolutely no clue, but it's not too hard to fool the brainless. Quote Link to comment
DJR313
I hope that we do see the shifting. It noticeably confused some teams last year. It's all about getting inside the defense's head and knocking them back on their heels. The only thing I care about is that if the shifting continues that their are no false starts or illegal procedure calls. Now that Patrick has moved on, false starts may not be a problem. Every time I have stopped to watch a practice on campus, a security guard would appear from out of nowhere and ask me to move along. Quote Link to comment

Good point about Patrick, Murtha seemed to have a lot of problems with it too hopefully he can get his head on straight this year he could be dominant! I don't remember what game it was, but I even remember one of the announcers pointing at that when the huskers shifted, it was a run play. Hopefully it's just my imagination, if it works once a game than I guess it's worth it. Quote Link to comment
huskernation20
Dude...I seriously found a Home made video tape of Monday's practice! If I can remember where I found it, I'll let you know! And I know its current cause Keller was QB wearing Green Jersey! Quote Link to comment
